I don't know if this has been covered at all in the previous 17 pages, but has anyone else noticed a slight lag at the conclusion of each play in the 360 verison? I've noticed it after the whistle has been blown (such as when a defender is leaping over the tackled player).

Played against Bearcat last night. He completely annihilated me (I think the score was 42-13). Really fun game.

Dola, I also didn't notice any lag after each play. I think the only lag I noticed was throughout the game, not at any specific points and it was only against certain opponents and their connections relative to mine.

Just to clarify the lag I talk about is not in an online game...single-player...it's not huge, but noticable.

I have no framerate slowdown after the plays on a regular basis. The only time it may slow down is near the end zones.

maybe it was just isolated, or the stadium, or maybe the fact i'm not playing in HD.

Played Pumpy tonight and he dominated me 42-17. Fun although being on the losing end of it is getting old. Guess I'm gonna have to practice a little more.

I must be playing a different game then all of you. I have NCAA on the 360 and agreed the graphics are nice, the animations are nice. The running game is pretty sweet.

BUT, the defensive AI in this game is terrible. I'm assuming most of you haven't played against one of the nations top teams that have a scrambling QB. Ohio State is pretty much unstoppable on offense.

Their QB can scramble around at will and if they play fake every play, there is pretty much nothing you can do about it. DB's are terrible at coverage and and their is always a receiver wide open, since you can't get to the QB.

Players are terrible in a zone and blow all kinds of coverages.

OK ST. is another team that you can score at will on offense with. Mobile QB's are the bane of this game. Play action is way to effective.

I use Penn ST. mostly that has arguably the best LB's in football and they bite on the play fake pretty much every time.

On defense you don't have audibles availble you need to adjust coverages correctly.

Great step in the graphics overhaul, nice step forward in the experience but overall the game is pretty week.

Played the XBox version last night, decided to start an Ohio State dynasty on All-American without tweaking the sliders. I threw some bad passes, but liked the new slide protection and easier hot route selection. I nailed a TD strike on an audible fly pattern when NIU was trying to crowd the line to stop my option attack.

However, I did feel that the momentum meter was WAY too active. NIU got off to a nice lead, and I drew back to 17-17 after being down 14-0, but the momentum meter still had barely swung over to my side when they ripped off a 59 yard slant pass for a touchdown. After that, the momentum meter was half-to-full on their side for the rest of the game, which I lost 31-17 (or would have, if I hadn't pulled the ol' Quit Game... chalk it up to first game jitters). Also don't like the new kick return perspective, as I can't see who's coming in from the side at all. Dropped passes are better this year, though.... I was pleased with how every facet of the game played besides the special teams and the friggin' momentum meter. I guess I can't jump to conclusions based on 1 game.

Any XBox sliders anyone can post here? I can't access OS forums or the others where they're being posted, so if someone could copy/paste them here, that would be incredibly helpful.

Yes, the mobile QB is devastating. I play my dynasty with Ole Miss. As the game ships, he is the best QB regarding overall score to speed, both are 87. Ohio State's guy is better as his overall is higher and speed is just a bit lower. At first I struggled against my early season easy opponents and actually lost to Vandy. Then I started using the scramble tool and handedly beat Auburn, LSU and Florida, without much effort.

Ohio State is probably the best as the total offense and D is very good. A lot of people are using WV online as that QB is also a good scrambler and the rest of the team is good. Plus the WV guy has good a ball carrying score.

I agree, it appears to be the weak link on this release. I hope they fix it with defensive AI and don't go back to excessive dropped passes. On player versus player, it is bad because you have to get the coverage's right and pretty much drag an LB or fast DE to ensure you can cover the QB. This was not as easy for me on the xbox because you had to use the Y button to scramble versus the right trigger, which now makes scrambling much easier.

yes Ohio ST is very hard to stop in this game. In our multiplayer league Troy Smith has something absurd like 25 TD's in 5 games.

AND the guy in our league who has Ohio St is very good on offense, unfortunately for him he is AWFULL on defense. my friend and I taking turns beat him with Cincinnati 51-43 in an offensive game that featured 600 yards passing by the Cin QB and 300 yards rushing by Troy Smith.

realistic? not at all, but it was fun.

Now don't get me wrong "realism" is my #1 concern in a video game, however I also think it is all but impossible in a joystick jockey game. My nirvana is a whole suite of sports games with the depth/realism of FOF/OOTP and the graphics of the EA games all played in coach & GM mode.

Just played it again for the first time in a week, and had the worst game so far in my dynasty and the best. Playing as Illinois, week 3 was a match-up against underdogs Syracuse, which I should have one easily. But I didn't. I couldn't stop their left QB, who kept moving to his strong side, which is the weak side on my defense. And even after switching my players around, all they started to do was run to the new weak side. All in all, a very frustrating day. The worst news, is when they were up big in the 4th, they didn't pull their 1st string O or D, and were still scoring on me after I put in my 2nd stringers. Final score of 66-27.

4th week of the season was against #13 Iowa in Champaign, which I was hoping would help me pull of the upset. After a quick 14-3 lead by Iowa, I could sense that things weren't going my way. After checking to see that my QB was 2-16 so far also, and I had 0 yards on 5 carries from Thomas, all hope was looking grim. But a couple of quick field goals, I went into the half trailing 21-9. The second half, my defense was huge. Forcing them to punt on 4 straight drives after not forcing them to punt at all in the first half. Down 35-23 going into the 4th, I come up with a pick, TD, then cause them a WR to fumble after coming over the middle, and pick up another TD for a 36-35 lead. A missed 2-pt conversion, and them having 1:45 left had me scared, but my defense came up huge on a 4th down play at mid field, and sealed the 36-35 victory. I'm having a lot of fun playing this game, and can't wait to keep going on in my season.

I should be able to get online in a few minutes. I'd gladly play an online game if someone wants to play in a few.

Only concern is that there are some storms passing through here. Hopefully, it doesn't knock out my power.

one thing they need to fix in the game for next year on 360 is the cutscenes and how the play selection part goes over the replays. Usually I don't watch them in games, but sometimes its cool to see them especially with the awesome graphics.

The bad thing is.. the longer you look at them, the easier a delay of game is.

Just got the 360 and NCAA and have been enjoying it so far. Seems strange that I can't download rosters unless I have a memory card. I can stream music to it from my PC, but I can't send a save file to it? Lame.

Am I missing something or is the memory card and tranfer kit the only way?

I've officially moved to Heisman defaults and I'd have to say the game is even more fun than it was on AA. The CPU really calls a good game, manages the clock better, and pulls all sorts of shit out of their hats.

I restarted my dynasty on 9 min Heisman defaults and I just had one heck of an opener at home... even returned my first kickoff for a TD. There is definitly NO speed cheats this year on Heisman.

Loving it!!

I just picked the game up tonight (Xbox) and have to say, I'm having more fun with it than I've had in probably 2 or 3 years. I even missed the walk-off home run by the Tigers

If I win my next game by a wide margin (against a similarly talented team as my own) than I'm moving up to Heisman defaults as well in my dynasty (but not restarting as I'm into my second season.)

I only restarted because I wanted to use 9 mins instead of 8 and I wanted to compare the same games on both levels.

Gameplay wise is similar, but the CPU AI gameplanning wise is much different. Running back my first kickoff with this game for a TD and getting over 100 yards rushing sealed the deal for me and Heisman level. I can't wait to play someone like Oklahoma to see how I do.

I just destroyed Nebraska 52-16 despite them having players at key position that were very similar to my USC team. I'm going to try my first game of Heisman in a while tomorrow.

Pros:

- Better play calling. The computer also makes better decisions throwing. I have a shut down corner and a weaker (but still good corner.) The CPU used a lot more motion to attempt to isolate their best WR on my weaker CB. Eventually I countered this with more zones, but they were killing me in the 1st half.

- Better running (the computer uses special moves much more creatively and generally had a more potent running game.)

- The CPU defended the option and my scrambling MUCH better. I think if I had a faster QB on the field, I still would have gotten some good yardage, but with Sanchez who "just" has 70 speed, they defended well (and hurt Sanchez for the rest of the year.)

- I still beat the weaker team 47-23. However...

Cons:

It seemed like a very poor OL did much too well against my GREAT defensive 7. I only got 1 sack and not too many pressures.

I think the CPU got boosts along both the offensive and defensive lines. Their defensive line was lower rated than my O-Line but still got good pressure (but not too many plays.)

I think the Pros easily outweigh the cons, and it was a much more challenging game where I had to concentrate on every play. I'll stick with the challenge of Heisman (although I also dread when I play a powerhouse later in the year.)

Edited to add: I'm glad there are clearly no speed boosts. My 99 speed WR easily pulled away from their defenders when he got the ball on one long pass play. I just think there are some form of boosts along the lines.

The QB I was playing against had a high awareness. Perhaps, that is part of the reason I had low sack numbers.

Now that you mention it, I've had calm winds almost every game. Of course, most of my games are in California.

I see a large number of games with calm winds but I do see a couple games where the winds are up (The highest I have seen is 16 MPH with Notre Dame)

I beat Miami of Ohio yesterday in my the first game of my IU dynasty. They marched right down the field on their first drive and got a TD. A 106-yard interception return turned the tide and tied us at 7 rather than us going down 14-0. From there, our offense got on track, and we won something like 27-17. Go Hoosiers!

By the way, the game was rainy. Don't know if people aren't get much weather variation, so thought I'd throw that in.

I'm only on All American. I have a feeling I would totally get my ass kicked if I went to Heisman.

Twice in my last three games, I have gotten the "this disc is unreadable" error in the middle of the game. I don't mind that it takes me an hour to play one game, but when I have to replay a game that I was already 3/4 of the way into, it upsets me. I really wish this had in-game saves, if only for this reason. I'm scared to play again because I don't know if I'm going to end up wasting nearly another hour with nothing to show for it.

I was getting the dirty disc error as well. last week it became so prevalent that I could not do anything in game or out for more than 10 minutes before I got the error. I even went and got the Intercooler, didn't help. I cleared the cache, didn't help. I took the game back to Rhino Games and they swapped it for me. I've played it 3 times for over an hour each time and have not gotten the error again.

The guy at Rhino told me it was happening a lot, but not enough for a recall. Looks like isolated discs are bad. Pumpy, I would recommend you take it back and swap the game for a new one.

I hope that GameStop will work with me on this one. If the guys there haven't heard about this problem, they probably won't do anything about it. I'll try, though. Thanks!

I hate the momentum meter. I've lost 2 nail biters due to lack of momentum in te final drive. This one was a 19-17 loss to Alabama. I was methodically driving down the field with 35 seconds left when my teeam just decides to die.
