Do we know what the tie-breaker for lynch is? We could write a bill about that (not that I know exactly what that would be)...

Or we could have a sabatage bill which makes anyone who uses their power to rig someone else's election to either 1) have it possibly backfire on themselves or 2) have it released to the media so that everyone knows who sabotaged it.

Yeah, I was thinking that my election tonight could be interesting. A wolf might want to get me out of office now that I'm cleared (although that's less important now since I'd still be able to vote for wolves). |

I have that power so I am a little hesatant on the backfire piece of it. When you sabatouge someones election they are told who did it in a PM so a bill like that may be redundant but a good way to confirm it. |

I really need someone to explain to me why we arent voting for a republican today.
We have a 9-6 advantage, if we take out another republican it is 9-5. |

Yeah, but if someone were to rig your election tonight to get you out of the game, you wouldn't be able to tell us who did it because you'd be out of the game. And (not trying to be too suspicious here), we only have your and Chubby's word on that, and the fact that you guys are saying that you were sabotaged by the 2 players who are currently out of the game (they can't answer the charges) leaves me wanting more. |

I'm not saying that I believe that's what happened. It's just a weird coincidence that has me thinking. And I think it's good to have the sabotage announced publicly to the congress. I don't think I'd want to sabotager to be announced to the media because that would imply a popularity hit. There may be times when we want to try to use this to ouster a suspected wolf and wouldn't want the person doing it to have to take a pop hit as long as everyone knew. The way I see it is that the rigging of elections is another possible tool in the toolbox of the wolves. If we make it less likely they can use it on us and getting away with it, we're better off. |

The repubs have shown a lot of bipartisanship this game. I say we reciprocate that for now. I'm not saying that I want us to even things up with them, but we're much more likely to get a wolf by voting Dem today. |

like I said, I am fine with making the sabatour public.
I am not fine with the possibility of backfire. |

Oh, I see. I missed that distinction. I think I agree with you , but the original intent was that the law would only impact sabatage of someone ELSE'S election. Not if you affect your own. |

I see merit in Lathum's suggestion regarding going after the Reps hard and then focusing on our own wolves.
I'd like to hear the reasoning for taking turns (R-D) on wolf votes -- my impression from the main thread was that they are the ones pushing that idea but I'll have to read back.

Congressional Electoral Oversight Bill
WHEREAS, allegations of tampering in prior elections undermines the democratic process. BE IT RESOLVED: Additional oversight shall be provided to enable elections to proceed with full accountability. If a congressperson abuses his power to impact a fellow congressperson's election (positively or negatively), it will become immediately known to the rest of the Congress. The media will not be alerted (so there will be no popularity impact from the action). In addition, if a Congressperson uses his power to infuence his or her OWN election, this will not be made public to the Congress. ----------------------------------- Question: Should we include the bolded part? Or do we want to know when somebody affects their own election too? |

I also have the ability to help out another person's election positively. Would that be subject to our bill?

Any suggestions for PackerFan's bill proposal? Chesapeake, any word from Pass. on their bill or when it will be announced? |

Pass says they are looking at an anti-thief bill, whereby a thief couldn't use his powers against a non-wolf. They apparently are hoping we offer a thief bill

Since the GOP is floating an anti-thief bill and PF still has the opportunity to offer one:
Be it resolved: The role of the Sergeant-at-Arms is created. The Sergeant-at-Arms, will be selected at random from all Members of Congress who are not members of the Wolf Party and do not already have a role as created by an Act of Congress. Once per night, the Sergeant-at-Arms may select one other player. There is an X% chance that the selected player's nighttime actions are nullified. Thoughts? I know CR discouraged new roles but didn't rule them out. |

CR basicly told us no more roles will be created so why even bother going for a bill that will get shot down

I'm working with Olie to satisfy the court on KWhit's bill.
McC, will you be around for the next hour? You'd have to resubmit it. |

Oh, is KWhit gone? I'm walking out the door and won't be back till around 8:30pm.
If allowed, I hereby name Chesapeake to be the Democratic Whip for the rest of the day. |

KWhit said he would be back at some point, but as soon as I get an OK from the court, we need to get it up so folks can vote.

This, BTW, is the revised text I sent to oliegirl and CR
Congressional Electoral Oversight Bill CONGRESSIONAL SPONSORSHIP: Mccollins and Chesapeake WHEREAS, allegations of tampering in prior elections have undermined the democratic process. BE IT RESOLVED: Additional oversight shall be provided to enable elections to proceed with full accountability. If a congressperson uses his power to impact a fellow congressperson's election (positively or negatively), there is an X% chance that a staffer will squeal and it will become immediately known to the rest of the Congress who attempted to affect the campaign. The media will not be alerted (so there will be no popularity impact from the action). In addition, if a Congressperson uses his power to infuence his or her OWN election, this will not be made public to the Congress. |

McC, given oliegirl's statement, we should withdraw our bill regardless of whether we can revise it. No reason to doubt she is telling the truth.

I'm blowing this popstand in 12 minutes. I haven't heard back from Oliegirl. Given that she essentially declared that it would be overturned by the courts, I'm going to withdraw it, pending affirmation by McC or KWhit. Hopefully she gets back to me with an up or down on the revised bill.

I'm heading to bed. I'm using my ability tonight on myself to swing my election in my favor. I don't feel I have any other choice. Hopefully we all get reelected and will be in good shape.
I'll check in before I head into work (6am-4pm again). Not sure what is going on after work tomorrow. I will DEFINATELY check in when I get home from work but after that I dont know. I was supposed to go to Harborfest with the girlfriend but the weather may play havok with that. If we do go it's only for the evening and we'll be back sunday midday. Just fillin' everyone in. |

well we all got re elected which was nice.
I had a feeling EF was good, the wolves are going to try and take out of of us again tonigh and most likely succed this time so we basicly fucked ourselvs and gave up control of the numbers game. I suggest we vote along party lines, especialy considering they are gunning hard core for me, and I think Heinze is leading the charge and I really want to stick it to him. |
