They were getting too much hype for me to buy into it. And add in the fact that I am Big Ten homer, so I saw them losing in the second round.

Yeah my dad's a Big Ten homer too and he's going to give me a lot of shit tomorrow over this one.

What a great day!

WVU over Duke to get into the S16 and now Pitt loses, continuing their streak of playing poorly in the NCAA tournament.

UCLA should be thankful Acie Law graduated. These were the times he would nail 3s regularly last season.

If WVU and UCLA meet up, Love will go for about 40 points and 20 rebounds against us.

Tim Duncan is laughing at the thought of Kevin Love even thinking about using that fadeaway on him.

This is also the first time in the last 20+ years that the first two rounds and a subsequent regional were in North Carolina, so this has not been possible to happen before.

Quite a bit of this is due to getting sick of some of the scheduling crap the last two years. And yes, I mention this because Memphis has gotten screwed the last two years. Last year they faced a 3 seed in T A&M in San Antonio and this year they get a number 2 seed in Texas in Houston (a number 2 seed who was not the #3 2 seed supposedly). Whereas Memphis is hosting a regional next year so no matter what Memphis is getting shipped some place else next year.

Yes, I understand they don't want teams playing on their home floor, but many of these state schools get de facto home games when they play in some of these locales, NC and Duke in Charlotte or Greensboro, Illinois in Chicago, Indiana in Indy, Kansas in Kansas City, Texas in any Texas town, etc. I mean how do you not expect a partisan crowd when the state school is playing in one of the largest cities in their home state? Hell you could also say the same thing about UCLA in Anaheim this year. You think UCLA wins that game in Phoenix?

My thing is if this is set up years in advance you either let teams play on their home court, or you don't let teams play in their home state, except in the Final Four.

Of course, no in-depth talk on the Badgers.

I do believe that there will be more talk on the matchup that could be Georgetown vs Wisconsin though. If Davidson pulls off the upset tomorrow, Wisconsin will be 'lucky' to be in the Elite 8 if they continue to beat lower seeds.. so no respect will be garnered at that point.

I think I'd take the 4-time champ, 3-time Finals MVP, 2-time league MVP over the guy who was planning to go to prom this time last year.

Not saying Duncan isn't better, but Kevin Love has been trained by his dad and former pro's all of his life...

I'd just like to jump in here and say that I expect Tyler Hansbrough to score 40 and get 25 rebounds tomorrow and possibly be anointed as a saint in the process by the pope, who may be in attendance.

PS. Just trying to keep up with the homerism here guys, its tough but I'll do my best to represent

And the NCAA will grant a special waiver that will allow Kevin Durant, Daniel Gibson, and LaMarcus Aldridge to play for Texas for the remainder of the tournament. Although it might not matter, since Love has been trained by his dad and former pros his whole life.

He would have graduated in 2005, so he wouldn't be eligible for this special waiver.

That's probably a good thing. Wisconsin has beaten two inferior teams in a solid, consistant fashion. That's presumably exactly what you want to see as a Wisconsin fan and just isn't going to generate conversation. Wisconsin is flying *slightly* under the radar, which is a great place to be.

Fuck respect. Wins are all that matters I hope you aren't rooting for Georgetown so that your team can get respect! With final four births comes respect. 20 years from now no one will remember or care if Wisconsin somehow played a 14 seed, 11 seed, 10 seed and 12 seed(worst case) to get to the final four. They'll just know that Wisconsin made a final four.

Plus, don't forget the thread here, and pretty much everywhere i bet, talking about how absurd it was that Wisconsin wasn't a 2 seed. You guys have respect already as it is! Georgetown is a really good team, so is Kansas. Just because people think those teams are likely to beat Wisconsin doesn't mean that they don't think Wisconsin is good.

I am having trouble caring about this but it was pretty evident in real time, too:

A&M got fucked. Serves them right, dunk and all, since they pulled the same crap on Baylor a few weeks ago. Karma.

Nah. A&M screwed themselves over earlier in the game. It was poorly reffed game from both ends. Shame on TAMU for putting themselves in that position

Today's lineup of games doesn't look that interesting. Nova-Siena is actually the only game at noon. Butler-Tennessee could be good. Davidson is an interesting team, but they're playing Georgetown. It'll be tough to top yesterday.

Sienna looks bad. . . .

Davidson has won some 20 games in a row. That alone will make for an interesting game. Of course its more interesting to me since Wisconsin plays the winner.

Villanova having its way with Siena. They really should have put another game in this timeslot. They've got 4 games starting between 2:15 and 2:50. And 3 games starting between 4:45 and 5:20 as they try and squeeze all of the games in before primetime.
