USC's QB Wendell Keith won the Heisman, strange choice as Vanderbilt's Dickerson, Florida's Winslett and Texas A&M's Kaplan all had better stats. Maybe Keith didn't have the supporting cast the others had, and did it all by himself.

Dickerson's passing total of 5151 yds was the seventh highest of all time. Kaplan's 60 TDs passing was a tie for the second best ever.

• Toombs was All-Conference twice and All-America once (in 2041). 144 tck, 72 ass and 24.5 sacks in 43 games.
  
• Marzullo was All-Conference in 2041, his only full season. He passed for 5769 yds and 50 TDs in 20 starts.
  
• Vrabel started 48 games for a career 33.7 BPct.
  
• Rhodes was All-Conference twice with 2322 yds and 25 TDs in 46 games (24 starts).
  
• James started 36 games and had a lifetime 33.3 BPct.
  
• Gillespie started only 2 games and didn't leave much of an impression.
  
• Bergmann became a starter only in his senior season. 12 interceptions and 104 tackles in 47 games.
