Ok. The Lions are on the clock.

What we need is a #4 WR who can play early in the season to allow Broyles to rehab that knee. Prefer somebody who is small...

Looks like the Steelers will be in position to get a NT between Brandon Thompson (who is majorly sliding -- 45th best overall by ESPN) or Alameda Ta'amu (51st).

Not sure who fits their 3-4 better. Seems as if Ta'amu has better physical traits (and about 30 lbs on Thompson), but Thompson has better football skills.

WVU recruited Miller pretty heavily and, if I remember correctly, quite a few teams quit recruiting him because of his high school grades. I think he was kind of a long shot to qualify that somehow made it into Miami.

Not to overstate the obvious, but both ESPN and NFL Network are getting in an ungodly amount of commercials.

Hence I'm doing the online draft cast.

Nice to see the Lions invest something into their CBs.

Not too many commercials when you watch NFL Network online (I don't have cable, but I have internet TV)

Watch NFL Draft 2012 Live - NFL.com

(and FINALLY, a CB! Ford bought a Bentley!)

Hmmm... Not too crazy about an undersized LB for the Steelers.

Sounds like more of a situational/3rd down coverage guy. Really would have liked one of those big Nose Tackles.

I like the new argument I heard from Mel earlier today.

Paraphrasing: "it's not that these are bad players, it is just that they are bad value for the pick. I think XXX will have a good, productive career. I just think they could have gotten him later in the draft."

Curious pick, Mr. Lewis.

TY Hilton is an outstanding pick for the Colts, though.

Wow, another DT? Why so many DTs? Cinci's depth is on their D-line. Obviously this is a BPA for them, but I don't get DT being such a need.

Gotta think Peko or Sims is gone now. Maybe they are trading Sims to someone, because releasing him would be a waste.

How about some defense? They're moving to a new scheme. Don't they need players for that scheme?

Well I think Colts fans need to accept that we're not going to be very good next year. The Colts need help everywhere or will soon need it as positions such as 4-3 DE/3-4 OLB so the Colts really need just go BPA for the most part and not worrying about having to get a CB, 3-4 DE, NT, etc in this draft.

That being said, Collie is a very good slot WR. He made a lot of plays on 3rd down last year for the Colts. The reason why he wasn't on the field more last year is because we didn't have a QB who could play effectively with 3 WR slots on 1st and 2nd down.

However, A team can utilize two TEs effectively so I loved our TE picks. The Patriots have shown just how effective two TE sets can be. However, a team isn't going to be playing four wide very often. Who knows maybe T.Y. Hilton will become a good player or at least solid niche player for the Colts. I guess I don't hate the pick but I can't say I'm a huge fan of the pick just because we already have Collie.

I would have liked seeing us taking a split end/flanker, RB, OL, 3-4 DE, 3-4 OLB, 3-4 ILB, NT, CB, or S with our fourth pick though - not a slot WR/KR/PR.

I think that LaMichael James is probably going to be a good pro. But I seriously question why the Niners went RB that early. Gore and Hunter seems to be a pretty stout RB rotation on its own. Not sure why you'd prioritize adding another player at that position. I guess if you want to make sure that you solidify the run game, it makes some sense. But there's not going to be enough work to go around for all 3.

I like what the Bengals are doing so far, but the 2 DTs is just weird to me unless they are able to deal away one of their current guys. I don't see any reason why they would carry 5 DTs.

Cousins going where he has zero hope of starting unless RGIII is injured but seems to be better than anything else Washington has.

Would be funny if it played out like the Shuler/Frerotte draft.

I could see Cousins head butting a wall, then bouncing around the league as a backup, while Congressman Griffin settles into his DC home.

Chapman to the Colts. Awesome pick.

While I don't disagree, I wonder why they haven't grabbed a RB. I haven't seen the guy play but what is wrong with Chris Polk? His numbers seem to suggest an insane amount of talent, he's got good grades everywhere I look, why not grab him?

Polk has a degenerative shoulder condition, could be susceptible to injury. I think they're worried he could be like Chris Perry.

Other than that, I love Polk. Complete RB. I've wanted him more than any other RB in this draft save Richardson.

It's also possible that the team is content with a committee of Law Firm / Scott / Leonard.

I've seen McShay, Mayock and Kiper all say the Bengals have had the best draft thus far.

Consecutive years of a top five draft by the "experts" is really quite amazing for this franchise

Well the fourth round was a pretty nice one for the Cards-got the OT that dropped to them in the 3rd and they didn't pick-when some people had him going in the first round. Pretty weird that someone with that potential with no character problems that I've heard about dropped that far.

Now I'm curious to see where Coastal Carolina's CB Josh Norman goes. He's in both McShay's and Kiper's Best 10 available currently so could go anywhere here soon I hope.

Lions trade up for a CB but he's from Albion, aka a small college in MI. In short, he has size and did well at the combine.

And now after ignoring their biggest need till the fourth round, the Cards go back to back O-Line picks, taking a G out of Washington.
