I was really hoping Carolina would draft Steve Smith.

Giants at 2.19 are now the only realistic hope for Brian Leonard in NY... do it.

Not so tough when many people (myself included) think he was a 1st round talent.

Woah. Watching the Drew Stanton pro-day tape...

Not pretty. Not pretty at all.

You are an idiot sometimes. Watch his game film. Pro days are overrated. He was amazing his junior year, and took a step back his senior year because of ZERO support or offensive line. He was worn down to the point despair because of the horrible situation he was in.

Take off your Maize and Blue glasses, and have an open mind. None of us know how good he'll be.

This is a very weak draft for quarterbacks. Other than the top two, there's nobody thats really any good.

I don't think you can deny how frightening that pro day film looked. It's a valid observation.

One more thing. I DESPISE when people make broad statements like this.

HOW IN THE FUCK CAN ANYONE KNOW HOW GOOD OR BAD ANY PLAYER WILL BE IN THE PROS????? History shows that the perceptions of players that are drafted OFTEN change when players actually play in the league for a while.

I was merely commenting on the tape of his pro day. It was awful. Watch it. If you still think I'm an idiot for thinking that then so be it.

I do have an open mind! I'd love nothing more for Stanton turn out to be an awesome pro, just like I did Charles Rogers. Let's hope Drew turns out better than Chuck.

Watch game tape. Period.

Pro days are not even remotely an exact science or indicative of the way a player might play in actual games. Drew's a gamer.

And actually you're wrong. Its very easy to tell whether a player will be good or not on draft day.

If a player is drafted by the Colts or the Patriots, chances are that player will be good.

If a player is drafted by the Raiders or the Jets, chances are that player will suck.

Not true. I always try to be honest and admit when the Spartans have bad teams, and if a player is horrible.

I love how the first highlight they show for Steve Smith is of him falling down on a route when there was no defender anywhere near him.

Yeah, that was my final hope. I'm happy for him, but I'm personally bummed I won't see him play much. St. Louis got themselves a hell of a player.

Glenn is a FA next year, Ugoh will be groomed to be our new LT and we can keep Freeney and Sanders (and who knows, maybe Clark too)

I know a lot of Colts fans are unhappy with our first two picks...but I'm quite happy. Feed the Big Dog, I say. We're never going to be a top 5 defense, and Gonzo will be a great pick for us I think. Our offense wasn't as good last year with Stockley injured so much. And Glenn is getting old and on a huge contract that is up soon, Polian always drafts a year or two ahead. We still got 2 thirds, 2 fourths, and 2 fifths along with our seventh (no sixth). At least according to ESPN. Plenty of space to pick up some depth at DT/S/CB and LB. Maybe even somebody who could start at OLB if they don't think any of the current lot can do it.

Polian knows what he's doing, I learned not to question even his craziest decisions a long time ago.

I like the deal for the Raiders, they got a veteran QB to fill in while JaMarcus gets ready and Williams could be a contributor. All they gave up is the 4th round pick they got for trading down in the second.

When you've got a chance to add a date rapist to your team, you do it.

Although I'd worry about his personal issues/legal problems, that is another potentially good move by the Browns.

"Veteran" in many cases is a synonym for "retread."

I find it funny that Cleveland has traded a pick in every round except the 1st and 7th to Dallas, plus their 1st next year, for Dallas's 1st, 2nd, and 6th.

Is there still a rookie salary cap?

Can Detroit fit Johnson, Stanton, 2 3rds, 2 4ths, 4 5ths and a 7th under that cap? Seems like a stretch to me.

I agree. Getting a 1st round pick WR and 3rd round pick QB with starting XP for #105 is a solid move. you have to think Moss will get moved now.

The draft picks are sunk costs as soon as the draft is over. Mike Williams gives them a bit of versatility to move Moss, but you have to imagine he's still going to be a project. He's proven nothing in the pros so far, so it seems that he was more of a throw in because Detroit wanted to get rid of him than a major piece.

I agree. It's not a huge price to pay for some potential upside. McCown is a better veteran QB than anything the Raiders have on their roster. As for Mike Williams... Good luck with him.

Maybe Oakland has figured out how to get more from lazy players......Moss, Branch, Williams..... Work ethic isnt exactly high priority for those Raiders.
