I think there is value in leaving Hoops in the hopper for tomorrow and taking another seer scan tonight.

In many games, the BG gets a kill or a stop or knowledge of the attacker when someone does it. How do you determine which wolf gets killed/revealed/hurt/etc? You force the wolves to choose one of their number to take the action. This is a very common mechanic. I think every time I've been a wolf this has been required, and every GM I've done the same except in the small games I did. It is very simple, clean, elegant, and useful, and I could easily see it being in a game, even one with albeit a simple rules set. So, just in case it is, I'd say we should kill kill kill, take the Brutal hit now, if any, and then keep searching.

So it's like what we had in N1.
I typed out a long explanation on why it's still better to keep the seer alive, since relying on the BG depends on Danny's previous and future actions. But I decided not to give the wolvies too many ideas. |

Look there is still value in getting another seer view. I think that is smart thinking. Not so sure about the BG getting killed in a simple rule set. Maybe and I guess that is something to think about. Many a simple game just allows the BG to stop an attack without knowledge of who the attacker is and no chance of BG dealth. It has been a while since I played, so maybe simple nowadays includes these chances.
I guess you cannot go wrong taking the wolf lynch now. I can understand everyone's apprehension of Jeff's plan. |

It's too late to sway people to the correct choice. I needed at least a single backer for people to follow.
But you can go wrong by lynching a wolf now cause you lose a seer while gaining nothing. That is going wrong . |

I completely understand, Jeff. I would love to be participating in this discussion in a manner where my opinion held some weight, but that probably is not possible given the circumstances.
Good luck with your decisions going forward. |

Good job not going for the nightfall, hoopsguy knew I wasn't going to be online to put in a protect so he wanted to hurry to night fall.

I wound't be convinced Hoops is the brutal. He was clearing pushing nightfall so that I would not be able to see what happened and protect accordingly.

BTW, everyone should ignore everything Hoops says at this point. Don't let it effect your thought process at all. As I am reading what I missed, I am skipping his posts.

I think Hoopsguy is noet th brutal wolf, here is my reasoning. If he is brutal wolf, nightfall has no advantage. He simply kills me and then they kill seer with the night kill. If he is not the brutal wolf, nightfall has the advantage that he knows that I am not going to be online to change my guard order and they kill the seer.

Vote Hoopsguy
For the reasoning I laid out, I'd bet he is not the brutal wolf. RPI is probably the Janitor. I think what he did is too risky for a wolf. |

As we approach deadline, I have a few thoughts and a trust list.
First, I would not rule out Jeheinz as a wolf. RPI's reveal of a role could have been a signal to someone he knew was a wolf to let them know who he was. No way a BG or Seer says a word to their roommates about having a role and if Jeheinz was a wolf, he probably would have picked up on the hint. We've also seen that the wolves are not afraid to put votes on other wolves. Definitely trust Myself Jackal Barkeep Lean towards trusting Jeff Could go either way Chief Rum Abe Telle DaddyTorgo Am leery towards Jeheinz Hannibal Gram Don't trust RPI Fan Hoopsguy |

Hmmm, knowing he will be the last remaining wolf and likely won't be scanned in the next couple days before the seer gets killed, hoping he gains enough trust to go the distance? It was looking like once the seer and I are gone that he would probably #1 on the trust list. |

Some math on the Jeheinz front. Right now there are 13 players left. After tonight there may be only 10 if Hoops is the brutal. Tomorrow the group lynches RPI and they night kill Barkeep. At that point there are 8 players left and Jeheinz would probably have been the most trusted. He's a good enough player, I could see him going the distance at that point.
Also, In my PM's with EF, he mentioned Jeheinz' name more than anyone else and even told me he was planning on scanning him before I came out to everyone as the BG. Again, I am not saying he is the final wolf, but since I may not be alive much longer, I wanted to make sure you guys keep this in mind. |

You all wake up the next morning and make your way down to the quad where you notice Jackal is missing!!
A quick search of his room show bloody sheets and a paw print on the window sill. Jackal was the maitnence man! Last edited by Lathum : 01-12-2009 at 10:25 PM. |

I'm guessing Jackal thought the real seer would counter reveal and possible give Hoopsguy some more trust by pinning him.

That's true, it may have been a mistake in the role he had listed. If he is the seer, sorry guys. I thought for sure I was going to be attacked tonight. That was ballsy to still go after Jackal, so props for that. Of course, having the guts to do that doesn't make me feel any better about Jeheinz. |

no way. no way you fake reveal and give up an actual wolf when you've already lost one so early.

It was probably a typo. If so, I think we have to go for RPI or Jeheinz now with the next two nights. I can't imagine the wolves going after Jackal unless his roommate was making the kill.

I can't figure out the thinking, he was going to be found out in short order no matter what. Maybe he was trying to gain trust by selling out Hoops. But then he protected Barkeep. I'm looking very strongly at Barkeep now, hist first innocent scan.

Theoretically if it worked out perfectly it might have worked. If the real seer counter revealed, the matchup would likely then be between Jackal and the real seer and Hoops would not have been killed. Jackyl had to know Hoopsguy would be a scan at some point. Then once Jackyl was killed perhaps Hoopsguy gained trust and the seer would have been outed. |

True. That's pretty risky though.
I'm 50/50 between Barkeep and Heinz right now. Lot of chatting and strange stuff going on with Jackal in that dorm, mostly with heinz. And once again, the confirm clearance of BK. Which could have been another trust move. Finally some real meat to sink our teeth into tomorrow! So to speak |
