Yeah, made for a very fun night out in Vegas and a great way to finish my trip - although the hangover made for a fun 15 hour flight home.

Sorry dude. LA was probably the busiest overall place we went, with no "chill days" - having no car didn't help either, as the buses made for slooooow travelling. Where abouts in LA are you located? As for money... yah. I'd hate to sit down and calculate it all, but I will say that we went away with 1 luggage between the two of us, and came home with 4. I had a surprisingly decent bonus early in the year that paid for most of our flights and accom (and some credit card debt), and with 9 or so months of saving our cash lasted us until the 3rd last day in Las Vegas, at which point we were officially on credit. I think I spent more in that 3 days than I had at any other 3 day period of the trip unfortunately. Turns out Vegas is an expensive place to visit, who'da thunk it. Highlights for me were probably the more scenic side of things - loved Niagara Falls, Venice Beach/Santa Monica, Grand Canyon, and the New Orleans swamps - although had a ball out at night in Vegas, NY, and New Orleans too, and it was great to meet an FOFC'er after all these years of posting. Very few "bad" experiences outside of a cancelled flight from LAX->NY that lost us most of a day, but I have nothing but good things to say about how Delta Airlines helped us out, especially our missing luggage situation which was entirely the fault of a different airline. Also had a couple of moments in San Fran where we wandered into some bad areas by mistake that were a little too 'exciting' for our tastes... But outside of some aggressive heckling, we were fine. I will also grudgingly admit that, despite the stereotyping you guys get about your burger loving ways, I'll be damned if I didn't eat some mighty fine burgers the past 4 weeks. Umami burger in LA... wow!
