I'm only following the box score this game, but start of the 3rd Q the Mavs have 2 FTAs, while the Miami Wade's have 7, and 15 for the whole team.

Take this for what it is worth given my rooting interest.

Right now it seems that the Mavs are really gun shy about committing a solid(or hard) foul on the Heat. A lot of slaps (light slaps to be exact) on the elbow and wrists. The Mavs started off taking the ball to the hoop but have since been shooting jumpers. Lastly. the Heat are rarely contesting any clear shots going to the basket.

Agreed. The Heat have gotten out of the way a few times when the Mavs have beat their man to the hole. However, the Mavs are primarily shooting jumpers. It's no wonder there is a significant foul difference. As I typed this, Dirk finally took it strong to the hoop and he drew a foul.

Okay, that hovering camera that is attached to a wire has got to go. I can deal with it on the random play, but there was just a solid 3 minute stretch where they were locked into that camera angle, both teams couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, they were committing turnovers in transition, all without a stoppage, as that damn camera continued to nauseate me.

Wow. Mourning with a pair of very nice, clean blocks.

Not sure which block you were referring to, but the one that caused fans to throw stuff on the court - i don't know HOW that wasn't a foul...

Terry misses the last second shot that might have tied it. Miami wins 95-92.

Shaq gets his first title without Kobe.

hehehe..yeah, I didn't want Shaq to win because of the whole giving him a ring without Kobe.

But Wade is an absolute beast and watching him made this series a lot more bearable and those role players did their thing when it mattered and Dirk and Co, completely came up flat.

Especially with all those guys on that team that were veterans who have been playing forever, like Payton and Mourning..so...good for them.

Why would you present the trophy on the court when the winning team is on the road?

I thought that too. Stern wants to rub it in. Ok, not really.

Stern is annoying, but Miami is letting him have it.

I miss the old days when they had ceremonies in the locker room, sprayed champagne and all that.

It's cool that Shaq wanted to give Wade the MVP trophy and took it from Stern or at least, tried.

Wade was a beast and Haslem played great tonight.

I know that but it does not make sense. The fans are going to boo because their team did not win. Somebody is going to decide because the fans booed the winning team they are somehow classless or something stupid like that. There is no benefit to doing it this way. If the home team wins, sure have a big celebration with the fans and all. If the road team wins, you do it in the locker room.

I did not see that as a Kobe dig. Shaq was just complimenting Wade. I think he was correct too. Wade has shown that he is an incredible player.

That was nice to see that Shaq got a ring without Kobe. I was ticked off when they let Shaq go and although he is a step or two slower, he is a great team guy. He could have easily tried to score with every opportunity against the centers from the Mavericks, but he has always been unselfish when it comes to playing on the court.

And I give much props to Alonzo Mourning who basically kept them in the lead with a number of those block shots.

Plus I am happy to see Gary Payton win one after watching him with the Seattle Supersonics for years and lose in the finals against the bulls. He made some big shots in Game 3 and 5.

Congrats to the Heat and I hope to someday see my Lakers in the Finals again.

Bummer, I'm a little dissapointed the Heat won, but props to them for winning 4 straight.

Is Gary Payton a HOF, hell yes. He made critical shots to help the Heat win and in his prime, he was one of the best defenders in the league.

I was really pissed the Mavs only scored 2 points when Shaq and Mourning were out... damn it!! They shoulda been driving to the hoop but nooooo.

Even though I was rooting for the Mavs, I was happy to see Riley, Gary Payton, Alonzo Mourning, Shannon Anderson, and Wade get a ring, they totally deserve it.

Mavs... close, but no cigar. Oh well.

Now I hope Payton retires... at the top.

Wade was incredible... no man 3 years in the league should be able to do what he did. The man can rebound, score, pass, defend...he's such a stud!! ...so dreamy

Note to Kobe: watch a few clips of Wade and take note YOU FREAKING BALLHOGGER! It's a team sport fool...

Ugh, damn the Lakers for getting rid of Shaq... fatal mistake

The dream is complete. I can now tick pro basketball off the list of teams I follow winning a championship. D. Wade? What can you say about him. I am not ready to call him the best player in the league but I would not trade him for any player in the league. Shaq? Thanks big fella for keeping your promise. I can't really say I have warmed up to Antoine Walker and Gary Payton too much but I am happy that they got their ring. I am really happy for Zo. I have had the opportunity to meet Zo on a few occasions and work in serveral of the community projects he has put together in Miami. Despite the image that others have of him, he is one of the best people I have ever met.

EDIT: Forgot to mention my fellow Miamian, Udonis Haslem. Undrafted and told he could not play in the NBA, I am elated he got to win a championship with his hometown team.

I wanted the Mavs to win, but I'm glad Zo and Payton got their rings.

Antoine Walker winning an NBA title has almost reduced me to tears though...

It's a shame Game 5 went down like it did though, because I think the Mavs have every right to feel ripped off.

I really don't think any of that "This is the best player/coach..." is a stab at all. These are the guys you just won a championship with. Of course, you'll get lost in the moment... and you aren't going to say they aren't the best with them standing two feet next to you.

Oh, and FWIW, I've never seen a crowd 'boo' a team that won a NBA Finals trophy, World Series, or Stanley Cup on the road. They usually give them a small golf-ish clap.

Awesome that Zo finally got a ring. He deserves it for all the hard work he has put in.

Boo to Shaq and Walker winning. Could have gone the rest of their careers without winning a title and I wouldn't have felt bad.

That's the reason I don't like him. But the Nets got Vince Carter and that turned out a lot better for us than having Mourning would've and I thought about it last night after the game and thought to myself that a veteran player -- especially one who works himself back into shape after having the sort of problems he did with his kidneys -- deserves to play where he wants and if a team like the Raptors felt it was worthwhile to give him money NOT to play for them, then more power to him.

After all, they could've played hardball and tried to deal him elsewhere, but they opted against that.

So..I decided to give him a pass. Payton was great back in the day and I felt bad he didn't get a ring during the time when they all went to LA to get one.

But I'm not one of those guys who thinks guys ought to get a ring before finishing. Like, I understand the reasoning behind it, but..I don't think in every case that its something that has the same meaning as winning with a team of guys that you toiled with throughout a career, rather than a fly-by-night one year situation.
