Tactic for me for this round is to ensure that we gain a 'safe' square - chances are we'll lose our homebase either this round or next again, this will put us in a safe situation again by limiting the attackers which can hit us for a short-time.

Where possible we need to try and get to a position where our old homebase acts as a buffer and we can expand by NOT taking it back - this way we can creep across the board only being attacked by a limited amount of people.

If we continually 'swamp' the board by regaining our homebase then eventually enough months will be able to hit us at once that we might not get enough intertia to take a square leaving us homeless and ending the potential for a yearly Utopia of Oct 2000 ...

(Just my opinion - feel free to ignore my ramblings, my wife normally does

)

I think the next game would be really fun if all of the Oct 2000 folks played mercs, so instead of dominating the game, we could create some very interesting situations instead!

If that happened we'd just attack some random piddly square with no defense, take it over, and be in the same position quickly.
