7-3 Wyoming leads with 6 minutes in the first quarter, in the Wyoming-TCU game.

GT couldn't pull off a 2-point conversion to tie, but forced a quick punt from Maryland - trailing 26-28 with the ball about halfway through the fourth quarter.

You've never seen "jowls" before, have you?

Anyways, KU just put 6 on the board but botched the extra point snap, giving them only a 3 point lead, 27-24 with about 6 minutes to go.

How is Mangino a coach, doesn't he has to sign an insurance policy with the school?

Damn... Tech misses a 52-yard field goal with 0:54 to play that would have given them the lead. Plenty of distance, just hit it a few feet offline. GT has two timeouts, but it's going to take something huge to get back in it.

Maryland picks up the first down, and that'll be the game. If nothing else, this game was a good one for Taylor Bennett - 22 for 34, for 309 yards and a TD, particularly after a so-so first quarter.

1st down and I think that's game for KU, up 6 with 1 to go- KSU only 2 timeouts.

First win for KU in Manhattan since the 80s. A good chance to start 7-0 with Baylor and at Colorado next. But then the schedule gets brutal with @ Texas A&M, Nebraska, @ Okie State, Iowa State (breather), and then Mizzou @ Arrowhead.

technically, if they had won it wouldnt have been an upset...they were ranked #5, illinois was unranked...record aside, you cant call that an upset if they had

Yeah, a disappointing loss for Whisky, but not at all unexpected. In terms of talent, Illinois is close to the top of the Big 10. Its odd talent, though - Juice doesn't seem like the ideal qb for the offense they run, but somehow it works.

If this game were at home and Lance Smith were able to play Wisconsin probably wins, but without their best running back not having the playmakers on defense to be able to slow down the Illini offense I didn't think they'd be able to win. I think not having Smith at OSU is going to doom them also.

Who else is ready for Stanford/USC?!?! I have to be at work an hour after kickoff......Something tells me that isn't a bad thing.

Stanford backup QB Tavita Pritchard is making his first start, in place of fifth-year senior T.C. Ostrander, who had a seizure at Gordon Biersch last Sunday. Pritchard the nephew of former Washington State QB Jack "The Throwin' Samoan" Thompson.

The game is on versus at 4 pm pacific time. If anyone likes to see a massacre, tune in! I think the spread is Stanford +40.5

SI,

I was getting a little worried when Kansas started to implode late (dropped TD pass and interception off the helmet). Hopefully that will shut up the KSU fans who have been spouting blowout all week. I was not going to be a happy camper if Kansas gave that game away and I had to hear KSU fans spewing their nonsense all week. I've already heard a number of excuses from some KSU fans, lol.

Wyoming also beat Virginia to start the season, who has gone on to be pretty successful in the ACC so far - is Wyoming a better team then people thought?

You mean like Josh Freeman and his "we win that game 9 times out of 10" from last year

Don't get me wrong- we had a lot of things going for us. I was so happy KSU won last week because they'd be too high coming into a game where we had an extra week to prepare. Coach may be fat (morbidly so), but he's very good at preparation and he took a page out of the Bill Snyder book, giving KU a smart bye before going to Manhappiness.

I too was happy for the KSU win over Texas as well since it brought the national exposure to the game. It was great to see the Kansas - KSU game get the hype it deserved. Hopefully Kansas can follow it up with a good game over Baylor.

And I never said Michigan was good but let's face it, every team in the Big East who has gotten the ball has dropped it thus far. Not to say USF is done but Lousville, WVU and Rutgers have all have their chance to make everyone who says the Big East is awful eat crow and instead, they lose to teams who aren't even near the top of their conferences.

I thought the last 2 BCS wins over the SEC and ACC champs were pretty good. Plus the 5-0 bowl record last year.

Louisville has some serious defensive coaching issues, and Rutgers did choke a bit against Maryland, but WVU's loss this year was within the conference to the then #18 team in the country, and they are now in the top 10. I personally doubt USF has the offense to finish the year in the top 10, but I don't think that makes WVU's loss that embarrassing, especially not for the reputation of the conference.

USF is coming off the biggest win in the program's history. They played like it was the super bowl. I'm not the slightest bit surprised they are having a let down this week. It happens all the time in college football. That's all.

Illinois is 3-0 in the Big Ten. Iowa is looking to be 0-3. Just a year or so ago, Ron Zook was a punchline, and Kirk Ferentz was rumored to be headed to the NFL.

Tech looked good, especially when they kept doing the SAME THING over and over and over again and whooping us with it. Our defense, which has looked pretty solid all season, was really what let us down this week, almost lost the game for us. I don't know if it was just because Henderson was out, but they looked absolutely clueless out there. The number of times the ball was either run straight up the middle or we gave the QB way too much time and let him get off a bomb (how the HECK did we not sack him once!)...it was difficult watching that 2nd half, I must say.

Good to hear that Costa (I think that's his name) was moving his extermeties. That happened right in front of where I was sitting, and looked scary as hell. All we could see in the stands (at about the 20) was that he kept kicking his legs and wasn't acting "normally," it was seriously eerie. I haven't seen any injury update on Crummey, I think he either dislocated or broke his ankle. That's going to be a major blow.

We have a bye next week, hopefully Henderson will be healthy for homecoming on the 20th.

USC's offense is very disjointed so far with receivers dropping passes and a failure to move the ball consistently, but Havili just had one of the nicest 3rd down runs for 6 yards or so I've seen this year. Great second and third effort in which he looked like he was going to be stopped well short. A play or two later, a 31 yard pass gets them inside the 2, but that would never have happened without Havili making that play.

Having watched both of them play in several games this year, I'd definitely say so. Hill can pick up yards behind Wisconsin's great offensive line, but at 230 pounds he's rarely the physical of a runner. He'd gain more yardage if he were more willing to make contact instead of avoid it. Smith is an explosive back who I think is more of a more dangerous runner to opposing defenses than Hill.

Agreed. Very disappointing first half. Hopefully, Pete and the staff can make some adjustments in the 2nd half.

Yup. I also agree that they may or may not have the staying power to keep it up all season, but this was a typical trap game on FAU's home turf. Glad to see USF finish it, though. FAU's got some athletic players; their Tight End hurdled a USF player just after a catch when the USF player hadn't gone very far in his dive. The guy cleared something like 5 feet, twas pretty amazing.
