That's the BCS payout for the five bowls, and that's why we will never see an NCAA administered playoff in Division I football.

Given that I grew up in Big Ten country and I now work with a bunch of SEC assholes,

So far I'm enjoying this

Didn't the Big 4 bowls of yesteryears offered a similar payout (adjusted for inflation) or at least comparison to the other bowl games?

Yeah, playoffs begin Thanksgiving weekend and end mid-december - right in finals time.

If you want to go vacation route, then we could talk about NCAA basketball...

Nah, no reason for them to get away from what they've done all year. 10 points is not some huge insurmountable lead.

You mean the same thing that gave them two losts as well as a few close games? So far this drive most of their postive yards have come from a spread formation.

I knew the LSU Defense had flaws, but I'm honestly surprised at just how well OSU is doing.

When it comes down to it, I think a lot of SEC fans may be wishing it was UGA in this game rather than LSU.

I am sure you mean LSU.

#28 is a beast and if I am Ohio State I am going to ride that horse until the wheels fall off.

An odd wish to be sure. I'm an SEC fan and I wouldn't want UGA in this game even if I knew ahead of time they'd win and LSU would lose. UGA didn't even win their division.

yeah, I meant UGA over LSU..

Bu tLSU is looking like themselves now..

FWIW, I say that because I feel like UGA was the best team in the SEC this year (and I say that as a UT fan).

They may be the best team. But if they don't perform like it when it counts, they don't deserve to play in this game.

You're getting nitpicky on me.

I don't think they SHOULD be in the game, I was saying as SEC fans we may wish it was them if LSU loses...

Either way, SEC is showing their proper dominance right now so it's all good .

I am sure Ohio State will come out with something next half but outside of Wells long run they really haven't done much. As a dolphins I have been watching Dorsey and I am still not convinced he should be the number one pick.

IMO, Dorsey is still injured at least a bit. In pregame he had a noticeable limp.

I think hes been putting on a strong face with the 100% comments.

Maybe it's just me, but in the games I've seen - probably 3 LSU games this year, and a couple last year - I just haven't seen Dorsey take over a game like I'd expect someone with his credentials to do.

I don't think so given they have had a month off... He has made some plays but I don't see a Vince Wolfork type of DT out there, he is definately a 1st round talent just not top 5 in my opinion.

I agree on Dorsey. He has a few great plays, but seems to do absolutely nothing a worrying amount of the time.

I don't know if he's playing hurt or not, but watch a USC game and Sed Ellis is way more active than he has been so far tonight.

Agreed to both. Clearly the best DT in this draft, clearly a very good player, but not quite what he's being made out to be.

But, idano - relatively week class for marquee players I guess so maybe for this season he really is a top 5 talent, but I find 1.1 to be hard to swallow.

Not being a homer but Jake Long is the best player in this draft, bar none. This year he allowed one sack and had zero penalties called on. He would've went top 7-10 last year and should be a shoe in to go #1 this year. People say he's the best Michigan OL ever, and that says something.

Larinitis (spelling) is the overrated player to me. That guy was terrible last year and he is terrible so far this year.

I never understood why people think that guy is that great.

To many personal foul calls in one direction so far.

Take this FWIW, but that's almost the exact description of (former UGA & Saints) Jonathan Sullivan from his freshman year of high school throughout his college career.

Laurinaitis is overrated in my opinion as well.

If the Dolphins do keep the 1st pick then I hope they draft Jack Long or Matt Ryan.

Sullivan took plays off, Dorsey plays one gap or two gap depending on the circumstances. Bull rushing as a one gap upfield can take you out of plays sometimes, especially if you are still a bit gimpy.

What makes Dorsey good isn't athletism(which a lazy DT like Sullivan even had more of) but one of the highest motors I've seen in a DT.
