Natalie was on Project Runway last night, she's launched a line of eco-friendly vegan shoes, and last night they used "green" fabrics for their designs so she was the guest judge. SL perked up when he heard her name and informed me she looked "yummy", "adorable", and "gorgeous" at different points during the show.

That is really not "that" expensive for high end shoes...I agree that it's too much to pay, but compared to Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, etc...it's pretty reasonable.

Meant to also say that the leathers are fake, and the actual fabrics are all "green" as they are made with hemp or other more natural, unaltered fibers.

Yes, I'm pretty sure those are his pubes sticking out in the opening seconds. This has been on MTV2. I have already written and demanded my money and fresh corneas back.

And yes, Natalie Portman is in this.

that video is the stupedist thing I think I've ever watched. Am I mistaken that they caught erh at the end there just laughing at the sheer stupidity o it all and then just kept filming?

gah.

Natalie dear, you're too intelligent for this.

Don't get me started on wanted - the graphic novel is fantastic but the film has been watered down to the point where the plot is only even vaguely similar and the hard edge which made the graphic novel interesting is lost totally ..

If you haven't read the graphic novel I recommend it.

Beautiful Girls is the movie that showcases what Natalie's career could have been like, instead of the crap she's been in like Star Wars, etc... She absolutely stole the movie. Not much that she has done since comes close to the charm she showed way back when.

Beautiful Girls is a good movie and Natalie Portman was great in it, but I think it's a little premature (and incorrect) to conclude that her career has veered off the tracks.

Her role in "Garden State" is pretty comparable to her role in "Beautiful Girls". It's sort of like the same role, just the character's grown up.

The Star Wars movies were abominations, but they are really more the exception than the rule. She was great in "V For Vendetta" and the beforementioned "Garden State." I can't speak of her role in "Closer" or anything else, since I haven't seen them.

She's only 27 years old. I think her career path is doing just fine.

I did enjoy Garden State. I also liked Closer, although many people seemed to hate it. A lot of her roles as an adult just haven't played to her strengths, Star Wars being the biggest example. She needs quirkier roles to play where he charisma can shine through.

Garden State is one of my top 5 movies of all time, and her character is a big reason for it, so I'd say with that movie alone she's on top of actresses for myself.

Closer was good, I agree with Kodos there. She was great in it (as was everyone else). V for Vendetta was good, and so was she. Star Wars isn't fair, I mean, would you turn down a chance to be in Star Wars? Who would have thought they would suck so much. No idea for other movies, but yeah since she's not even 30 yet, I'd say she's doing fine.

It's easy to say that now, but at the time it was a real coup for her.
She was relatively unknown and no one knew the movie(s) would be crap.
People were standing in line for weeks for this movie.

True. But for actress/starlet types it's more important what age she looks like than what age she actually is. Given that Portman looks like she's 17 or so, I think she'll be fine for a few more years at the very least.

I have never been to critical of Natalie. From The Professional, to Where the Heart Is, to Closer, I have enjoyed her work. Even when she chose lesser scripts like Mr Magorium and The Other Boleyn Sister. Star Wars was a no brainer. I would have been in Star Wars.

Closer is my favorite though, just fantastic, along with Clive of course. I have been known to refer to her as my girlfriend around the house. Not many movies of hers that I haven't seen to be honest.
