I'm listening to the NFL network in my car, and I swear they are almost going to cry everytime the Browns fail to draft Colt Mccoy.

Though I wonder why Cleveland traded up for a running back.

Spikes, bad pick for a 4-3, but in a 3-4 he is going to be a great two down player at ILB.

Eh, Mayhew reminds us he was groomed by Millen. Griffen, Sapp, Bowman, Norwood among others still available and he takes a reach on Spievey.

Don't agree with that. Griffen is raw, Sapp is coming off serious injury, Bowman has off the field issues and Norwood has no position right now.

Speivey is a press corner, solid vs the run and has solid instincts. These are the types of DB they want.

I think more pissed that Pete never coached up his deficiencies or told him how much they would cost him in the draft.

Taylor Mays unloads on Pete Carroll | ProFootballTalk.com

In that link, he seems more upset about Pete never correcting his tackling and backpedaling technique.

And now Raiders pass up Bruce Campbell for Veldheer who looks like a solid player and is a potential sleeper.

This is the most un-Raiders like draft in a long time. Getting solid football players at need positions.

Interesting take on him, differs from several scouting reports I've read. Excels in zone coverage, questionable in run support, and lacks catch up speed.

nice pickups on the AZ TE and Brandon Spikes for the Pats (Spikes can slot right in next to Mayo as MLB starting). Weird choice on the OLD they picked up...doesn't seem to have good measurables or good instincts, but has produced.

All Iowa plays is zone. He played in a simple system that limited what he can do.

For the GT fans out there, what's the skinny on Morgan Burnett? The Packers badly need a backup safety, but I don't think he'll need to start with a healthy Bigby and Collins. Which safety spot does he project best to and can he play nickel/dime in year 1?

That was fitting. Shipley and McCoy are drafted with consecutive picks.

Most of the summaries I've read seem to think he could play either safety spot. He can cover (played some CB at times), not afraid to hit anybody (and seems to enjoy doing so), reads run/pass and routes very well. Sometimes takes the wrong angle to make a play & has to rely on athletic ability to make up the difference, relatively fast but not a burner by any means.

Great value for Denver getting Decker in the 3rd. Not a guy who will break a lot of big plays, but he'll be great in the passing and running game for them.

The Eagles have earned my trust over the years, but what the heck is up with the selection of Daniel Te'o-Nesheim from Washington.

Armanti Edwards to the Panthers. For some reason, I didn't see the Lions picking him.

Without being to much of a homer, I think whoever drafts Dennis Pitta from BYU will get a steal for a great TE...his only knock is his blocking, which is what most of the TE's have as their weakness...

Did you catch Berman immediately asking Gruden how he felt Gerhart compared to Mike Alstott?

I'm not real crazy about the Steelers' draft, overall.

Pouncey was a nice pick, but Worilds and Sanders (from what I have read) seem more like situational guys. Worilds as a pass rusher on passing/3rd downs and Sanders as a #3/returner. All three seem like pretty safe picks that will be productive, but the latter two seem like they don't project as starters once/if they get the hang of things and they are kind of redundant with some of the Steelers' recent FA signings (Sanders to Antwaan Randle El and Worilds to Lawrence Timmons who will possibly get bumped outside on passing situations w/ the signing of Lawrence Foote).

As well as the Bungles. They have a resurgent Benson in the backfield and Shipley likely in the slot. Lord help me. The sum total of my experience in Ohio is a 5 day training class in Cleveland in 2000.

For the Pack, love the Bulaga pick and I was glad to see Ted trade up (almost stopped my heart) to get the safety he wanted (2 more safeties went a few picks later - so it was a smart move). Don't know much about the DE/DT Neal, but he figures to be a solid rotation guy a the 3-4 DE.

Going into the draft, the team's needs were OT, S, CB, DE and LB. Given we filled 3 of the top 4 needs with (apparent) quality players that should compete off the bat is nice. I'd like to see GB get a corner, LB, OG and QB with their remaining 4 picks. But, overall, it's a pretty strong start.

I think you might end up liking him. He was quite good by last year and from the local coverage the word was that he was helping himself a bunch in the combines.

They tend to draft good pros in the first round, but their second and third selections just tend to not be that great(woodley notwithstanding).

We don't need another OLB, we don't need another #3 type WR. Really these make no sense, and for instance I'd much rather have the Panthers #2 next year than the guy we took in the 3rd round. But whatev.

They still need DL help, and I'd have liked to see them go after a NT early.

Another very cool thing from Eric Berry. He'll wear #29 for the Chiefs, in honor of former Vol teammate Inky Johnson. Johnson's career ended early in his junior season when he suffered a serious shoulder injury that cost him nearly all use of one arm, despite several surgeries, regular therapy & 2.5 years later it's still in a sling. Inky was a graduate assistant under Monte Kiffin last year, cited as an inspirational leader & positive influence on the team with his positive attitude, he's hoping his future includes high school coaching.

Very solid gesture by Berry to pick that number in tribute to a teammate.
