This could also be the way he has decided to flip. He's not going to "cooperate" with Mueller in public. But he's forcing Mueller to force him to comply.

bronconick's post-coke-bender theory is still probably the most plausible.

He was just on Ari's show on MSNBC-he just seems totally off his rocker-said its not fair that Mueller's asking him to do all these things. He'll soon learn what's it like when Mueller stops asking.

Ari spent the first 30 mins of his show trying to talk him down from the ledge. Now he's on Erin's show on CNN. I just see no reason for why he's doing all this-what does he hope to gain in the end?

He is drunk. Erin even asked if he had been drinking because he smelled like booze.

I watched him on Erin. I don't think she should have ambushed him like that.

He's going to wake up tomorrow thinking "why did I do that and for what".

If you show up to an interview drunk, you abdicate the right to claim being ambushed.

Thad Cochran-Republican Senator from Mississippi, already looking like he's dying, resigns from Congress effective April 1 for health reasons. Both Senate seats from that state will now be up for a special election.

That and the WH apparently was pushing hard that he is a drunk.

To be fair, Erin saying he had alcohol in his breath does not discredit him. Early evening interview, so what if he had dinner with a drink(s)? ... if true.

As fair as I know, it was only her that said it. It was an ambush to embarrass and discredit him.

Like I said, the WH was saying he is a drunk. In addition, reports are his mother said he was not in a good place and several friends are worried about his drinking. Put all of it together, his behavior over the course of the day, all of the reports of his drinking, and smelling alcohol, and it's a fair question.

This dude seems to have a lot of demons, and I feel bad for him. I also think that, demons or not, you have to take responsibility for your actions, and mocking the judicial process cannot be tolerated. He should (and I expect will) be punished.

On a separate note, the television media isn't even pretending to be about anything other than cheap entertainment at this point. It's Real Housewives for people who want to pretend they are too good to watch Real Housewives.

Hope Hicks resigns. She is no more or less newsworthy than the many others who have resigned from this White House and got mentioned once on CNN. But Hope Hicks is conventionally attractive. She is skinny. She has clear skin and bright eyes. She has flowing long hair. So we had to spend 48 hours watching video of Hope Hicks walking. And Hope Hicks smiling. And Hope Hicks smiling while walking. All while the media could pretend that they were doing this because it was newsworthy. It would have been more direct to just have a Hope Hicks lookalike pornstar having sex in the background while they talked.

And yesterday, it became apparent early on that this guy was drunk and, after that first interview, not adding anything substantive to the conversation. The journalistic course would be to keep him off TV and discuss the meaning of that first interview. But these aren't journalists. They just kept putting on the drunk, hoping he'd say or do something else stupid live on air. They could have done the same thing with any drunk on the street, but because this guy has some slight connection to President Trump, it was "news."

Media has been heading down this path for a long time, and the best fodder is anything attached to the Clown the White House. Why would you expect anything more knowing it is about viewers, clicks and ratings?

No, just that by the time of the Burnett interview this was part of the story. After all the interviews before Burnett and all the quotes about Nunberg, somebody needed to ask if he was drunk.

As to the entertainment aspect, of course. In a field where ratings determine whether you have a job or not, you have to expect hosts and producers are going to gravitate towards things that get ratings.

She was probably encoraged by her producer. I seriously doubt that she did something like that without talking to her producer or someone else about the ramifications. I could be wrong, but it seems that stuff like this is much more controlled than it looks.

I don't think its been shown/proven he was drunk other than for his seemingly stupid actions. I've actually not read that others identified him as being drunk earlier in the day. And if they did, then what worth was there to put him on the air other than being exploitative.

Maybe he was off his meds, or depressed and not being treated for it. Its just blatantly unfair for Erin to put him on that spot.

Either way, I do not think Erin comes out looking like an objective reporter (I know, those days are long past).

I do feel sorry for him. With that said, he was stupid and should be accountable for the consequences.

I categorically reject any criticism of Erin Burnett.

She could kill a guy with a spoon live on the air and I'd still be on her side. Her eyes are dreamy.

Cohn put in his year so that his stock sale remained tax free.

Who gets this job now, Kushner or Mulvaney?

Everything's a con.

Quote:
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has quietly begun allowing more trophy hunting of African elephants, despite President Donald Trump’s pledge last year to uphold a ban on importing parts of animals killed by big-game hunters.

The agency issued a formal memo Thursday saying it would consider issuing permits to import elephant trophies from African nations on a “case-by-case” basis, effective immediately. The new guidelines, first reported by E&E News and later by The Hill, end U.S. bans on the import of such trophies from Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Honestly I don't get the merits of this lawsuit. How can you get sued over a contract that you didn't sign? Shouldn't she be suing the lawyer or something?

She's seeking a declaratory judgment from the court, which essentially means you go to the court and say, "hey, we have a dispute, please just tell me I'm right." In this case she wants to be able to tell her story without fear of repercussion from Trump trying to enforce the confidentiality terms.

Someone like albion may be able to provide more insight, but courts are usually predisposed not to grant declaratory relief (they want to be there to decide real causes of action, not for everyone to run in to "have their disputes settled here").

On the merits themselves, it's hard to know, but I'd think the biggest thing going against Stormy is that she accepted the payment--so the argument on the other side is that there had to be some agreement here since she cashed a $130k check.

In the end, the suit seems like a publicity stunt that lets her further her narrative without technically violating their agreement.
