Brian, it said we had to "reshuffle" the letters. I initially started by just adding letters and taking them out as well...but the reshuffle got me.

I think 9 goes in the first group...but I'll have to call my resident math-man to confirm it.

To clarify, this is not a sticking point. "Reshuffling" is optional since it is unclear whether you are adding the letters at the end or beginning or somewhere in the middle anway. |

Agreed. We're spelling Q-W-E-R-T-Y, here, as in the letters on a keyboard.

Gang, any ideas on what we're supposed to do here? I'm thinking we need a new word for all 8 sets.

My first thought was to take the capital letters that start each word and see if they form a more familiar acronym. 1. PCC 2. SCL 3. LSP 4. BCS 5. PPP 6. CWD 7. STS 8. DCG Do these acronyms have meaning to anyone? |

Clap, the answer is the last digit in numbers that can be squared. Any number that ends in 5, when squared, ends in 5.
5*5 =25 15 * 15 = 225 etc, etc Carry on, Poli. I don't know if that is the right pattern for this question but your answer holds up as far as I can tell. |

There was an exemption in play during this mission. It was based on Brainteaser #4 (4 letters in the word MOLE). The first player to suggest the correct answer to problem 5 in that brainteaser (E for exemption is the 5th letter of the alphabet) would be offered an exemption.
That player was BrianD. I contacted BrianD by PM and offered him the exemption. All he had to do was sabotage a brainteaser. He did this by answering incorrectly and replying to my PM telling me he accepted the exemption. Of course, sabotaging a brainteaser is a great move for the mole, too, and doing it under cover of earning an exemption is a great excuse. Something to think about. At any rate, BrianD's incorrect answer for #6 has cost the team an opportunity at $7500. Updated pot totals will be coming up along with information about our second quiz and execution. BrianD will not be eligible for execution during this quiz since he has an exemption. Last edited by MJ4H : 10-06-2009 at 06:20 PM. |
