Random question with regards to online dating.



I'm 5'8" 1/2 and about 145 to 150 lbs. I run quite a bit though so I'm more slender then most men. I currently list my height as 5'9" and body type as slender. I'm not rail skinny but I'm skinnier then probably 80% to 90% of guys.



I think I might have a better chance of getting replies if I list myself as 5'9" and average body type. What are people's thoughts? Am I misrepresenting myself if I say I have average body type? I consider myself slender but not skinny.



Does it even matter since I have pictures?



Also any other minor tips about how to get more replies besides stuff regarding your actual bio and pictures?

I'm good friends with an ex-girlfriend. She busted her boyfriend on match, after noticing he was still active on it. She set up a fake account with a woman that was what he would have thought perfect. She "borrowed" pics from a match.uk woman. All she did was look at his profile from the fake account. He wrote to her the next day. After setting up a date with him she wrotes me wanting to know what to do... I had her tell him that a friend of hers was trying match & showed her the guy she had a date with... who she was a bit surprised to find was him.

Unbelivably she stayed with him for six months after that, with his "I don't know what I was thinking" apology. If I had done that she would have attacked me with a hatchet (like her mom did to her dad, leaving a nice mark in his front door.)

Its diff depending on for guys or women. For women its easier to stay red so long as you get a lot of messages you arent replying to. For me its harder to stay red if you arent getting a lot of volume.

For each message received and sent it affects the color but its way easier for women than for men. Honestly I dont even think outside of a major city that its an incentive for a guy to be red because women wont write him thinking hes unapproachable or some kinda asshole.

In New York City its worth it but in other places it matters less. You might get more replies than normal because some women think when you write them that you must be really thinkin they are special. But it doesnt matter as much as you would think.

So, the woman from over the summer, with the crazy movie-type stuff...it didn't work out. The law of averages dictates that it generally won't. Sucked, but that's life.

I was ready to get away from dating, work on personal goals, etc. Then, I saw a woman who seemed interested, and cute, to me. So, I decided to give it a go. This was two weeks ago tomorrow night. She wrote back quickly, that night. In fact, we wrote back several times that evening, and exchanged phone numbers rather quickly, too.

A couple of days later, we talked on the phone. For five hours. Legit five hours. And there was no lull in conversation. We didn't even realize five hours went by; I made mention of things at three hours, and at four and a half. It was rather surprising to us both. We made plans to see each other last Saturday.

Then Friday rolled around, and we decided not to wait. We made plans to watch a movie at her place. I got there around 8pm.

We parted ways at 8pm Saturday night. She then came with me to my playoff game (baseball) Sunday morning, and watch us completely implode. All in all, I wasn't even that upset. I was, but I was also happy that, for the first time this season, I had a fan there to see me.

The chemistry is, as we both say, kind of ridiculous. I won't get ahead of myself, but she inspires me to write and to chronicle my day (we write emails to each other about the ridiculous stuff we encounter through our day), and there's a lot I like so far.

So...so far, so good.

Actually, I got a piece of news that made me laugh tonight. I took a multicultural course last January, as I wrapped up my Masters in Elementary Ed. I made a friend in said course, who I thought was quite attractive. We were both attached at the time, me to someone who whipped out the crazy card in May, she to someone who just wasn't quite doing it for her.

Long story short, we both became single in the early summer...I lived an hour away, but whatever. Didn't think much of it. It was then mentioned tonight that she had wished she had gotten to spend more time with me.

She said that as she was on a plane to head back to North Carolina, where she now lives, as she took a job there in September.

Throwing this here because there's nowhere else to put it really (random thoughts?)

There's a young woman in two of my classes (assumed 23-26). We talk pretty much every class day (Tue/Thur) since we see enough of each other. Today we were talking about music and she started thumbing through my iPod. She asked me how I felt about The Doors, said I loved Morrison, etc, etc.

She then proceeds to tell me she's got a friend (female) coming up from Boston next week and that we should all get together because she thinks her friend and I would get along well. I agreed, because A. she's fairly attractive, B. great personality.

Anyway, my thought process is this: she's interested in me and was simply looking for a way to ask me to hang out without it being too serious, and having a friend with her is a way for her to gauge interest and get a verdict on me from a friend.

My thought? Snap a picture of the two of them when she's there and send it to me and tell me which one the friend is. If I'm attracted to her then you can set me up and we can totally double-date sometime.
