Yep. I rarely watch golf, but I was glued to the tube these last few holes. Wow, what a finish.

:::sigh::: The agony of being a Dustin Johnson fan. Finally it looked like fate was going to go his way-both guys ahead of hit the kind of unbelievably bad shot Dustin would hit when he had a chance to win. Then on 17 hit closest to the pin all day to give him a good chance on 18. Great drive, and then incredible 2nd shot to get to the right tier on the green...and them fate reached up a hand and said...not so fast we haven't inflicted enough pain on you yet Dustin. I would have been overjoyed to have a playoff, but not to get even that...ouch.

I'm still trying to figure out how he three-putted from there. That was an epic loss. Spieth looked almost sorry to have won. It seemed like his family had to reassure him afterwards that it was OK to have won the tournament.

Exciting stuff down the stretch here. Great to see Spieth bounce back from the bad hole and put himself right back into it.

Exciting finish. Z. Johnson looks like he thinks he will win it. Even though a stroke down and several all golfers on the course.

What a finish. Putter did Spieth in.

First time there have been more than 2 players in a playoff at The Open since 2002.

This four hole playoff setup is going to be perfect with three players in it.

I love the four hole playoff, but not sure I follow why three players makes a difference?

More likely that it's going to be close at the end. With just two, the playoff can effectively be over after one or two holes.

Exactly. You're usually guaranteed that someone will falter early (as we've seen here over the first three holes). Helps to make sure there's a good finish.

Jason Day finally going to get his major. Incredible to think Spieth is going to break Tiger's 2000 record for combined score at all 4 majors.

FedEx playoffs should be REALLY good this year.

The field is just so talented these days. I mean there are 10-15 guys who would not at all be a surprise to win every tournament these days. Golf is as strong as it has been since I can remember.

McIlroy
Spieth
Day
Watson
D. Johnson
Z. Johnson
Walker
Fowler
Dufner
Rose

I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

It was great to watch the tourney yesterday. Awesome course.. I grew up a few minutes away and it's crazy what Kohler has done. Good stuff.

Agree on the quality of players. And it is still fun watching lefty and some of the "older" players.

I'm impressed with this young group. No BS. Just a quality group as humans. I hope we don't hear about Tiger anymore cited of golf headlines telling me Tiger is 10 strokes off the lead. When the headline should about the leaders.

64 and then a 65. That 65 could have easily been a 62 or 63. It's been fun to watch the last two days.

I wonder if it's all mental? A rather defenseless golf course, a weak field...strange to think that what once was considered one of his greatest strengths might now be what's keeping him down.

Crazy how much speed that ball picks up on the way back down. The precision required with greens that fast...yowza.

Speith did a pretty good Tin Cup impersonation there at 12

I left the room for a bit when it seemed like he had everything in control in the middle of his four birdies in a row and then I came back right when the disaster on 12 happened. What a shocker, certainly didn't expect that to happen to Spieth. What I did expect however was my man Dustin Johnson getting close yet again to winning his first major and choking it away with the double on 17 after Willett took the lead. Nice story though with Willett-he wouldn't have even been there if his wife had the baby when they were expecting her to this week.

Speith was gracious in his losing interview and Willett that's too cool for him especially given he was the last guy to enter the field.

Speith's record at the Masters career. T-2, 1st, T-2. Not bad, this one will smart though.
