I think Mustang is getting help from Bucc. Great pick, if perhaps a little early.

Interesting Start. There will obviously be a ton of personal preference showing in this draft, possibly more than in any other, but i have to say that my own top 10, possibly top 20 are all still on the board halfway through the first round so I'm pretty happy
Leia is a very intriguing pick. Probably early but also seems pretty likely to be considered the top pick in the category. the other 3 so far, even Kournikova, seem pretty suprising. |

WTF people!??!?!
This is a sex symbol draft. We're like 10 picks in and there is exactly one person drafted so far that I would have sex with. AND I AM SO NOT PICKY AT ALL!!!! |

Elvis was a great pick, even as a dude. Should've been at worst #2 behind Marilyn. I mean, I wasn't around for it, but isn't it true that parents forbid their daughters from watching/listening to rock and roll music because of his sex symbol status? That deserves plenty of weight.

I think this is the mistake. "Sex Symbol" does not mean "I think she's hot." These people should be more than that -- even if you don't find them attractive. They should be accepted as an embodiment of sexual desire for a culture/generation. That's my opinion at least.

Actually I have never been much of a fan of hers (Kournikova). I just popped back over and saw I was up so I went with what I thought was the obvious one for the category. Maybe I am a few years behind the curve on this one.

Given the fact the participants in this draft have never had sex, I guess the oddball picks aren't that suprising.

thanks. I was a little worried about the generation gap, but if you don't know that Elvis basicly defined sex symbol along with Monroe then by all means vote for Shia. I was torn between 2 picks, my other one is still there. |

My post was half tongue in cheek, but I am wildly surprised at some of the choices. I mainly just like to tweak the contestants in these things because that's part of the fun, IMO. |

My only concern with picking Elvis was the horny guy factor. I'm not sure how male picks outside of the categories that obviously require males is going to play.

Great choice with Elvis. There's more than enough hot girls left for other spots to satisfy the horny guy factor.

I agree, but we'll see. Honestly I had him in mind and then forgot when it came time to pick (that's what happens when there's 5 days between signup and actual draft )

I'll say it right now...I am only picking people I would have sex with as far as women go.
Judging by the voters here I think that most will vote based on the head not on their shoulder. Last edited by Dr. Sak : 05-27-2008 at 11:32 AM. |

I'm not saying you should pick Nancy Reagan, but just being willing to have sex with someone does not mean they are a good selection.

how can you be a sex symbol but generally regarded as substandard to sleep with?

You are mixing my logic. There are individuals that are sex symbols and desirable to sleep with, and there are individuals that are merely desirable to sleep with.

And, fwiw, the early front runners and head scratchers are rarely the same by the end of the draft.

My wife and I occupied a good part of our 10 hour car ride home yesterday with discussing this draft.
I think there will be alot more room for interpretation in this one. Especialy the appeals to older/younger catergories. |

By far. There's a lot more subjectivity, differences in taste and lack of restrictions in this draft compared to previous ones. I have no idea how picks are going to be interpreted or strategies are going to play out. There are a lot of strategies that I think are questionable but could end up as big wins (that I have not seen anyone employ yet). I think the "big picture" is going to be the key here. There are very few clear-cut first round picks. 1.2 was an obvious one -- Elvis potentially (but as discussed, still a possible bad choice). I can only think of 1 or 2 other clear-cut first round selections. And people will still argue with those 1 or 2.

#1) I'm quite confused by bsak's venom for my pick.
#2) It occurs to me that cronin said to email him. I will do that.

He should get a member of the Golden Girls each pick he misses. Then you move on to the male leads of Cocoon(not Guttenberg).
