Had help from my mother with these. Honest!

when the ipod was powered by a coiled spring and the needle was changed every second record

when tv scheduling started at 5 pm on a Sunday with Muffin the Mule (and how we sat waiting for it).

when Britain invaded an Arab state and the American government said "You can't do that!"

when "stepping on the gas" caused you to run over the man with the flag

when you could attend hospital without anyone asking you "are you able to pay for this?"

when a Sherpa conquered Everest and it was proclaimed a great British achievement

when soccer stars earned the princely sum of 10 pounds a week, goalkeepers wore flat caps and Man City were a big team

when a priest could buggar a young boy and no one asked questions - ah well, some things never change
