FWIW I'm close to finishing a utility for Baseball Mogul that allows you to import all of the data from the Standings.txt file into a database and then create some html reports and pictures showing your progress.
Here's a taste:
Not quite an almanac but it's something. I had also made a utility for BM05 that read the box score files and created a db so you could get player stats between any two dates. I've tested it only on the BM06 demo and it still seems to work. You can check it out here. |

You can output the pics based on Wins, Losses,BA, HR, SB and ERA. It might be useful for anyone running a career. Here's some examples. |

I just completed my next season in the career I'm playing. Here are the injuries from the transactions page:
Mar 31, 2018 ... P Hand Stress Fracture (two weeks) Mar 31, 2018 ... P Sprained ankle (two weeks) Apr 8, ... LF Torn Achilles Tendon (five months) Apr 13, ... 3B Torn Quadruceps (five weeks) Apr 17, ... P Finger stress fracture (two weeks) Apr 18, ... P Dislocated shoulder (three weeks) Apr 29 ... P Severe elbow tendonitis (four months) May 4 ... CF Wrist stress fracture (four weeks) May 8 ... P Broken wrist (eight months) May 8 ... P Spiked achilles tendon (three weeks) May 10 ... 3B Hairline wrist break (two weeks) Jun 6 ... 3B Ankle stress fracture (three weeks) Jun 9 ... C Pulled Groin (two weeks) Jun 19 ... P Broken wrist (eight months) Jun 27 ... LF Sprained Finger (two weeks) Jun 29 ... P Ruptured knee ligaments (five weeks) Jul 15 ... 2B Fractured hip (four months) Jul 18 ... 1B Wrist stress fracture (four weeks) Jul 27 ... 1B Broken jaw (four weeks) Aug 3 ... P Severe elbow tendonitis (four months) Aug 5 ... 3B Broken Collar bone (five weeks) Aug 12 ... 1B Sprained neck (two weeks) Aug 23 ... 2B pulled groin (two weeks) Sep 15 ... 3B ruptured knee ligaments (five weeks) This is on the lowest level for injuries with the #1 medical staff in the league. Once again, I'm not saying 25 major injuries per season isn't realistic. I don't know. What I am saying is that it isn't much fun and the slider should be set with 0% equalling "realism". +100% equalling double the amount of injuries and -100% resulting in no injuries. That way if we set it to say -80% we can have 5-10 major injuries per season to deal with. |

Yay it still looks like their are major issues with free agency and injuries along with the terrible trade offers you get from the cpu. I am getting a little impatient with the free agency and injuries since they were suppose to of been dealt with in a few patches now.

yep if they fix the free agency, injuries, cpu trade offers than i might consider to buy BM 2k6. but for now i will wait and see if they fix those issues. If they do it should be very solid game to purchase. |

SD, have you had an opportunity to run some tests with v8.10? My player cards (the stats when you click on a player) are not updating when I manage a team. However, they are updating when I fast sim multiple seasons. I was wondering if you could check to see if you can duplicate this problem, or whether it is working for you?
Thanks |

Actually, once a patch fixing the "no year-to-year stats being recorded" bug that cropped up in 8.10 is issued, I'll be good to go. From some suggestions on the SportsMogul forums, I moved Salary Demands to -20%, and League Revenue to +10%, and voila: there are no FA's rated 75 or better available on April 1st. Knocking salaries down a little isn't a big problem for me: there are still 20 players making more than $10M, max salary is $16.4M currently, a few other data points on salaries at -20%:
Top Starter: $15.2M Salary Range of All MLB Closers: $1.5M-->$8.00M (only 3 making less than $2M, 10 making less than $3M) Setup Man Salary Range: $316K-->$5M (only 2 are making $316K, then it jumps up to $1M...only 9 total making less than $2M) I can handle those numbers.

There are currently 43 MLB players making more than $10 million per season: http://www.onestopbaseball.com/2005/...ion=Outfielder (you have to manually sort by position) But from my experience, Mogul team salaries seem to be on the high side. Lowering the salaries 20% should get result in getting the benchwarmers more accurate salaries, but it will be at the expense of accurate star salaries. I think Clay needs to change the default salaries, making scrubs demand much less while increasing the demands of stars. Then let the user modify the game to their liking form that point with the salary adjuster. |

Mogul 2007 feature poll is up. As I said a lonnnnnnngggg time ago in this thread, Clay obviously makes his decisions on features heavily based on this feature poll. Vote now for your pet features:

Ummm.....okay. The questions weren't directed at you, SD. It's just a predictable set of questions for anyone playing this game.

The trade AI is better than I had first thought.
I'm testing things with a fictional league in the first few seasons and the FA is still awful. A 22 year old 78/100 prospect sitting there on March 1st demanding a measly $2.3 million and no one will touch him. I increased revenue by 10%, but in the short term it doesn't appear to have helped. I'll keep tinkering with the settings though, hopefully find something that is acceptable. Finances are the same as they have been, nothing in immediate need of fixing. I don't play historical leagues, so no comment. Last edited by amdaily : 04-15-2005 at 07:59 PM. |

Before SkyDog accuses me of being to negative I will say, that I guess, the AI free agent stuff can be fixed by , as SkyDog noted, adjusting the starting financials. Trades AI offers are still screwed up and I don't know they will be addressed this version. And yes Bucc, I had to say the same thing when I saw the poll at BM's board. It is agreta idea to get feedback and suggestions from folks but it kind of pisses me off. I basically feel like I have paid albeit 20 bucks to beta test this guys product. Granted it is a greta improvement over previous incarnations but.... Well, I have hope for this game down the road when it gets patched but up to know it has gotten much serious play. |

I've been away for the last hour and a half or so and only got to quickly tinker with 8.11 before I left. How do injuries look in the regular season? I noticed that they were low in Spring Training. Only around a dozen guys in the entire baseball universe came out of spring training injured at default settings. However, that's probably closer to what the masses want. {Sigh}

I just don't think a product that was not released in good shape should have a - next version, what do you want? thread. The feeling I get, "I'm getting close to my last patch for 2006."
Again SD, it's just my opinion. Todd |

dola,
I'm at my parents house tonight due to a 6:30am soccer game (fun to get my 9 year old up at 5:30am and try to get her motivated to play soccer) Tomorrow, I'll give the lastest patch a run and post some thoughts... although that darn EHM 2005 demo has been tearing me away from everything. Todd |
