Is anyone doing a group for this?

I hope you didnt pick Weir...Mickelson leads after the first round.

I did - rebounded with a win last night but it is hard to build streaks when you pick against the guy who ends up at top of the leaderboard.

Set a new personal record today with a 7 win streak thanks to Stewart Cink and Liverpool. Not sure about what to pick tonight. Think I'm going with Texas Tech making more 3 pointers than Texas. Even when Texas killed TT earlier in the year, TT made more 3s. I'm figuring TT will be down most of the game and shooting more 3s than Texas.

I'm back up to 2 in a row!

I went w/ UConn tonight. I considered the TT/UT 3-pointer one, but talked myself out of picking b/c I figured Texas may get out to a lead and then TT could make (and shoot) a ton of threes at the end.

Up to 8 now thanks to Texas Tech. Trying to decide between Miami over Virginia or Purdue over Michigan for my next pick.

Picked my first hockey game ever going for a 5-win streak. And I lost. That's why I don't pick hockey.

I had a 6-win streak last week though, and I am over 20 wins for the month (easily my best month so far) Hopefully I can turn it around in March - I don't expect to get anywhere near 27, but I will be ready to go once the next round starts!

Streak of four. Do I take Cleveland on the road at Houston or Miami over Virginia?

I think I'll go Cleveland.

College basketball has been rather harsh lately.

I would go Miami if picking between those two contests. Even with Houston missing some pieces they have still been very good at home.

Basketball guru, I bow to your knowledge. Now, if I lose my streak I will have Vinnie pay you a visit.

Go Miami.

Thinking Wales over France tomorrow in rugby. I hate picking sports that I know nothing about, but everything indicates to me that Wales should win.

I'm not touching a sport I know nothing about...I don't care what the 'crowd' says. I've picked enough 'mob' selections in golf and soccer to know that the 'mob' is about 50/50 on their 98% selections.

I feel bad enough picking basketball, but at least I know if a team is ranked or has a lot of wins it means something to me.

FC Cologone over Armenia Bielefield shoudl be a very solid pick. It's a push in the event of a draw.

Cologne just beat Bayern Munich last week (the biggest/best team in Germany), and are excellent on the road. Armenia is terrible and total horseshit at home.

/soccer guy out

No longer a push on the draw - that said, do you still think the win only is a strong play?

Going with the rugby game cost me my streak. Oh well, everything I read said that Wales was a heavy favorite, I probably put more research into that then most of my picks. Back to 0. Go Turkoglu.

I joined the group. Tonight I picked the Lakers. Not a great choice on the road against a good team, but I didn't like any of the other choices, so I went with my team.

No longer push on the draw? I would say no then, fuck, soccer just becomes unbettable then unless you're betting on a home favorite.

(it ended up a draw btw)

Damn... this is a really tough game. Washington State over ASU ends my 4-game streak.

I have officially learned NOT to pick road teams, no matter how much better they appear to be, anymore.

I just realized today I can pick more than one game a day. Up until now I always made a pick towards the evening and didn't check back onto the site until the following day.

Correct. The leader this month had 68 correct picks. He hit 65% of his picks, which means he got a heck of a lot more than 1 pick a day in.

In my other group we compete each month for most wins, longest streak for month, and best winning % (min one game picked per day). It was a pretty exciting conclusion today with all players really tightly grouped for winning %. Actually kind of sad, as 52% won for the month. The start of February was just tough on all of us.

I'm putting my new "rule" to the test today, picking Illinois, at home, over Michigan State. My gut tells me Michigan State, but picking against home teams has killed me in this contest.

Woot, win streak of 3! Was hoping to make it back to pick Shaq and Barbosa over Bryant, but too late for that now. I might take Lebron tonight, he averages 31 on the road compared to 25 at home.
