Seconded. Not sure how anyone plays w/o that information readily available.
I'd also like to use this post to bitch about my Christmas sched in 2008 with 3 strikers and 8 total first team players out. A Liverpool A Newcastle A Chelsea H Man Utd A Tottenham (FA Cup) That is all. Last edited by Fighter of Foo : 05-04-2007 at 08:55 AM. |

I'd really like to jump back into this game, but I'm unemployed. Exeter sacked me, and I've had all kinds of trouble trying to find another job. I know that I could start over or create another manager, but I'd rather have "myself" find work. I want to carry over my stats and reputation (poor as they may be) from Exeter to my new club.
Ah, well. I'll just keep applying for jobs, and maybe somebody will take a shot on an American who could barely keep a promotion contender out of the relegation zone.

I can not find that skin anywhere, do you have a link. Also I plan on managing the Wycombe Wanderers in English League 2. I also set my database to large. If I select France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and some other European nations and set them to view only what are the differences compared to not including them at all and just having the English leagues? Thanks. |

I'm at a point where I'm stuck. And it's good-stuck, but it's stuck. I have a core of players in their 30's who have brought me to the top (mostly 30-33 right now) and can still perform. But then I have a group of 20-25 year olds (the future) who are amazing and will be the future of my club. But I don't want to shunt the older guys aside for the kids. Hell, I just resigned 3/4 of the old guys to 7+ million dollar per year deals because I want them around.
But I suppose that's the dilemma of real managers. I just...don't know what I should do. Guess I should devise some sort of "playing time schedule" or something so everyone stays happy. |

I understand the "all the money up front" part. I have no issues with that. Where I have issues is the transfer date. To say I can't put in a bid that meets a clause but then not want to take that player till the end of the year, you'd think his club would actully be happy to do that. Instead it is rejected, even though it meets the minimum fee. |

iirc, the demo is the try and buy and should be fully patched, especially now that the patch has been out for a little while. Check under game status somewhere, it should read 7.0.2. FM

weird, might be because you downloaded from a non official source. Or they simply do it that way now. Beats me...

Not that its a big deal as I'm going to buy the game, but now I have to try and download something from SI again, which is always a dicey proposition.

I simmed open ended with no applying for job offers when I left my house about 10 hours ago. Im hoping for some history in theleague and starting it up. Very vanilla setup with just English league from L2 and up.

I'm just guessing that it makes more sense to give this to somebody on your back line, right? For example a fullback? |

I tend to give it to my center mids so send through balls that spring the forwards on goal with breakaways. I good defensive midfielder would also work well. I'm not so sure about a full-back, unless you have the play offensively.

Most teams build chances from midfield - a few of the best have started building from right at the back, however to truly do this requires a really exceptional defender who is comfortable with the ball at his feet and has the vision to pick out passes as well..... these are few and far between. For me I tend to play a 4-1-3-2 (ie. 442 with a DMC as a screen in front of the defense), my DMC is the play-maker and does the through balls etc. for me. Why? - its safer than a defender doing it (if he's tackled there are men behind him), its easier on him than a normal midfielder (he's further back from their midfield so they're unlikely to press him as much as it he was in midfield) ... finally there are more quality defensive midfielders available in the world than any other position at this moment in time (thus they're also a little 'cheaper' than attacking midfielders transfer and wage wise) ... |

So...is there a way to be able to tell whether a player will sign for my team, before going the trouble of getting a transfer offer accepted first? I'm coaching Almansa, and no one will play for me, even players on U18 teams at my level.

When you do player search, ask your assistant to filter out unreasonable targets. That should do the trick

That doesn't always work for lower level teams. Depending on the status of your team and league, you may have to search only for players who are out of contract. |

The scout report will also indicate how likely the player is to sign.

I'm having an issue with training.
Every single player attribute is going down. I am playing in League 2, as Grimsby. According to my coach screen, I have 3 stars for aerobics and strength, 2 stars for everything else but GK (1 star). Every player is training hard in at least two areas, and every arrow is going down, even young players who aren't hurt. What am I missing? |

training them too hard? do you have any coaches? honestly at this point, I rarely even mess with training, and I find that it tends to do a decent job if you just leave it alone, so I might not be too much help. I don't necessarily do that because I think it's "broken" or whatever, just seems...easier that way. |

Is that the case consistantly? Or just now? Bear in mind that the up or down arrow is just recent movement... if you had a guy who started at 12 in an attribute, through training got to 14, then you had a run of a 2-3 games in a week, he's tired, you haven't trained as much and it drops to a 13, then you'll have a down arrow even though the training is going well overall. |

Ok, so I am managing Rushden and Diamonds and Canada. When I took over Canada we had a match scheduled against SOuth Korea on the same day as our Rushden and Diamonds home date with Northampton. So I had decided to manage Canada and leave my assistant take care of Rushden. However, somehow I managed to be in Seoul and in Irthlingborough, UK on the same day. Is this a bug? Or is it meant to let me manage both? I think in situations like that you should have to choose one or the other.

Perhaps its my imagination, but does anyone know why my schedule is always front loaded with home games? I'm playing as Colorado, and 10 of my first 12 games are at home, which seems a bit excessive.

Its meant to let you manage both - its not wholly 'realistic' but is a gameplay concession .... might change in the future (if enough people request it) but it doesn't affect many people and those that have had it happen in the past have generally appeared to prefer it this way. |
