I cant believe anyone would take a QB #1 overall who in his biggest moment as a college QB literally puked his guts out due to nerves....Not exactly Joe Montana joking about seeing John Candy in the Super Bowl

As a Michigan fan I am happy for Les Miles. He couldn't take the UM job because of the circumstances but everyone knows he is a Michigan man at heart and that is something you don't forget.

That said, SEC speed and such is overrated. It's easy to be fast when you aren't playing in 30 and 40 degree weather have the season. That one fact annoys me to know end.

Tressel takes a good deal of blame for the overagression thats lead to fouls.

He played up the whole disrespect angle for WEEKS. You get a great team playing great by focus on playing and thinking smart every play, not by becoming part of the circus.

A big difference in the game so far has been the overaggressive penalties when Ohio State has let their emotions get the better of them.

Tressel is a great coach, don't get me wrong, but it's overblown. His biggest wins are games he outcoahed Lloyd Carr and Larry Coker. Now I love Lloyd but you know what you got with him, and same for Coker.

I think his shine is coming off as the bigger games come by, and early next year vs USC will be another sign of it.

I mean Morgan Trent on UM chased Percy Harvin, arguably the fastest guy in the SEC down from behind. And the Michigan WR's blew by the Florida DB's. Big Ten weather makes it tougher to play in.

Let's get this clear.

Are you saying that the Big-X athletes are not actually slower, they just look slower because they play inw orse weather.. or are you saying that Big X players are slower because they have to play in cold weather?

If the Big Ten is so slow, I wonder how they have so many players in the NFL. They must be involved in some sort of conspiracy to tamper with the stopwatches at the combine to make their players appear faster than they really are.

Apparently the Big 10 plays their games on Maxmium Foobtall.

Let me just come out and say that all this "Conference A is so fast, Conference B is so slow," no matter what the conferences are, is the dumbest shit I've ever heard.

fwiw, i agree.

I was only calling out DeToxRox because I thought he was saying Big Ten athletes are slower because of the weather.

I only argue that the SEC is better, not faster.

Shows how good Dorsey is, its a sub-par game for him and he has 5 tackles and a sack.

He looks 80%(as opposed to the 60% he was after the Auburn game), at 100% hes good for a sack a game and 6-8 tackles. Thats very very very good for a DT.

Only thing I could see called on that ugly sack/fumble thing earlier was the blow to the head. Could have been called a personal foul and would have given the drive new life, but meh.

Bek is proving today that you really need that go-to QB in big games. He has made some bad judgement throws, and has not handled the pressure on him at all.

The real turning point, as someone has mentioned above, has been the Buckeye's complete inability to control their emotions and getting assinine penalties at key moments.

I'm not thrilled at all with the play calling either, but its hard to argue with Tressel's results over the years. He wins a lot of games, but I think he out-thinks himself when it comes to the Big games sometimes.

Off the top of my head in the past 10 years

Galloway Glenn Ginn Boston Jenkins Holmes Rambo Gonzalez

There's around 250 NFL players from each conference (depending on my searches it varies, looks like about 260 for the SEC and around 245 for the Big Ten)... I'm not sure that pulling 12 guys out of a hate tells you much here.

That being said, I wouldn't attempt to claim what position group they come from without actually seeing some data.

Edit: Doh, you said OSU. There were around 30 players from OSU so that would make more sense.

Interesting note about the players for the Buckeyes, 3 seniors on the squad...this entire cast, hopfully with a better QB could be back here next year. 3 Title games in 6 years, granted with only 1 championship, but hey, only USC has a better record in recent years.

As an LSU fan, I can't begin to describe how this feels.

I started school at LSU in '99, the last DiNardo year. We were something like 3-8 and finished with a loss to Houston. Still every game I was first in line as a LSU football loving freshman.

LSU won the SEC in '01, and that by itself seemed like a miracle step forward.

Less than a decade later, and LSU is perhaps the best program of this decade? Just amazing and indescribable. Amazing how quickly things can change in the sporting world.

Ha, well they got one AP and one BCS. I am not going to say that that AP one is meaningless, but I find it hard to believe that someone else viewing it objectively would say its just as meaningful as winning the BCS game.
