SS DJ McGilvery is 3rd on the Silverbacks' SS depth chart. While well-compensated, he wants to see the field more. Hoping that someone out there has a use for a SS who will be 4th level as of the next update, and that they have something to trade Larry

There will eventually be leagues below each "Pro" league for lower level teams and players. Teams will get demoted/promoted between these leagues.

Champion > Pro > AAA > AA > A

Champion has 32 teams, but 1 league
Pro has 32 teams, but 31 leagues
AAA has 32 teams, but 31 leauges
AA has 32 teams, but 31 leauges
A has 32 teams, but 31 leauges

Note: AAA, AA, A are just for example...they will have different names.

NON-USA League Restructuring: Will be the same as above.

There is 1 "Champion" level league above the "Pro" leagues that's for the elite winners of the 31 pro leagues to battle it out for supremacy. Those that don't win get bumped back down to regular "Pro."

It's sort of a combination of the current system and the big tournament idea, without the extra time required for the tourney where other teams don't get to do anything.

Seems better than having to win 20 seasons in a row to make it from ZZZ to Pro, to me.

---

The current Pro league would be next season's "Champion" league. All the current AAA, AA, A, etc leagues would be converted to the "Pro" leagues, and given a cash infusion to go with it. Then we would add the rest of the leagues along side them. We'll come up with various names for them to make them sound fun and cool (no more A, AA, AAA, etc.

Looks like they are not going to be using this. It sounds like they will now go with a more pyramid type league structure.

I'm intending to make a level 4 defensive player. Does anyone have a starting spot available for one? I don't care about the position.

I need an starter DT and CB and a level 4 would be enough. My team is all human, even the backups and we have an active team forum. If you are interested create them, give me the link and i'll sign you up. I have Subby already as MLB.

More highlights, as promised...

De La Rosa says hi again...

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=628836

Good hustle by Sven Williams on this play

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=628893

Jeeber drops a 3rd down pass

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=628969

Sabotai with a great open field tackle

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=629171

Alan T's lone tackle, but it's a nice one. He takes on three guys at once and still makes the stop.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=629178

Hawk makes a terrific block on this play to help spring Johnny for 15.5 yards

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=629239

McGillicuddy makes the sack here, but both DE's get great pressure on the play.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=629401

Another good play for our DE's leads to a Szur sack

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=629411

More pressure from the DE's and Tabasco Ted Hopper comes off the bench to make a nice play

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=629469

Johnny takes it outside, but once again the Guard decides to stop blocking for him

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=629349

Jeeber takes on two guys here to spring Johnny for a 7 yard gain.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=629502

Joey Flabbus somehow breaks through a tiny hole for 8 yards, but fumbles it. Luckily Alex Donovan is there take it for 6 more yards and put us in range for a 4th quarter tying FG

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=629530

One of three 3rd downs that were converted on the Atoms game winning drive. Looks like we're playing soft coverage. Maybe we're good enough to be more aggressive now?

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=629592

Ben Lewis gets beat inside for the game winning TD

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=629657

Nice return by fingers gives us hope...

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=629680

...but an errant throw by McManus ends it.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=629687

I really like the way our DT's have worked together in creating their characters. This prompted me to add a bunch of stickied threads in the team forum so you guys can discuss strategies and suggestions for each position group.

Our OL needs a lot of help. We are 3rd in our conference with 38 hurries. Sacks aren't quite as bad.

That one hurt. It was like my guy's first shining moment and then he fumbled it away at the end.

Well genius, if you didn't have a 12 stamina and the backup has a 16... ya, that might account for it don't you think?

I must admit i'm really really addicted to this game, like i have not ever been to any other online game (maybe omerta at first). It's really well done, with enough deep both as GM and player. I own a team and 9 players and i'm really fighting against myself to not to buy more flex points and create a few more.

The ratings choice is really well done, with physical, mental and the special attributes, and owning a team all made of humans is a great experience.

I'm very addicted too Icy, I haven't tried the team owner part of the game, but I have far too many players ( 13 I think) and it's really fun to be part of all these small communities on the various teams, plus great to see your guys improve of course.

Yep, its hooked into me pretty hard right now. I'm really fighting the urge to create a few tackles and centers to see if I can create an all star cast of lineman.

I am at the point I watch each game using the play by play a couple times trying to get a handle on my players strengths and weaknesses.

Here's my favorite game to date, my second win among all my players, with Mac Stonewall getting the honors : http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=4706 . No pancakes, which sorta bummed me out when I first glanced at the stats. Then I saw over 200 yards on the ground and started smiling. Thats also when I noticed the experience change, this game gave me level 6. Stonewall played in 94 plays... My jaw dropped, because I had checked my stamina before watching the replay and thought I might have only played a short amount. Needless to say, getting 94 plays in, over 600 or so experience I believe... and still be able to train at normal up to the next game and still be at 100 energy. My original throw away player has become a build I'm really looking forward to develop.

Two more FOFC teams clash today as Chilton takes on Richmond. Looks pretty even on paper, except for a big edge to Richmond in the kicking game. Hopefully this won't bite the Roughnecks in the Ass.

I'm loving it too. Just a couple frustrations, like not being able to get my HB on to my team. I'm paying for a HB that isn't playing much because I didn't have a team when I created him. Now that I do, I can't get my toy to play with.

Other than that, most of the human players on my team are solid. Only one head case who keeps writing me telling me his stats & asking why he's not starting.

I actually created 4/5ths of an offensive line just to make sure my HB would have a solid team to play on. Then I thought I needed a DL, so I made a DT.
I like watching my human players actually develop, especially the non-crazy ones.

Fun so far. I'm not even blinking about the prospect of paying, what, $40 quarterly for a team & skilling up 6 players?

And I agree...1 sim every 2 days sucks. It's the proper length of time for a football sim, but I still wish they played every 24 hours.

Our kickers are good. But we just had our starting 7th lvl QB quit on us and take his 7th lvl WR and G with him. We went from a 24 overall back down to a 21. So Richmond is definitely ripe for a beatin'. I hope its a good game. Good luck to Chilton and may our rivalry grow!

I could retire him and get points back, but not the training(I think). It's be like wasting 2 weeks. Plus, you can't retire unless the team releases you. He's trapped.

I believe that is a known bug. It always says 3 when you create a new player, but there aren't actually any offers.

11 receptions for 97 yards.

4 tackles, 2 passes defended, 1 INT, though I fumbled it.

I noticed one of my "tackling" plays was on a return where I was a blocker situated the closest to our returner... I completely missed any block, and the returner fumbled.

I don't have anything into blocking, so if my position on returns can be changed that might be for the best?

I need some guinea pigs!

I don't know if any of you are familiar with Greasemonkey, but if you have it (or have Firefox and are willing to install it), I have created a hack to hide the game scores so that you can check things out a little more "real time." The code is very poor and slapped together, but it works.
  1. Install Greasemonkey (if you don't have it)
  2. Load http://idledreams.net/projects/greas...eblitz.user.js
  3. Go to your GLB home page
  4. The score of you latest game should say "Hidden Score", click on this link
  5. Here's the tricky(ish) part. Greasemonkey runs javascript once a page is loaded. So, if it loads slow enough, you'll see the score flash. You may want to look away for a few seconds until it has loaded and had time to hide the scores.
  6. You can now click on the play by play (same caveat as above). You can reveal each quarter/ot/final by clicking on their headings.

Please let me know your impressions. I obviously need to add things, such as hiding the scoring summary on box score, but this should be a quick hack to hide the score before you've seen the pbp. Please post here or PM me with any problems/suggestions/etc. I would love it if someone could IM me as they test it (AIM or gtalk with my username).

Happy hacking!

Some OL wisdom:

One of the C's on my team (MARY MARY) has been performing obnoxiously well.

Pancake totals for the three games I've owned the team for Mary: 4, 10, 16
This beast has 35 pancakes in 4 games on the season - best in my league by a massive margin and I would suspect among the best in the game.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=69609
League Leaders for West Europe AA:
Pancakes
Player Pancakes
MARY MARY 35
Tony Ramos 12
Thurmun Munson 9
Vicent Vega da Silva 8
Gabriel Placce 7
Kiante Tripp 7
Crazy Killer 6
Broon Zinger 6
Kole Epperson 6
No Name 6

Here's the interesting part...the build:
Physical Attributes Football Skills
Strength: 61 Blocking: 25.25
Speed: 8 Tackling: 11
Agility: 11 Throwing: 8
Jumping: 7 Catching: 8
Stamina: 11 Carrying: 9
Vision: 11 Kicking: 7
Confidence: 11 Punting: 8

Pass Blocking Abilities 11000
Run Blocking Abilities 11111

I have very liberal (sub-happy) substitition percentages and rotate at nearly every position...and Mary played 61 out of 80 offensive plays in the 16-pancake extravaganza. I watched the replays and on basically every play, Mary would neutralize one or two defenders. (I play Mary out of position at RG.) Their NT may as well have been the training sled.

Naturally, my entire o-line is going "strength-only" development for a while.

If I could install this at work, I'd definitely use it all of the time. As it is, I'll probably use it for at least games on days where I don't work late. The spoiling of the score is one of my biggest pet peeves with the game right now.

I created Stonewall Cruiser, a pass-blocking OT (with some run as well). I'd be interested in an offer:

I added in some code that should also hide the scoring summary, team stats, etc. I'm not sure if the play by play should go hidden except for the first play, though. Thoughts?

I'm unlikely to go step by step in the replays, as they are not very informational. I would read each line of the play-by-play, though. Hmm.. Maybe I'll do some major hacking and create something not at all solevision like, but that will slowly add each item in the pbp.

The WV Mountaineers beat the Tallahassee Thunder 87-0 in the biggest win so far during the beta. Richard Weed scored a TD!

This is what happens when teams field only 15 players.
