I see illegal formation penalties all the time that are not called. This is no different.

That shot was a full two seconds before the guy finished getting set. Granted, even after getting set, he was maybe a foot behind the guy next to him, but it didn't end up nearly as bad as that screencap made it look.

That's as likely to be called as Hines Ward moving forward at the snap every single time he's gone in motion for the past five years.

Edit: After watching it again, the tight end wasn't even a foot behind the tackle. Maybe 6-8 inches.

Edit to add silliness: I bet if the person had taken a screencap 15 seconds earlier, he wouldn't have seen anyone on the line of scrimmage. There would be 11 Broncos all standing in a circle 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage for some reason!

This is right as the ball is hiked. Illegal formation? Maybe, though I see worse on a consistent basis. Should the Steelers have been flagged for impersonating a playoff team? Absolutely.

If they call that an illegal formation, they'd probably have to call about 75% of offensive plays for illegal formation.

He hasn't moved forward in weeks...his completions are all negative yardage!

I dealt with a Steelers fan today. My God. The guy talked about how Eddie Royal wasn't in bounds on his TD, talked about how the Donkies were lucky to win with Shebow, yapped about how big Denver would get torched next week, and then railed on the Denver fans for booing a "great" QB out of town in Orton, Cutler and Plummer. (1 out of 3 aint bad I guess?)
