A few more details...
Tucker's had the ball 3 times in the first half. Drive one...missed field goal. Drive two...TD. Drive 3...3 and out (partially blocked punt). Statesboro has had the ball 4 times. Drive one...two first downs and a punt. Drive two...TD. Drive 3...3 and out. Drive 4...field goal. I spoke with Ben, and he confirms its anyone's ball game. Tucker seems to be able to move the ball against a very good Statesboro defense, but it hasn't resulted in a lot of points. Statesboro's offense just sucks time off the clock. The first drive of the second half will be key. |

It's hard pulling for Tucker (sorry Ben ) because Statesboro runs the wishbone like my high school did when I played.
Edit - Tucker scores with 6 minutes left in the third to go up 14-10. The offensive line is really taking it to Statesboro. Last edited by VPI97 : 11-19-2004 at 08:21 PM. |

Huge, huge drive by the Tigers.
Big 3rd down scamper to keep it alive on the first set of downs by Dewayne Harris. |

Listening to the game on the radio webcast. The guys just mentioned that Statesboro is complaining to the refs that Tucker is cut blocking.

Wow...Tucker punts again, but it was almost another block. The snap bounced back to Young (the punter) and he barely go it off in time. If they have to punt a few more times, I definitely could see it costing Tucker. |

Damn...Tucker stops them on 4th and 8 from the 25 only to throw a pick on the next play.
End of the third and Tucker leads 14-10...Statesboro has the ball around the Tucker 35. |

Yes! Big third down pass to get the first around the 50. The big thing for them to to keep possession and keep the clock moving. Eight minutes left.

Since I don't have Comcast cable & can't get the webcast from 790 to work, I'm counting on this thread to keep me updated

Tucker defense looks tired...Stateboro getting 6-7 yards per carry.
Edit - Spoke too soon...stopped for an 8 yard loss. Last edited by VPI97 : 11-19-2004 at 08:55 PM. |

Going down to the wire, just like most of the games elsewhere in the state tonight.
Elsewhere so far -- Valdosta has lost to Walton, Cartersville has upset Shaw, Salem by 8 over Griffin with 4 min to go, Laney just took a 34-28 lead on Vidalia with 3 mins left

Replay shows that a Tucker player got enough penetration to grab at the running back's feet before he leaped....as a result he didn't get the height needed to go over the top.
Statesboro still has three timeouts. |

How about running it twice (thus making SB to take 2 timeouts) and then taking the safety?

0:55 - 4th and 3 - At least Tucker got room to punt
I'd take the safety here...their punter has a hell of a leg when he gets time to kick (i.e. free kick) |

If S'boro has a good/great kicker, I punt.
If they don't, I give the safety.

Tucker lined up in regular formation and ran it out the back of the endzone.
The scary thing is that Harris took the snap and almost fell down at the 5 before getting back to the end zone. |
