"Having him back is good for the Conference. I love and respect CMR as much as anyone on here, but hearing an interview with him isn't exactly a compelling experience. On the other hand, any time we hear that Spurrier is going to be on some podunk local radio station out in the boonies for 30 seconds, we try to find an internet link to listen to him! I wouldn't want him representing me or or UGA in any way, shape, or form, but I'll bet he'd be fun to hang out with. He's like that guy you knew in high school or college who was a hoot to be around, but you'd never, ever, ever want him dating your sister." In short, as Supreme Potentate at UGA, there is NO ONE I'd rather see at Florida than Hell Atlantic.

Technically it's Vince since he is the 1st alt. for any open Pac-10 team. If he chooses to default them to me I'd be truley indebted to him. But I'm ready for them if needed. |

On further review, HA would be the best way to put the Spurrier back into Florida. And he's sure to drive the program into the ground, so that just makes it better still. |

Honestly, I was pretty much oblivious to the game until the announcement last week. I'm not as big a text-simmer as the general population here. I'm more of a console player who plays FOF multiplayer and likes this community. I'd never even looked at this thread until sometime last week. You snooz, you looz, dudz. As for the taking over another team, I've been tempted. But honestly, I'm already in one too many multiplayer leagues (2 FOF leagues). Basically, the temptation of using IU would be enough to overcome my worries about not having enough time to really dedicate to the team. There aren't any teams left that I have any attachment to - Buffalo might be cool because I could recruit guys out of my high school, but outside of that, no compelling reason to want one team over another.
And by the way, this is in no way an attempt to get cody to give up Indiana. Last edited by Kodos : 12-12-2005 at 09:45 AM. |

Even if it were an attempt to get cody to give them up, that'd be cool. We don't need no Indiana in the Top 15. Having Kodos coach them would be fine.

Updated teams list (including OPEN teams - note that I did not switch Suicane because he didn't post it himself. Is he in the box?):

Suicane is banned. I trust sov, but maybe it's a good idea to wait until cartman gets the new board running, so he can post about it himself. I sent a PM to Comey, asking him to show up and let us know if he still wants to take over at Penn State.
This brings up an interesting point -- how do we know who is who on the new forum? Say HA showed up, but made his login larrymcg421. Okay, we'd probably all figure out it was actually HA once he started making an ass out of himself, but with all the hubbub around here about who gets what team, you never know. I don't see how leveling the prestige would even work.
The top schools would still have rosters full of blue chippers, alumni money rolling in, and coaching staffs twice as good as the bottom feeders. Even without the prestige advantage, they are almost guaranteed winning records and the recruiting advantage. In a couple of years they will be right back to where they are now. Just my $.02 |

What kind of roster set will this league be using?
Has anyone heard if there is going to be a real player set? |

cartman can create the user accts for us on his message board, then PM us with our login id/password. it's a lot of work, but that's a realistic solution. i don't think anyone would want to actually login as myself anyway, no one wants to be a villain. i got some big shoes to fill. he can also make it that if you get caught logging in as someone else to take their team you get banned from the league and you lose your claim to the team you did have. |

Too many players and probably not acurate info to rate the not top 100 players.

gotcha. it took a while for me to make my BBCF logo pack, so i totally understand what a mammoth (and unnecessary?) undertaking it'd be for real rosters.

Call me crazy, but I wouldn't mind see USC and Texas go at it in a Playoff system.
After reading a post at how unfair the starting rosters were going to be for small teams in this league it got me to wondering what kind of roster startup set we would be using. |

My lastest single player league sees Maryland win the title in year 1 after pasting Florida State by 41 and Miami 51-3. They defeat Auburn in the national title game 14-3.

I guess what I was trying to prove with that last post is that there is enough randomness at the start that I don't think random prestige is really needed. I've seen a year 1 where Vanderbilt had the best QB in the country rated 98 and he went on to win the heisman. I've seen situations where some of the best QB's in the nation are from little schools.
I didn't really look at alot of teams in my latest year 1, but from what I saw Miami was blessed with a horrible QB situation. Their best QB was 62/65 Jr. Florida State was blessed with only 1 "blue" rated defender at CB, and he got hurt early. The next best was 1 "green" rated OLB and the rest was made of "average" yellow players. While Maryland, a team that you wouldn't expect it from was just flat out stacked. Their QB was 82/82, RB 89/93 Jr. The WR's were both "green" rated. And on defense they were stacked with top rated blue players @ DT, ILB, OLB, CB, FS, SS. Yes, the top teams are going to get good players at the start everytime, there is no guarentee that Miami is going to get the players to go 13-0, or the players to struggle at 6-5, b/c I've seen both at startup.

Hello all,
The forum is up at http://www.fofc-bbcf.com/phpbb2. Here is how the registration will work: 1. Head on over and create your account 2. After you do, send me a PM on this board 3. I will activate your account at the new site, and I will reply to the PM that your account is active. I don't have any HTML up yet, so the forum is the only thing that exists right now.

Is it possible to just sim 5 years and start from there? The only people I could see opposed to it are Coaches of teams that are good and have no ties to. This way it's kinda randomized but still has a history

I don't want to see 5 years. But I wouldn't mind simming the first season to start with the coach hiring phase. I'm sure lots of us want to implement a certain system.

seriosuly, cartman, you're an asshole. i registered Hell Atlantic and Dean Houston - what's the big deal if you activate both? why can't you activate the Dean Houston acct also? there's no logic in this. it's a fucking online sim league, not The Skulls. i wish you'd consume alcohol and pills.

i dont think we should sim anything, but i do think we should get the initial file out asap, just so we can get familiar with our rosters. don't sim anything until this injury situation and the 4th down bugs are sorted out

how is letting someone register a 2nd acct of a well known FOF celebrity, and let's be honest - a legend - considered doing someone a "favor"? Dean makes an appearance every now and then. methinks someone is taking the "commish" title a wee bit too seriously. this shit is for fun. |
