My SS I created a little over a week ago got an award (3rd in FF). This is pretty good considering he had 2 FF in 4 games.

Yes. The defense has been fantastic. We haven't been scoring that much more more than usual, but we've been keeping the opposing offense under control. Everything will need to fall in place for us to pull out a win.

Any FOFC'ers going to be free agents that aren't already on a FOFC team. I really depth on both lines and a good fullback.

Once again, my MLB for the Silverbacks, Robert DeMinas, is underperforming. What am I missing, and what should I be focusing training on? Here's his stats -- could someone more savvy in the game tell me what I'm screwing up on?

Look at one of the best LBs in the game: http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/3...resultsos7.jpg As you can see it's all about physical ratings, mainly speed and agility with some vision and tackling. As in real life, physical attributes are the most important ones at every position besides QB and some specialized ones.

I've focused a lot on speed. I'm level nine and have an enhanced speed of 30. I played all three LB slots over ten games and had 74 tackles and 4 ffum. In watching PbP I'm convinced my most important attribute is speed.

I'm convinced that there is potentially one single attribute in each position group that is king. OLine appears to be strength, LB appears to be speed.

Tim Harper said that he chose speed because he knew he couldn't out muscle the linemen, but that he recognized a LB needs more strength and tackling than his has. He did make the leaderboard for his conference in missed tackles.
I think one problem a MLB can face is a great blocking FB gets on you and you can't get past him. For that you either need better strength to fight through the block, or be so much faster and more agile that he can't catch up to you. I think the MLBs priority should be figuring out how to neutralize a great FB and still make the tackle. That could mean pumping the strength up a bit, but not at the expense of everything else that's important. Because it's true you can't really get the strength to overpower anyone on the OL and still be an effective LB. (But that's why the NT needs to demand a double team.) Going the speed route could make sense, but for those of us who are already balanced, maybe going strength would be the faster alternative. Last edited by dbd1963 : 04-15-2008 at 09:12 AM. |

It looks like we match up well against Fresno. They're better than us running the ball, but our run defense is better than theirs. Everywhere else (aside from kicking...where they have a significant advantage over us) we're even. Should be a fun game.

I've built a decent MLB that just made lvl 8. My key stats are:
tackling 31 strength 24 vision 24 speed 24 and he seems to be doing well with those, had 4 tackles in the first playoff game and he's only missed 1 tackle in the 9 games he's played. LB seems to be a hard one to balance though because I think each of those skills are needed to make a good all around LB. |

I just noticed that my DE won an award for most sacks for the season. That's pretty funny considering I only had 7 and 4 of them were in one game.

Awesome, they have added team chemistry now:
Here's how it works, and this is to reward teams who stay together for a while: - For every day that you don't add or remove somebody from your offense, defense, or team in general, your chemistry in the appropriate bar goes up by 1. This will process at day change. This means you can gain up to 40 chemistry if you stay together for a whole season and don't make any changes. - For every player that you drop or trade away, you lose 3 chemistry from the appropriate bars (1 if it's a CPU). - For every player that you add to your team, you lose 2 chemistry from the appropriate bars. - This means: if you make a trade of a player for a player, you lose 3-5 chemistry. If you make a trade of a player for cash, you lose 1-3 chemistry. - Chemistry will work similar to morale and energy in that affects your team's performance on the field. It won't affect it nearly as much as energy or morale, but it will have an effect. A team with good chemistry will play better than a team with poor chemistry. - The minimum chemistry you can have is 10. The max is 100. - A player leaving due to an expiring contract does not affect chemistry. - Chemistry will not affect teams during this season in the playoffs. It will start on day 1 of season 2. We will reset every team's chemistry to 70 before the first games of season 2 run. You will be able to make moves during the off season to prepare for the upcoming changes.

This might suck for me : I've got a QB who isn't progressing because he is the backup (no playing time at all) and still on the CPU team salary (relaxed training). I asked for a trade but it didn't happen because of the playoffs, with this new rules I might have to wait for the end of my contract... |

Still won't help him though. Can't make moves right now except to cut people. This won't stop me in the slightest way from cutting a pain in the ass or signing either a good player, or another FOFC'r that wants on a team.

Wow, huge game by my TE today in the playoffs game:
TE Big Hands Carrillo 6 catches 71.5 yards 11.9 ypc 2.4 yac 2 TD He is a backup in that team but this performance should boost him as we won 14-10 with my 2 TD's. I'm boosting only his receiving abilities so he is more of a receiver than blocker. Here is the final game winning TD in the 4th Q, huge mistake by the LB who left him alone. http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=1146989 Now is going to play in the championship game.

RA, I'm not sure if owners can sign players during this period of time or not. I think there might be a freeze until after the playoffs are over.
