The El Dolado hotel should be ready in about an hour. Did we decide that the general store comes next and then the tailor? Those may take a little while as we replenish the town coffers.

chinaski asked me in PM what he should build after the general store and here's a copy of my reply: Quote:
I still think we should go with 1) tailor level 1 2) tailor level 2 3) gunsmith level 1 4) residences level 2 It's all depending on how we are able to work with the limited 5 spots in residences. That one could be moved up a bit to bring us to 10 spots... And yeah, don't forget to pray before building shops. FM

Just dropped $78 into the El Dolado treasury. That happened to be how much I had on me and brings the town account to exactly $120.
I'm off to pick 30 minutes of tobacco nearby, which leaves me with 5 energy left at this point. Hope you builders remembered to hire a bellboy

sure, sure, Pedro'll take care of ya. Just make sure you lock your door, and even then, keep your gun (or slingshot in your case) on the bedstand. He likes to go through rooms. Sad, but he was the only illegal mexican available... About the hotel and being able to finally rest for free, it's really nice. Now means you can go sleep for three hours when your energy is completely wasted, and then go work for two hours. FM

I'm 5 minutes out and then 30 minutes of building to finish. Being that new, you may have to carry your own bags to the room.

Y'know, it's pretty sad that I hadn't even thought about it that way until you brought it up. I was just thinking of it being open making it easier to do hit & run deposits into the treasury. I like your plan even better

As nice as the hotel scheme is, I'll be much happier when we can get our general store built. Being able to sleep and sell all our product will be nice.

well, I've had some experience. When you have a chance of running your guy empty on weekends, and you still want to do more, you check the energy level when he's sleeping about every hour or so. FM

Slept late Gonna get 30 minutes of prayer in and then spend 2 hours building the last part of the Tailor. Level one of the Tailor should be good to go within 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Dont forget to get in 30 minutes of prayer before starting in on 2 hours of constructing the Store, Tailor or Gunsmith. |

There's currently 4 residency spots open in Troutville. If you haven't donated yet and would like to, nows a great time to do so. Post/PM or Telegram me for an invite (Van Zandt).
Thanks! |

And Chinaski's post reminds me that there's also a couple of spots open at the moment in El Dolado if you're closer to there & would like to make a donation.
Two FOFC towns, (almost) no waiting

Does it make any difference where we donate? I'm prospecting for another half hour and will likely have some cash to pony up.

Dat King is working his way down south, where he hears tell of a pair of right-friendly towns...one named after a fish, the other after some sorta double-post thingamajig. Anyways, he figures it may take a couple o' days more to get there, seein' as how he's leggin' it and takin' work as he finds it along the way.
(Just dinged level 7...started right in the middle of the map. Doing quests and taking jobs as I go.)

As far as the game is concerned, the towns are completely separate. They both have their own buildings and town coffers. Only the town that gets the donation can use it. At this point you can probably donate at either town since we are both running through all of our cash pretty regularly. El Dolado is slightly behind Troutville, so I'm sure there would be no complaints if you wanted to help that town catch up. |

Had to hold off on a donation for today. Bought some boots instead to boost my construction so I could do the railroad tasks since I was close and there is more cash/XP in that then what I was doing. ($12/17 XP in 1 hour seems nice)

I'm sleeping for the next 8 hours. I'll check back in before midnight to either work on the store or get myself up to level 12. If anyone needs an invite, I will be checking in from time to time. Message Jon or me and we'll get you an invite.

Along those same lines, Luke Warmwater is also sleeping at the moment but checking in periodically for any invite requests. If you happen to be in the neighborhood & are planning a contribution that would be great. Right now there's enough in the El Dolado treasury for Brian to do one more hour of work on the general store but with some contributions we could keep him even busier with a hammer & nails

okay, just left Troutville and will be doing a couple of two hour sessions of coal mining on my way to El Dolado, in hope of bringing in some money. My sellables brought in $72 which is a start and I might make about $100 in those four hours plus any item I find.
Should be at El Dolado around 10pm tonight. FM

I am pretty close to out of energy so can someone explain how that works? I assume I need to rest now, and resting at a hotel is best? I just pick the closest hotel and rest there? (I assume it costs money?). Or should I join up with a FOFC town for the night to rest and then as soon as checked into the hotel leave the town? (I'm near the FOFC towns as well).

if you do nothing (and even while you're working), your guy gains 3 energy points per hour. If you find a hotel but are not a member of the town in which the hotel is, you can get a room for $10 for 8 hours that will give you up to 64 points of energy back. You regain your energy more at a rate of 8 points per hour, so if you want, you can cancel your sleep at any time. You won't get any money back though. When you're a member of a town with a hotel and you're sleeping in your town's hotel, it's free, no matter what level of room you are sleeping in. Because there are levels, higher levels give your guy more rest... FM

Thanks! And since there are limits on town members, for now FOFC'ers are just joining towns to deposit money and leaving moreso than taking advantage of the hotels. That will come later once everyone can stay in the towns? |
