I think they figure that lunchtime is already busy enough and they'd get slammed and hurt their core business. I bet from 2-5, they're dead and so, this would be a nice way to spike business at that time and maybe people grab a drink or something when they're there.

Still reading the rest of the thread, but my favorite was:

I'm giddy with anticipation to hear what sort of ridiculousness they'll say about Denver when they get there.

Dude, this is Fox. Packing the broadcast with graphics and sound effects > your silly facts.

I wish there were an alternate broadcast "EPL FanZone" style where you had a fan of each team arguing throughout the broadcast, it'd be far better than McCarver and Buck.

Especially if it were some huge Red Sox apologist from western Mass who had a heavy accent and some Rockies fan trying to understand what the DH is.

Sheesh, that's like 5 straight pitchers who wasn't able to go five innings against the Sox. You kinda saw it coming, the pitcher was getting wilder, and the Sox don't swing at many bad pitches.

I had no idea those guys were still singing.

They didn't appear to still be singing well mind you, but singing nonetheless.

They are from Philly. But last night, Ashanti sang and I know she's got no Boston connection. I started to make a snark comment about how, the declining numbers of blacks in baseball, forced MLB to compensate by having black singers sing God Bless America, the irony of which on a number of levels just made me laugh.

But thought the better of it.

Until now, of course.

I wonder how well the city will support the Rockies if it takes them another 30 years to get back to the World Series. Or 86.

Bad move on Holiday's part, leaning the other way. But a great pickoff for a righty.

Ugh. Not sure about the call (He looked to still be in the batters box).. but why the hell is he bunting in that situation.

edit: Just out of curiosity, how would you score that in a scorebook? Bunt Out?

I'd reverse that - Okajima pitched 2 1/3 innings at a time when it was vital, without a hit. Great performance.

I wonder what Dan O'Dowd did to make G-d angry between the NLCS and now.

For context:

'You look at some of the moves we made and didn't make,' general manager Dan O'Dowd said in the only interview he has given on the subject, long before the Rockies' remarkable ascension over the past few weeks. 'You look at some of the games we're winning. Those aren't just a coincidence. God has definitely had a hand in this.'
