Anyone been to the Varsity in Atlanta? I still have nightmares from the chili dogs. I could hardly walk back to Georgia Tech's football field after my belly ache.

I still have my Varsity hat.

When Kodos approached me about voting Marmel out I had no idea how strong any of the alliances were. I did have a solid understanding that Marmel was running the show, and that I felt I was on the outside looking in and had little, if no, control over my destiny as long as he was still in the game. So I thought Kodos' move was rather brilliant and threw a wrench into what may have been a very scripted ending.

The original pact was SplitP and myself, and then we pulled Kodos in, and figured we could cruise to the final 3. AE and Radii played the game, so that was a great group of 5.

When it got down to us final 5, splitP, myself and Kodos were still a pretty solid group, but I think both Kodos and I wanted to bring each other into the final 2 because it weas unlikely we would beat the 'nice guy' SplitP.

Radii was going to go next, but he won immunity, so it had to be AE. I thought the vote was decided, and then AE emailed me asking who to vote for. I told him it was a tough decision, but it was Kodos (even though it was him). I guess AE went and talked to Kodos and Splits after that....that is when the plan backfired.

In retrospect, I should have emailed the other guys again and told them what I told AE. OR, I should have asked AE who should go next, and let him make the decision.........

either way this has been a lot of fun, even though it has not been a stellar example of group participation.

Maybe somebody else will get another one going sometime.

Varsity hamburgers are scary. Varsity ANYTHING with Chili is scary. Don't eat anything with Chili from the varsity if you have to leave the bathroom the next day.

I walked by the Varsity every work day for 1 1/2 years from late 95 to sometime in '97... minus the time we got kicked off campus for the olympics.

Varisty Ice Cream is *great* .. the rest of the food there is not worth the hype IMO.

Marmel didn't learn from the show: Usually, the person who tries running the show gets voted out eventually. I think Richard was the exception.

I never tried to run the show, but SplitP and AE kept emailing me as soon as the voting thread went up. I didn't know what else to tell them other than pick somebody. Then I had to tell Kodos so we would all vote together. I guess you all respect me so much that you just looked to me for the leadership.

Wow, and to think I only won that immunity challenge by a matter of seconds on two of the three trivia questions. God bless high speed internet.

Part of my strategy was to let Marmel run the show through most of the game, just going along with whoever he suggested we oust. I figured this would eventually lead to me being able to start a rebellion against him if I needed one.

Looking back at the road so far

The journey's left its share of scars

mostly from leaving the narrow and straight

Looking back it is clear to me

That a man is more than the sum of his deeds

and how you've made good of this mess I've made

is a profound mystery

Looking back you know you had to bring me through

(All that I was so afraid of)

(Though I questioned the sky, now I see why)

(Had to walk the rocks to see the mountain view)

Looking back I see your lead of love

Looking back I can finally see

How failures bring humility

Brings me to my knees

Helps me see my need for Thee

Looking back you know you had to bring me through

(All that I was so afraid of)

(Though I questioned the sky, now I see why)

(Had to walk the rocks to see the mountain view)

Looking back I see your lead of love

Had to walk the rocks to see the mountain view.

Looking back I see the lead of love.

Marmel is right about splits. I figured there was no way to beat him in the final. He was doing the classic Survivor under-the-radar strategy, and doing a damn fine job of it.

The Dean Houstons were all eliminated a while ago. It's been all Dolas for a while.

We threw a couple challenges to help our displaced Dolas survive until the merger.

I forgot about that Kodos. It is true, we threw a couple of challenges and figured we could just vote of brad and Swaggs no problem, and save Radii and SplitP.

However, even before all of this started, before stkelly split the teams up, there was a heybrad, Swaggs, Schmidty, Marmel alliance that was destined for the final 4.

I still maintain that Kodos screwed it all up. It could have been you, me and SplitP in this challenge, and our posting prowess would guarantee one of us would win, and then it would have been you and I in the final 2, Alien.

You would at least have had a 50/50 chance against me in teh fianl 2. You stand NO chance to win this against either Radii or AE. The best you can do now is 2nd place.

I'm trying to read some of the old posts...but it's going slowly.

Marmel, I didn't rat you out...it was more of a "feel you out". Kodos had already approached me. I was just trying to see what you'd say. No offense, mon ami.

AE, I have no problem with you at all. As far as I knew, you were next to go, so I can't blame you for saving your own ass.

Actually, like I said before, I enjoyed the game no matter the outcome, and got to know some of you guys better. No hard feelings anywhere (except for the nasty Alien )

7 minutes on that post kodos!

At some point in the next 2 hours I'm going to have to figure out why my install of WinCVS won't work. I fear this may require a reboot. I think I can drag that out for the rest of the day though.
