Have to say, love the reporting we're getting right now... interviewing a local resident who's friend is a cop and was just on the phone with him... Says he's in a backyard in someone's boat, has been shot.

I would think they have a huge advantage now with all of the firepower in the neighborhood.

Best idea I read was to "dump a bag of spiders in that boat". I don't know if police have bags of spiders readily available, but that might get him out if he's alive.

Depends on the purpose I guess. Shut down (locked down) a major American city on a Friday. Got 24 hour news coverage. Economic and emotional losses pretty big

Can somebody please answer the question how we (the U.S.) can interview someone on their ties to extremist terrorists in 2010...let them leave the country in 2012...they return 6 months later with the training needed to do this crap...and not have a clue this was a possibility?

The guy has to be on a list...the leaving the country should have been a red flag...coming back should have been another red flag.

I'm sure we'll get all the details down the road, but ya, having a guy on a list doesn't stop anyone from doing anything except flying.

The father saying they were framed is comical. I have an image of these 2 rolling down the road as cops chase them tossing dynamite out the window yelling "We were framed Dad!"

Ambulance is leaving. Blood was on the boat and that's what lead them to there.

Thankfully this kind of stuff doesn't happen much, but when it does, do neighboring cities / states lend cops to ensure that while the area cops are doing manhunts and such, petty crime isn't rampant everywhere else in the city?

They're still covering the whole city, they're just spread a lot more thin. Response times would be slower for anything, but they'll still have coverage.

Everyone did such an amazing job. So proud of all the workers. But I feel that the politicians more than did their job. And I'm not usually a huge fan of the Governor, but he and Menino were stellar throughout this.

There are officers who have been working since last night and earlier, maybe with a short break in the middle. What do you do when you get home? Have a beer? Check facebook? Damn.

I don't ever listen to the news but I now know why Mrs. Bucc watched CBS News. The anchor seems very professional, knows how to listen and not give in to hyperbole. From what I hear second-hand about cable news talking heads (CNN, Fox, MSNBC, etc.), I'm glad to hear there are real news presenters left as oppose to shrill tabloiders.
