This was posted near the end of the work day, so we might need until noon-ish tomorrow to agree on something. (FWIW, tomorrow I'm out until 5pm or so, so I can't contribute until then)

That's fine with me. We just need a simple majority to continue on. I need to hear from most of you if this weekend is good for you or not.

I was at the hospital with my son last night, sorry (he's fine). Put me in whichever group, I'm pretty flexible.

Definitely good news, MJ4H. How about we put me in the football group, then, and MJ4H in the baseball group? That evens things up. And that's my vote.
As for the weekend, I don't know how it looks -- I might be able to check in every once in a while. |

So do we want to go with these groups, or does MJ4H want to switch groups?

Oh, I didn't realize we were balanced when we put me in the football group. I guess MJ can go either way.

I know very little about baseball. I don't dislike baseball, i do, however, dislike pro baseball. I like hockey and football both, though. So depending on which way you guys are slanting this (go with the obvious or against the obvious) I could switch groups pretty easily.

MH4H and Fouts , if you know anything about hockey, maybe one of you should join the not hockey group? Barkeep already said he doesn't know much about hockey, so if it really is a hockey group, then we might be short-handed there.

Well, we haven't heard from Fouts in awhile. The team could just place him, or I'd suggest we pick things up on Monday. Fouts didn't say anything about being unavailable that I know of. It could have been in the thread The Mole deleted, but I don't remember Fouts saying anything.

No offense, fouts, but I'm going to go ahead and replace you. If you guys want, since we're replacing two players, we could start over again tomorrow. I don't this game isn't really effective bringing in subs.
But it's up to you guys.

KevinNU7 is taking over for Fouts. Hopefully, this is our last change. Now, with Kevin on the team, let's hear recommendations and approvals for groups.
One group that likes baseball One group that likes football One group that doesn't like hockey. Three players in two of the groups, two players in the other group. Let's get this show on the road.

I'd like to be in the 2nd group. Actually, I think we should just stick where we were, and stick KevBo in one of the two-person groups.

$50,000 on the line.
From previous tasks, the team has accumulated $45,000 (This number comes from the questionaire task and the enigma task). Johnny93g has been kidnapped by The Mole while in Detroit watching the Rams and the Lions tonight. He was with the Group that likes football. The group that likes baseball is in Seattle, watching the Yankees play the Mariners. Meanwhile, the group that doesn't like hockey was in Hartford. They were definitely not watching hockey. The group that likes football searched everywhere, found clues and headed to the airport. They lost the scent there. Thomkal called the group that likes baseball, and told them about the problem, while Passacaglia called the group that doesn't like hockey. The Mole left a note saying the team has 24 hours (game hours, not real life) to find Johnny93g. All three groups agreed they needed to find Johnny93g and quickly. Each group may choose where to fly next. I will decide a time frame that it will take to fly there and adequately search the surrounding area (real time will make it instantaneous, but I will count hours). For example, Group A chooses to fly from B to C. Once I see it, I will indicate the time taken, and the result. I will give the group a hot or cold indication. Hot being closer to Johnny93g, cold being further away. That indication will be PMed to the group. Any player in the group may then post the indication here. One last rule, the three man groups must have two players agree to fly to a location before I will acknowledge the flight. Both players must agree in the two man group. Once Johnny93g is found, all three groups must converge on the location before the deadline. Questions and/or concerns post below. Good luck to everyone.

Cool I've never been to Detroit! Too bad the game has been sucky so far. Unless you are a Rams fan that is. How about baseball lovers, is the game there in Seattle more interesting? What are you watching in Hartford hockey haters?
Passacaglia, any ideas on where we two should fly to? |

One thing I should mention: Johnny93g is being held in a city, no need to fly to Possum Grape, Arkansas.

OK, so no indication whether Johnny is limited to the US (or North America)?
Todd and MJ4H, here is an idea. Since we are in Seattle, should we fly to Hawaii? If we fly there and we are told we are getting cold, then we can eliminate half the world (Asia, Australia etc). If we get warmer, then we know he is not in North America. What do you guys think? |

Since you cover 3 time zones with that flight, you also have a bunch of extra time (in fact, if you fly west you could fly most of the way around the world in 24 hours because of time zones). I say it's a worthwhile play. Hockey group: Any thoughts what to do, from here?

Clarification: US destinations only. I must apologize to The Mole. That just would have been too easy.

Ok something interesting here that might just be a fluke BUT: Hartford and Seattle both had sports teams that moved in the sports mentioned, but I can't think of any for Detroit in football. |
