Unless it gets back to me very soon, I'm going to have to send Abe a very long list. I will be out all day tomorrow.

Well 3 more picks til your next one and the last pick of the draft will be yours so I am sure we can wait for you to make that last pick when you get back. In others words a list of 5 should be fine. |

Okay, I sent in my list of picks to Abe. If it gets back to me by 9am, then I'll make my next two picks then. If not, I guess they won't get made until Abe is back on at 6p-7p.
I won't be back until midnight.

Alright, my list is in. If everything on it gets picked before my final pick, then say a few of Jedi's "SHIT F(&*^* DAMN CRAP!!!!!" for me and I'll pick when I get back at midnight.

OK, I did a google search and saw nothing about there being a movie. I don't really know anything about the series thought so if there are specific books or whatever please call me out on it and I will change my pick. |

Good choice. It was on my list except that for all the hand wringing around here about in development and such, I thought that it being made into a TV series might downgrade it to some people.

Sorry I've been away. I have a really bad eye/face infection that has taken me out all weekend. All I need are IPs so I'll try and put one up. If you guys need to skip me feel free because I'm pretty definite the things I'm considering won't be picked by anyone else.

Since CF said to skip and since I don't need IPs...
I'm all the way in with the action themed roster so... 13.8 : Milla Jovovich, Supporting Actress

As someone who has watched the drat unfold, I have just checked, and seen that everyone has their two producers slots filled, so I have a couple of producer comments.
In the past decade, there have been two major trends in American films that have altered the landscape and will continue to impact the future. One is that fantasy films are no longer a cult genre with pics like Conan and Dragonslayer, and have moved into the mainstream with film series like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. This wasa acknowledged by producer Peter Jackson getting picked up, and his LotR plus King Kong and District 9 give him around 3.75 billion in gross for his films in this decade, and that's a lot. However, I thought he was picked way too early for two reasons. First of all, he is just one half of the fantasy trend, and the lesser half, and secondly, because there is another trend with more movies to grab. The other half is the 5.5 billion grossing Harry Potter franchise, with another movie in it, and all produced by David Heyman, who got drafted....not at all. he got more traction with Harry Potter and there is no question that more familiar friendly fantasy fare followed in droves due to its success. Heyman is a much better money maker, has more films in him, and appears to have influenced more movies, than a certain Jackson. Then there is the other trend - the sheer financial success of comics movies, specifically the marvel properties. iron Man, both Hulks, the X Men triology, the Spider Man trilogy, Daredevil, Punishers, both Fantastic Fours, and more. The marvel properties became very very hot, and the occasional success of super hero films like Superman and Batman from previous decades was concentrated and exploded. Who was the producer of all of these films? Avi Arad. (Also the producer of the Blade trilogy). His movies make a ton of money, and unlike some (Jackson, Cameron, he had made a metric ton of movies, and they all make money. Let me grab my calculator. Avi Arad's movies made: 6 billion, 634 million at the box office alone, and that does not include toys, DVDs, pay per view, etc. That's a ton of money in 20 movies, across one decade (12 years if you go back to Blade). So to my mind, Avi Arad is much much successful as a producer than just about anyone else. He is solely responsible for one of the two major trends in the past decade, and made a ton of money and made a ton of good movies. Only one movie (Punisher: War Journal) made less than it cost to make. So, Avi Arad was, to my mind, an obvious pick in this draft, and I'm surprrsed he didn;t make it. Now, Heyman was a good pick too, and he didn't get picked up, probably because his only major works are this one franchise, but Jackson, minus Lord of the Rings, would not be picked up either. Just my quick comments on the producer thing, because I've been watching the entire draft and seeing the lists sent in and so forth, and I think Arad's missing name was a big miss.

I may just be speaking for myself here, but Producer is probably the category I will pay least attention to when voting. Too much of what they do is not seen directly by the moviegoer.

I considered Arad, but felt he was too limited to a specific type of movie. I'll get my pick in shortly since I'm saving my IP for the last round.
