That worked well. So, I picked up Mario Galaxy 2 from Amazon for $50. Just got my game credit today and turned it around into NSMB Wii, which is now running $35 and they give you a $10 credit (Amazon was price matching a promo by EBGS, I believe)

So, SMG2 + NSMB Wii + $10 Gaming Credit for $65 and free shipping on both.

I did the same thing.

Amazon also has Glory of Hercules for DS for $10.99 with a $10 game credit and $5 mp3 credit.

Yeah- just wasn't that interested in Glory of Hercules and I'd have to bundle it with something to get free shipping.

Somebody help me out. I bought EU1 and EU2 (the theme is right down my alley) and had trouble getting past the learning curve and was not gonna get sucked in again.

But now EU3 "complete" is on sale and I really really really really think THIS could be the one to break thru for me. But it doesn't include Heir to the Throne.

So here is the question for you EU3 fans: Do I wait?

I'd want Heir, but you can always add that. If 1 and 2 were too much of a learning curve, though, I'm not sure you'll find 3 any better. It's a great game, but it still has quite a steep learning curve.

I didn't see the $10 credit on Glory.

It's not on the store page in the same spot as other games like Super Mario Galaxy 2, but it is further down under "Special Offers and Product Promotions." If you put it in your cart and go to the Place Order page it should say,
"Important Messages
Congratulations. Your purchase has qualified you for a $10 Video Games promotional code. The promotion code will be applied directly to your Amazon.com account up to two (2) business days after your product ships."

if anyone's interested in some older games, gog.com is running a weekend promo with all games from both the Disciples and Jagged Alliance series available at 50% off, or at $4.99 for any of their games.

Disciples & Jagged Alliance - GOG.com

I know nothing about Disciples but I'm tempted to get Jagged Alliance 2 at that price...

Isn't Jagged Alliance a turn-based strategy game?

The thing that always frustrated me was trying to figure out what I'm supposed to be watching/doing. Maybe not totally learning curve but unclear documentation?

Dominions was the same way but I finally got past it.

Anyway, thanks. Appreciate it.

I got Disciples from GOG quite awhile ago. It's fun. Think HOMM or Age of Wonders, but with strict unit limitations (you have six spots in your army and some units take up more than one spot).

I'd probably buy the Splinter Cell deal on Steam this weekend, but with Ubi Soft still using a long broken DRM that fucks with single player play I can't see doing it.

Disciples 2 still holds a place with me for the most moody atmosphere I've seen in a game.

It's pretty similar in gameplay to Company of Heroes if you're played that, just replace the Allies with Space Marines and Nazis with Orcs. If you want a RTS without the emphasis on resource management it's a good one.

wow, gog.com, aka goodoldgames.com, might as well rebrand themselves to simply gg.com, aka goodgames.com as their newest offering is King's Bounty: The Legend for their regular price of $9.99

King's Bounty: The Legend - GOG.com

Also running this week on Steam is a 66% off sale on all Neocore titles, namely Arthur the RPG game. I know this was mentionned in the Arthur thread, just thought I'd also give the heads up in here...

If I buy Civ IV Complete from the link above, can I register it with Steam and get downloads from it, like patches? Or do I have to buy it from Steam to get that advantage?

I can't answer for all games, but I remember installing my old Half Life (the original game) from a set of CDs and it's recognized within Steam. I forget how I did that, but I know it worked with that game at least.

With Half Life being a Valve game, I'm not surprised. Wonder if that works for 3rd party games, especially installed from digital downloads instead of CDs.

Thanks for the info. When I find my Half Life CDs, I'll have to install it.

Found the answer here.

Some games can do that, yes. Not all can.

I don't believe Civ is one of them, sadly.

Thanks, I finally picked this game up.

$9.99 for all the CIV4 games seems crazy cheap, but I guess Civ5 is coming out in September.

Supreme Commander 2 is about $10 on Steam for the weekend. Great deal. The game gets trashed a lot but it's actually pretty good. A bit more simple and streamlined than the first one, I still load up both of them occasionally.

New download site Green Man Gaming is offering a free game with use of the voucher code 1FREE-PROMO-WORLD. Not a real big selection, but they do have Kings Bounty: The Legend, World of Goo, Crusader Kings Complete, Trine and VVVVVV. It also looks like you can trade in games you've bought for credit on the site. I'm trying it out with VVVVVV. A word of warning, the site is running very slow with quite a few 504 errors. Downloading went fast though.

Gah, looks like deal is now dead. Can't say I'd recommend anything on the site without the free deal.

Games are purchased on their website and then you need to use download their program Capsule to download and install. Seems alright, but I can't see myself choosing to use it over Steam or GamersGate unless there were a pretty good sale on something. Though according to CAG the coupon doesn't work anymore.
