Seems like people say this about at least one crew every playoffs. Anyone know if any of them actually do get canned or even disciplined?

I'm as pro-Colts as they get, but that might have been the single worst referee decision I have ever seen.

What a load of shit. How you can call that a continuation of the catch when it was clear he was standing up to run with it is beyond me. that's like an OF catchin a flyball and dropping it as he transfers it to his throwing hand. That was clear as can be.

This...I don't even know how to describe it. Polamalu picks off the pass, posseses it cleanly as he hits the ground. His knees/shoulders/arms all make contact with the ground, establishing the catch. In an effort to get up, his knee knocks the ball out. The ref explains that it is not a catch because he began losing the ball while he still had not established possession. Again...what the fuck?

Im not saying it's the right call, just in the sense of controversy that it will create for years to come it's gonna be similar.

Yes. A couple did two years ago (?). Remember the Giant's field-goal fiasco?.

I've seen those called errors before. You have to at least complete the throw or have the ball for a couple of seconds. If you catch it, take it out, and drop it within a second you will quite possibly be charged with an error and that guy will be on a base.

EDIT... I have not seen the play and won't until I get home this evening. So I am not making a direct comparison. I am just saying I have seen guys take the ball out of their glove quickly in MLB and end up not getting anybody out.

It also wouldn't shock me if there was some obtusely worded rule in the rulebook that can explain that decision.

The ref choked on the call plain and simple, just like he choked on the no penalty call early.

That's what I was thinking. Before I jump on the worst call ever bandwagon, I'll wait for a possible explaination and citing of the rulebook.

Cower went to the prevent version of offense, way too early in this game.

I definitely thought that was a bad call, but wasn't it weird that the Steeler bench wasn't too incensed by the call?

The refs have electrodes hooked to their schwang's and they recieve a shock each time a viewer turns the channel away from the game.

Yes. In the first half, there was another play where it appeared Troy had a pick, but the refs ruled it incomplete, and nobody said 'boo.' Very strange.
