I imagine Dinklage was on vacation. He lives in my buddy's building in the West Village. He's always walking a dog that's bigger than him (probably not that hard).

i'm pretty sure it was him. the other time i saw him he was walking a dog too (off the leash) i just can't remember if it was this year or last year. unless it was another midget... but there's no way this is a 2 midget town. the nyt says:
Quote:
So he has settled into a house in the woods in upstate New York with his wife, the theater director Erica Schmidt, and their baby daughter.
the winters are brutal here so i'm sure he probably has a couple homes.

Learned a tough lesson in making sure you have a case for your phone. Bought a Samsung Galaxy Nexus a few months ago and love it. Just never got around to getting a case for it for some dumb reason. Knocked it off my bed today and it hit the hardwood floor and the screen shattered. Not going to be cheap to replace. Otterbox here I came.

I once read that the average American ingests 8 spiders per year. Don't fret too much.

I think the results of the last 5 or 6 posts and snopes link are that its safe for NorvTurnerOverdrive to go back to freaking the fuck out about eating a spider.

Well, I saw this article last week...

Southwest Airlines Spirit Magazine / Tarantula

Quote:
A tarantula has 18 more grams of protein than a strip steak.
Talk about more bang for your bite. According to the travel gurus at Lonely Planet, a typical 3-ounce creepy crawler packs an impressive protein punch of 63 grams; while compelling, it won’t be enough to elbow the 6-ounce strip (45 grams) off an Outback menu anytime soon. Still, entomophagy, the practice of eating bugs, is far more common than you think. In fact, more than 2.5 billion people around the world nosh on insects every day. Topping the list of most popular dishes are sautéed aquatic fly larvae (Japan) and dragonflies boiled in coconut milk (Bali). In Cambodia, tarantulas are fried whole, with a touch of sugar, salt, and garlic. But our spidey senses tell us this is one delicacy not for the faint of heart—or the arachnophobic.

This is why I live in a 1st world country so I don't have to eat spiders and snakes and insects and other stuff. All I know is, I'd be one skinny son of a bitch if I lived in Cambodia.

Anyone else live in a rural area and their house gets covered by spiders every summer? Just the outside though, if those fuckers came in, I'd be moving.

Why does every wackjob that has a website, make the design look like this: The Earth Is Not Moving

Is there a 'wackjob' web template out there or something that they all use?

Those 'proofs' reminded me of the time I was driving cross-country and only got some AM radio station while driving across New Mexico. They had the head of the Flat Earth Society on, and one of his examples of why the earth was flat was that on a flight from New York to Rome, he took out a bubble level, placed it on the seat tray, and it never moved from the center.

Completely Random...

There's a thread on the boards titled "Possible move to Virginia". It's clear I've been reading these forums for a long time as my first thought was starting a satirical thread called "Possible move to Vagina". And then there is the possible trout reference... Just couldn't pull the trigger on it though. Not one of the cool kids...

We already have a "Possible Move to Vagina" thread. It's the Online Dating thread.

Stress is on the "possible".

Just discovered that the "lovely girl" in the McDonald's commercial is the same girl from the Verizon commercial where her boyfriend thought she was Adrian Peterson.

I actually feel bad for Curt Schilling. He went after his dream and failed miserably. Not the traditional "broke former athlete". Unless he did something illegal, which is still an open question.

Well he did take all that taxpayer money in a loan, something he has said he is completely against (as a staunch conservative) numerous times.

I know that he's a conservative but I don't know that he's generally against states competing for small businesses by offering pro-small business loans. Seems like that'd be up his alley. But I hope whatever it is that happened at the end is out there and revealed so we can evaluate the ethics and legality of it all.

I may have a couple of other random thoughts as I sit here drinking beer (not enough for the drunk thread), killing time, waiting for a friend to show up, so bear with me.

I'm really proud of the governor of my state. Last week he made a judicial appointment that was so clearly and obviously not political - the appointee has never registered for a political party, she's never been involved in any political activity, never been to a fundraiser, she's just done incredible public service work for a decade (and is one of my best friends). I'm so cynical about how shit goes down sometimes and I didn't think she had a chance, but, she got the call. When government works its a really cool thing. You can do great work and put your ethics above everything else, disclaim politics entirely, and attain a very important (and well-paid) position....at least on this one occasion.
