Very happy as Bears fan about the recent trade with the Chargers. GM Jerry Angelo has proven himself to be able to take unknowns later in the draft and have faith in his coaches to develop them. All these new picks should help build some depth.

So John Beck is the future (present?) QB of the Dolphins?

I don't get the love for Beck. Maybe he'll be good, but I don't see it.

Listening to the Dolphins Brass talking about how they've known Ginn for 10 years and it was a quality family didn't seem to instill confidence in their fans. Listening to him extolling his value as a punt returner instead of a receiver was almost comical.

Honestly, I'd rather have Ginn/Jarrett over Ginn/Beck. I think Jarrett is going to be a great receiver so we've have at least somebody who could catch the god damn football.
Not fucking Desmond Howard 2K7 and Chris Weinke 2.0.

Wow. Drew Stanton.
Looks like the Lions defense will continue to suffer.

My money would be on the city Philadelphia burning tonight.
1) They trade their 1st round pick to the Dallas Cowboys! 2) They then make a huge stretch in drafting QB Kolb. I am not sure how they will be able to put a positive spin on these 2 mistakes for their fans.

I'm very happy with Willis at 11. I like Staley a lot and wouldn't be surprised if he ended up being the best OT out of this draft down the road. He'll need to be close to that to warrant the price paid. Really interested to see what we got back from Indy for trading out of the 42nd overall spot. A part of me is hoping it's a major deal, since presumably this was the pick they didn't want to give up in the Staley trade.

I think Martz could possibly develop either, but I really think Beck would've been a better fit in his offense than Drew Stanton.

Agreed. In the FOFC Mock Draft thread, I made clear how much I really liked Willis. While I'm not thrilled with giving up next year's first, I had Staley in the top 20 and he has great speed and quickness. Really liking the draft so far, though I was hoping the 49er's would stay in the 2nd round and take Jarrett. Then, it would've been a near great draft. |

Any thoughts on best/worst draft so far?
Best: Leaning toward 49ers. Worst: Dolphins...no question. |

The 49ers got the Colts' 4th rounder this year and first rounder in 2008 for the #42 pick.

Panthers got a frigging steal in getting Jarrett at 2.13 in my opinion. I really think he's going to be a great WR.
And he could be wearing Dolphins aqua and orange if it weren't for those fucking asshats Mueller and Cameron

Is 2008 supposed to be that weak a draft class that everyone and their mother is trading away their first round pick next year?

Great second pick for the Steelers in the second. They have their OLBs set for the next 5-7 years.

That's exactly what I was hoping for. The 4th replaces what should be traded for Jackson, and giving us a late 1st next year helps balance out losing ours. Now I'm thrilled with the Staley pick. |

Somebody talked earlier about Favre retiring today. How about Jason Taylor? Zach Thomas? They definitely derserved better than this.

Harris was someone I wish Detroit got. Seeing him play the last four years, he is just a football player. Can't go wrong with those.
