I see you have the double touchdown hookup with Cutler and Marshall. If they have a good season and Tomlinson doesn't get hurt, I can't see your team getting beat. Also, how does your team have two guys that should be taken in the 2nd round and another one in the late third to early fourth round? |

Matt Forte was taken in the 2nd and there were a lot of picks in the third round that I couldn't believe people were taking. McNabb, Welker, Coles for crying out loud...even Hasselbeck seemed early. |

I normally don't like these threads, mainly becuase my fantasy teams have generally sucked, but this time I feel pretty good about my team!
Keeper league, 14 teams, points for receptions, 1st downs, bonuses for big plays and multi-tackle games as well as the usual... QB - Carson Palmer (keeper) RB - Willie Parker (keeper) RB - Ryan Grant (keeper) WR - Wes Welker WR - Hines Ward WR - Anquan Boldin TE - Dustin Keller K - Mike Nugent DE - Justin Smith LB - DeMeco Ryans DB - Darrelle Revis Back-Ups QB - Trent Edwards QB - Chad Henne RB - LenDale White (keeper - I had 5 points spare, what can I say!) RB - Chris Johnson WR - Santana Moss WR - Eddie Royal WR - Derek Hagan WR - Matt Jones (Mr Irrelevant) TE - Zach Miller DL - Dwight Freeney LB - Jon Beason No stars, but I think I have a solid team for a change this year.

Yeah, thats indeed how it will go, though for the most part the players I took were some of the best at the slots I took them, palmer might have been 1 rnd early and I took Lynch over some other RBs due to what I've seen during the preseason and from last year. I think Lynch is going to be a real monster. The rest, if they play to their normal levels, should keep me in every game. I'm banking on palmer and Lynch givening me really big years though. Probably won;t happen ust BECAUSE I'm banking on it though. |

For some odd reason, I got the email a couple days ago that the draft would be at 10PM EST. I log on my email, start up the draft around 10:03PM just as I got home. I look at the draft, and the guy just drafted Nate Burleson. I'm thinking what the hell? Is this a joke? And then I look at the round, and it says Round 7. I don't know if this has happened to some of the leagues for you guys, but apparently the commissioner likes changing the draft times so that no one makes it. Luckily I picked up some [hopeful] sleepers. Weak WR core, I know, but I'm in the process of trading for one.
League Positions: QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, K, DEF QB: Drew Brees, Matt Ryan RB: Marshawn Lynch, Larry Johnson, Edgerrin James, Matt Forte, Ricky Williams, Deuce McAllister WR: Wes Welker, Chris Chambers, Reggie Brown, Vincent Jackson TE: Dallas Clark K: Jason Hanson DEF: Seattle Currently on the waivers trying to drop Matt Ryan for Justin Fargas and dropping Seattle DEF for the New York Jets DEF. Keep in mind that this was NOT a PPR league so Wes Welker's value isn't really that high. Anyways, looking to see if you guys have any suggestions on how to go with my team like which WR do you think I should go for? I'm looking to move any player if needed. I have another draft in a different league tonight at 10PM. Will post the rosters in that league later. |

Last weeks draft:
12 team PPR league.
QB: Kitna, VY RB: AP, Jacobs, DeAng Williams, Perry WR: Fitz, Holt, Evans, DeShaun Jackson, S.Moss TE: Cooley, McMichael Other than the QBs which I obviously waited on, this team screams championship. Hopefully roll AP and switch out RB#2 with matchups/health Same thing with Fitz/Holt, and find a spot starter between the others. Again, this was last week when I nabbed Chris Perry in the ninth round long after someone took Rudi. IF youre drafting today, he probably goes 4th round IMO.

Drafted this last week- 12 teams, PPR, all TDs 6 points, 1pt for 10 rush/rec, 1 pt for 25 pass
picked 12th QB: Brees (2.1), Edwards (16.1) RB: Lynch (1.12) Ronnie Brown (5.12) K Watson (8.1) Rudi Johnson (9.12) T Bell (13.12) WR: A Boldin (3.12) S Holmes (4.1) C Chambers (6.1) B Berrian (7.12) Bryant Johnson (10.1) Sid Rice (11.12) TE: A Crumpler (12.1) K: N Kaeding (14.1) D: Arizona (15.12) We start 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 2 flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 K and 1 D Intersting strategy by one of my good friends in the league: He grabbed WItten in round 4 and Winslow in round 5, so he'll start 2 TE most (all?) weeks. He got LT with the 2nd pick (AP went first, not real sure about that), then Colston and Braylon Edwards, then the 2 TEs. I honestly think he's the favorite right now, outside of Favre is his QB. I took Watson thinking he'd see most of the carries, then Rudi to hedge my bet. Perry went to someone else about a round later.

Oh yeah, big difference in quality at QB if your league is 4pts pass td or 6pts.

You did real well B&B, especially with the way Perry looks like it will work out.

I tried to push people towards Perry earlier. He's certainly not a top ten back and he's an injury risk, but especially in a PPR league he would have been great value.

Libid, your best option might be trying to package a RB and WR for a better WR. Just throwing out names here for example, but package one of Edge/Forte & one of your WR for a lower #1 tier/ upper #2 tier WR, like a Boldin or Burress.

Ok.. I'm pretty terrified of my team honestly. It's a 12 team league with Points Per Reception my philosophy was to draft as many good backs with good reception totals as possible.
you start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 rb or WR (flex), 1 TE, D, K Qb: Bulger, Rivers RB: Addai, Jones-Drew, McFadden, Ronnie Brown, Kenny Watson WR: Ocho Cinco, D. Bowe, Reggie Brown, Vincent Jackson, Mark Clayton TE: Tony Scheffler (there was a huge run so I basically punted the position.) D : Titans, Packers K : Gould |

How many teams? Really deep at WR. One injury away from problems at RB. QB leaves some questions, but with pass TD = 4 points, not as damaging possibly. Schaub might be your best bet.

I would go San Diego's D just because they can grind it out with LT and control the clock. As for Williams vs. James, hmm. James has been a roster-spot killer for me the last two years but I'm still inclined to start him over Ricky Williams but for me, it's close to a coin-toss there. |

I draft tonight in a ppr league. Does anyone have a link to a decent and free either ADP or recent mock draft for a ppr league? Most of the recent mock drafts I'm finding (mockdraft.com, draft calculator, etc.) are for non-ppr leagues. Thanks for any help.

Okay, why not. One more here.
Background = longstanding league, mostly conventional lineup (QB-2RB-2WR-TE-DF, no kickers), passing TD count same as rush/rec, league is historically RB crazy I have pick #2 overall, tried unsuccessfully to trade down a few slots (targeting Brady) but ended up making a major trade to move into mid-2nd round. - - - - - Hasselbeck, Matt QB SEA Garrard, David QB JAC Peterson, Adrian RB MIN Forte, Matt RB CHI Williams, Ricky RB MIA Johnson, Chris RB TEN Hightower, Tim RB ARI Hall, Andre RB DEN Moss, Randy WR NE Johnson, Calvin WR DET Moss, Santana WR WAS Bryant, Antonio WR TB Daniels, Owen TE HOU Cardinals DST - - - - - So, the pivotal decisions: -Traded a lot to get Moss. Basically swapped pick #26 for a 6th rounder to move up a few slots to #17 and get Moss in mid-2nd. I had Moss around #8 on my board overall, so I basically overpaid for the draft slot, but maybe not for the player (in my mind). -Passed on RB depth or Cutler to take WR Calvin Johnson at pick #50. I end up with Hasselbeck (and Garrard soon afterward), but I liked Cutler a good deal better and some solid WRs (including Roy Williams) fell to my next pair of picks. -I'm resigned to playing weekly matchups with my D, and the Cards open with a few weak opponents, so this is just the beginning of doing so. They'll get cut once they face a legitimate offense or two. |

It's going to be difficult for you to start 2 of your backs. I guess your looking at Ap and Forte to start? I like your Wr's alot though so hopefully they can carry you some weeks where your 2nd rb faulters!

Yeah, I'm expecting Forte to be pretty much a full-time back -- I think fairly unheralded backs like that tend to be great value in fantasy drafts. Our ability to predict how good teams will be is generally pretty overrated, I think. Anyhow, I took Forte ahead of a few more trendy picks (e.g. Selvin Young went with the next pick, but I like Andre Hall to get a lot of time there and maybe GL duty) but I'm pretty happy with him. It was dicey not getting a third RB early, but I just couldn't pass up the big shiny object there at WR (Calvin) whom I had rated in my top 6-8 at the position.

Here is my draft that I went through last night. I had the 4th pick in a 10 team league.
1.4 - Steven Jackson 2.7 - Marques Colston 3.4 - Drew Brees 4.7 - Michael Turner 5.4 - Greg Jennings 6.7 - Edgerrin James 7.4 - Roddy White 8.7 - Matt Forte 9.4 - Ted Ginn, Jr. 10.7 - Ray Rice 11.4 - Eddie Royal 12.7 - Felix Jones 13.4 - Neil Rackers 14.7 - Jon Kitna 15.4 - Jacksonville 16.7 - Ben Watson My own observations... I took Royal too early for a sleeper. With this group of folks, he would lasted for a while. I didn't want to take Brees because if NOS has a bad week, I am likely screwed. Problem was, he was the best pick available at the time. There wasn't a WR or RB worth taking in this spot. My other choice was Jason Whitten. You see how my TE ended up. I got to a point where all of the TE worh picking were gone, so I think I lucked out getting Watson when I did. I think I did alright overall. This is a league that I have played in for 9 years. There are 7 original owners in the league. Of those 7, I am the only one who hasn't won the league. No one outside of the original group has won yet. |

Hey guys, any advice would be good here. I feel that this is probably one of the weaker teams I've put together but we'll see. I'm in a 10 team league, I picked 4'th (I didn't want to be at the 4 or 5 spot and got the 4 of course). We are a PPR league. Here's our scoring:
Passing: 1 pt per 20 yds, 6 for a td, -2 for a pick Receiving: 1 pt per catch, 1 pt per 20 yds, 6 for a td Rushing: 1 pt per 10 yards, 6 for a td, -2 for a lost fumble D/ST: 1 pt per 20 return yards, 1 for a sack, 2 for a pick/fumble recovery 0 points allowed=10 pts, 1-6 allowed=7, 7-13=4, 14-20=1, 21-27=0, 28-34= -2, 35 or higher is a -4 K: 3 pts for FG 18-39 yds, 4 for 40-49, 5 for 50+ 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 D, 1 K QB- Hasselbeck (round 8), Favre (11) RB- Steven Jackson (1), Portis (2), Jacobs (6), Selvin Young (10), Rudi Johnson (13) WR- Fitzgerald (3), Burress (4), Bowe (7), Galloway (9), Reggie Brown (12) TE- Witten (5) DEF- NY Giants (14) K- Rackers (15) I guess there's a lot of risk/reward at RB but I do not feel confident that this is even a .500 team. Am I right or wrong on that? Last edited by PurdueBrad : 09-04-2008 at 07:18 AM. Reason: added round drafted in paranthesis |

I'm leaning towards starting Gore/Addai/Bush/Jennings/Boldon. Is Calvin Johnson going to be a better play than Bush or either of the WR? I'm not sure which way to go here. No PPR. |

Spleen, looking at your 4'th overall pick and mine, it's interesting just how different our drafts played out. Colston and Brees both were off the board by my second pick although I would've been happy to see one fall to me. Turner was actually off the board by my third. I think, as the season goes and some of your younger RBs get established, you may be able to move one of them or (more importantly) Edgerrin for another receiver to gear up for the playoffs. |
