Just wondering - where does the money go from purchases of items from the different shops and hotel stays? Into our treasury?

Actually, I think we get 10% of items sold in the shop, but nothing from hotel stays.

Well got the Tailor 45% of the way thru level 2, but my motivation is too low to continue (80%) - so im off to dig some graves and hit level 12, then off to the janitors closet for the night

it's 5% from items sold in shops to non-members of the town. In other words, items you sell at the full price (4 times the price for town members), like a donkey sold for $1000. Items sold to town members don't give anything back to the town...

I'm finishing coal mining in 2 minutes and will start walking to El Dolado right away. Should be there 24 minutes after that with $104 in my pockets. Will be enough to put in a couple hours of work on the general store...

Luke Warmwater is awake & off to tend some sheep. Trying to get the three wool needed for a $50 bonus (from the Henry's Birthday quest) to dump that in the treasury.

just started a 2 hour session working on the General Store in El Dolado, and will go to sleep after that. Only $44 left in the treasury, will need more if we want to work on more buildings tomorrow.

I might split my time with carving some claims tomorrow too. Usually get around $50 for two hours with an average of 1.5 flags at $16 each for that same period...

praying for 8 more minutes and then putting in what I think should be the final 30 minutes to get the general store up in El Dolado.

Pulled in to El Dolado this morning, dropped off a few coins for the cause, now I'm back out tending to some more sheep. Wiggly little buggers. Good thing the wool makes em easy to hang on to.

I just got to level 12. My gross construction LP is now 129. Add another 5% for town buildings. Should be about 135. I'm going to sell all of my product in our shiny new general store and see if we have enough money for 2 hours of tailor building. If not, I'll go back to putting up telegraph poles.

Has anyone done much grave digging? I can now do that and the 22% luck rating makes me think that might be worthwhile.

grats on the leveling up. I've updated your info on the Empire website.

As for grave digging, I have done it a few times and yes, there are some nice items to find in there. In another world, I found a gray slouched hat once. Save you from checking WestStats, it's +12 setting traps or $110 resale value. Not saying I've not done it other times and got nothing, or crappy things, but yeah 22% is about an item for every two hour period...

I may give grave digging a try. I think I can also do some quest jobs again, so I'll mix in a few of those if they have money rewards.

After selling all of my product, I've got another $120ish to add to the town coffers. That gives us $241 total so I'm off to the church to pray twice and will then start the tailor. Our towns are taking shape nicely.

can i get a troutville invite....
i need to buy as donkey and drop some cash in the collection plate.
Also I will be ready for a nap when I get there. Is it possible to lay down for free and then leave the town and open the slot? Or do I need to hold back enough cash for a bed?

Seems like a good time to remind folks about the Google site Frog Man set up to help us keep track of the FOFC'ers & their in-game names. It's also got some info about the two towns, their shop inventories, etc.
Home of the FOFC Empire on World 8 of The West ‎(The FOFC Empire on The West)‎

If you haven't checked it out yet then give it a try. Also, if you visit, be sure to take a look at the Big Census of FOFCers in World 8 & see if your data is correct. In particular we could still use the construction gross labour point (=construction skill*3 + repair skill + leadership skill) info for a lot of players, if you could post that here, or any level/character class info that needs updating it'd be helpful.

Should we put our gross labour points to include equipment that has bonuses on it as well?

With bonuses mine is 12, without it is 8 (I know neither is alot right now)

Yes, whatever your max capability would be. Thanks for reminding me about the bonuses, I didn't even think about saying that part.

I have no more energy but will pay to stay if I am going to restrict someone else.

The Tailor is well underway at El Dolado. 63% done now from one 2-hour session...unless someone helped me that I didn't see. I'm robbing...I mean digging...some graves now.

Up to level 4 now, I like the quests that give you 30 experience

I am trying to save my money so I can donate a good amount soon. I am near both towns so I will figure out which one might need it more - but that probably won't be for a few days yet.

I will hit level 11 in about an hour. I'm almost back up to $300. When I hit that mark, I'll donate $200 of it to one of the towns. Just let me know where it is most needed.

Cheers!

Im betting El Dolado might need it more, Troutville is sitting at $1,130.

After I finish up building a railroad station, im heading back to town to put another 2 hours in the Tailor, should put it around 90% done.

Who's our contact there?

Just sent you an invite. Luke Warmwater (me), Old Dirty Froggie (Frog Man), or Nunzio (BrianD) can all do invites for El Dolado.

If your invitation happens to get cancelled (you'll get an in-game msg if it does), that would just mean someone else needed to zip in & out before you arrived. Just msg any/all of us for another invitation if you need it.

If I can get an invite for El Dolado, I'm next door and about to go to sleep for 8 hours. I'll drop off all the cash I have (only about $60) for the town and then check in to the hotel, then leave town to free up the spot. Probably about 30 minutes or so for me I'm guessing.

Also, I'm going to be afk for the next 3 hours or so (VERY much against my will), so anyone needing access to El Dolado should try to catch Frog Man or Brian D.

Dropped off money, but found the hard way that you can't sleep and then leave town. Now have no money to rent a room.

Guess I'm out of commission until I get more energy later

Anyways, dropped $75 in for the town.

Hit level 10 this afternoon and I selected worker as my class. Still only at around 95 construction points.

Getting to level 7 and then having the ability to work on the railroad really got me to level 10 way fast.

Just dinged lvl 13 and now sit @ 183 LP! Motivation to build in town right now is @ 91%, so im going to bust out some quests. I cant believe the amount of XP im getting from building railroad stations, 114xp from that last 2 hour job.

I'm gonna assume that 95 is with bonus from items, but without taking into account the 5% extra you will get from being a worker, right?

I'll put 95 on the census for now.

I think we've got 1 or 1.5 hours left on the tailor in El Dolado. Between the current town funds and what I'm carrying, we should have enough money to finish. I'll be playing with my sleep schedule tonight to get enough energy to finish off the shop and then we can look at the next step.

My first foray into grave digging resulted in a rusty dagger. Damage is 7-17 and requires level 17 to use. I'm still not sure if I'll hang on to it for the next 5 levels, or sell it for the $61.

I'll finish off the shop in maybe 30 minutes. I'm at 19 energy points and will go eat dinner then come back and schedule some work on it. Since we're going for level two of the tailor rightaway, we can also both work on it at the same time...

As for the dagger, as a worker, you'll get a quest at some point that will yield a wrench that does 20-24 damage and gives you +2 construction. You can let go of the rusty dagger for $61.
