Me either-very much wishful thinking on his part. I mean Mueller hasn't even talked to him yet, and you have to think he would do that before the end of the grand jury. (or try-who knows if he will talk to him in the end). The one person, Gates, just made a plea deal this week, and the Manafort trial.

I wonder, if he’s ever brought up on an obstruction of justice charge, whether or not they include every tweet or statement made in regards to collusion.

There’s a reason why lawyers tend to tell their clients to stay quiet.

The weekend after Mueller indicts 13 Russians for interfering with the election, you would expect the President to offer some criticism towards Russia.

Oh, well.

Trump blames everyone for Russian influence in our elections but himself or Russia. Even tweeted a response to his national security adviser McMaster after he told an international crowd that there could be no disputing now that the Russians interfered in our election:

Oh, well.

That’s the thing that really gets me. If he really didn’t collude with the Russians (or even if he did), what’s the harm in coming out and saying something like “We will not tolerate foreign nations interfering in our elections” or anything remotely similar to criticism? Everybody pretty much says the election was not changed because of hacking or other interference, so if your election win is legitimate and you didn’t collude, why don’t you criticize Russia and get more Americans on your side? Sounds pretty easy to me. He makes more people suspicious of him when he goes out of his way not to criticize Russia.

Was trump completely off his meds this weekend? I don't follow him on twitter, only see the aftermath elsewhere.

Yeah, it's real frustrating. Did Russia get him elected? I'm sure they helped, they are one of countless factors. However even if they were proven to be the driving factor(which I doubt) I'm still not interested in calling the election invalid and tossing him. I just want him to act to make it more difficult for this to happen in the future. I'm guessing this aligns with what the majority believes, but he just can't get over his own ego and understand this.

Instead not only does he not do his job to prevent this from happening again, he goes over the top and blows Russia for a year and attacks anyone that says anything bad about them. Which just compounds the whole perception of him and Russia colluding.

His a moron.

This from the follow-up to Oprah's panel says so much about the country.

Quote:
Laura: I feel safer now than I ever did the last eight years of Obama. Oh my God.

Oprah Winfrey: How do you feel safer? Tell me how you feel safer?

Laura: Well, I feel like I can say Merry Christmas to anyone I want wherever I want.

If Christians really want to see a persecuted religion in the US they should look no further than the Mormons. I mean, if they're all about freedom of religion, why not let the Mormons practice all aspects of their religion openly without fear of interference from the government, just like trump wants?

Overall, Trump came in dead last. The seven greatest presidents, according to respondents, remained unchanged from the same survey's results in 2014, the previous time it was taken. In order, they were Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, Harry S. Truman and Dwight Eisenhower.

Trump did not fare well even when parsing the results by party and ideology. He ranked 40th out of 44 among Republicans and conservatives.

I would have thought so-Trump is not held in that high regard in such a Republican state as Utah. It will be interesting to see if this move actually causes him to lose support now.

Maybe this has Trump worried:

Quote:
The son-in-law of a Russian oligarch is slated to plead guilty to lying to investigators working for special counsel Robert Mueller's office, according to court filings unsealed on Tuesday.

Alex Van Der Zwaan, a London-based attorney and the son-in-law of Russian oligarch German Khan, is set to appear in a D.C. court around 2:30 p.m. to enter a guilty plea to making false statements to Mueller's team about his work involving the Ukrainian government.

Gotta say this for the GOP: They really do work hard for those NRA donations. In a very difficult time, Rubio has absolutely come through in the clutch for them.

President Trump directs Justice Department to ban gun modifications like bump stocks used in Las Vegas massacre

Can the justice department just ban anything? Is there some previous law allowing them to do this?

I honestly doubt it. If it was that easy, Obama would have banned a bunch of crap after Sandy Hook and Congress punted on any responsibility.

I *think* the way they'll go about any rulemaking is to say that the rules and regs are being put in place to enforce existing laws banning fully automatic weapons. You already can't internally modify semi-automatic weapons to behave as a fully automatic weapon, so this would do the same for external non-permanent mods. As for why the Obama DOJ didn't do this, the truth is rulemakers are way behind the market--that's not unique to guns (see, post crisis financial regs, for example).

See, now, I think the way they'll go about it is that they'll introduce some sort of half-baked and clearly faulty rule that will be struck down immediately in court, and then they'll say, "Well, we tried, but the liberal activist courts put into place by Obama stopped us." Then they'll cash the NRA's check.

And Pence managed to sabotage a planned meeting with NK delegation (If Trumps son gets to hold speeches, there is no reason not to call Kim's sister that) by attacking NK, likely got the exact result he wanted out of this. Meanwhile, NK is well on track to garner public sympathy while the US is setting themselves back 10 years in competition with China within Asia.

So hired advisers working with a client are the same thing as a nation-state working behind the scenes. Got it.

Reguardless, it's naive to think America hasn't messed with elections of other countries. We are probably the biggest offender of that. It's irrelevant.

The Russians are going to do what they are going to do. China and others as well. I expect that. I also expect our leaders to work to combat that. Not deny anything is going on while fellating the accused parties.

I have no doubt about the US meddling in foreign elections. But in this specific instance trying to say that the work of hired political advisers is the same as using the intelligence apparatus of a nation to influence is just not an accurate comparison.

Not sure how a magazine cover/article from 21 years ago has anything to do with the current state of affairs in America or why it is being used to draw conclusions about the current media environment towards Trump.

It’s about the same as what Repub’s try to do when saying that Lincoln was a Republican. It’s a true statement, however, things have changed a bit since he was in office.
