Problem is I was an idiot and decided to present on something I want to sell rather than something I'm actually very familiar with .

So 2 days of reading tech documents in, hopefully I'm good to go.

Throw in a couple of random funny youtube clips that don't have to do with anything.

I think I might have relayed this story on here before. Back in 2005 I had to travel to Warsaw to give a presentation for our company's product at Microsoft's unveiling of Microsoft Operation Manager. It was two 2-hour presentations. For the first presentation, I had a translator, and it was like the UN. People that needed an English-Polish translation had headphones that piped in the translator. Crowd interaction was really good.

The next day, I didn't have a translator. As I was giving the presentation, the crowd sat there stone faced and silent. I figured no one was understanding a word I said. A little bit later, I kept tripping over pronouncing a word, I think it was 'virtualization'. I told the crowd "I apologize for speaking English like President Bush". The previously stone faced and silent crowd burst into laughter. I then realized that they understood English, but just had to concentrate to do the translating themselves.

Between yesterday when I was sick and this morning (just now) when I weighed myself, I lost 3lbs. That's a lot of sweat.

Definitely still sick BTW. Went to work and lasted all of one hour before I realized the fever was coming back. Got up to pour out my cup of tea and head home and promptly fainted. Flat out.

Luckily my coworker was there to get me back into my seat at my desk, but then I proceeded to faint again WHILE HE WAS STANDING RIGHT THERE TALKING TO ME.

Crazy shit.

Went over to my parent's (lucky they live like a mile from my office) and slept all day so far. Guess I won't be going in to the office till Monday. Hopefully I can break this fever tomorrow and be better for the weeekend.

You'd be ok if you worked in a pillow store, or a marshmallow factory.

Yeah, fainting doesn't seem like something I'd take lightly. Might want to stop by the doctor's office and make sure everything is alright.

I have postural hypotension (light-headedness when I stand up) due to low blood pressure, so I attribute the fainting to that combined with the fever really coming back and hitting hard at that time.

Fever wasn't anything insane, only like 101.8. And blood pressure is right where it has been. If I don't feel a lot better by some point tomorrow (which would be day...3?) I'll prolly at least call the doc.

Speaking of fevers, we were worried that one of our babies (one month old today) had a fever, so we called our pediatrician. With our 2-year old, we'd managed to avoid having to take his temperature rectally, but our new pediatrician wanted us to. Surprisingly, he handled it really well (and didn't have a fever).

So anyone who is bored enough to follow me on Twitter/FB probably saw that the other day I saw a neurosurgeon who sounded rather optimistic about my prognosis for a lumbar spinal fusion, and now I'm seriously considering it. That said, Googl'ing it and then finding videos of the surgery on YouTube was probably not smart. Much better to stick with the patient stories..

This afternoon I put a coat of paint on my garage floor. It's supposed to have a satin finish. Looks flat to me. It also didn't go on in one uniform color despite two gallons that are the same color being mixed together with a mixer on a drill for several minutes.

I knew I should have gone with a basic oil-base floor paint instead of the expensive soap & water clean up epoxy ($9 more per gallon)

I think these two go back to Lowes.

Yeah - I think the fever is gone now, but if it comes back I will be calling my doc.

Eff this ear infection. If I have another bad night's rest I'm gonna be pissed. Two nights in a row is enough for me. A third... well, that's just mean especially with the weekend here.

Antibiotic ain't doing diddly. Drops seem to make it worse sometimes... Ibuprofen is the only thing that lessens the pain.

Why has no cable/satellite/whatever provider developed a technology whereby you can send a notification of an upcoming program that you think a friend on the same service might be interested in to them??

Seems like a great idea...

It's not an image, therefore it must be a thought. And the thought is, cute or not, doesn't it seem a little bit over the top?

A sign my mom is getting older.

Tonight she spent quite a bit of time on the phone telling me how good the chicken noodle soup at Boston Market is, and how surprising it is that it's a side item. "It's like a whole meal! You can save the rest of your food for leftovers!"

The whole time I am thinking "really? boston market. you're talking about boston market like it's disneyland. really?"

Boston Market is still around? There aren't anymore of them here in Boston, so I figured they went belly-up.

My grandad fucking loved Boston Market's chicken. He too thought the sun rose and set on that place. To the point that he was thinking about buying a franchise at one point, and he'd probably stab you with a fork if you said anything bad about them. Maybe they've got some kind of secret old people juice they inject into all their stuff.

Could always get the K-cup filter and "make your own." I do that with my own coffee all the time.

Not sure if Quik doesn't want to get his hands dirty, or if they're just too big to handle and clean the filter.

It was the Peppermill in Reno. Pretty nice place actually. I called their Lost & Found number and only got voicemail. Tried using their online lost & found claim form and every time you try to submit it, it errors out.

Yeah you should have a good chance of getting a jacket back, compared to something small and attractive to a "look what I found" type like an iPod, camera, etc.
