And free agent human players may now hold out for maximum contracts and a starting job, since almost everyone wants to start.

I could also be very wrong about this. The desire to get your newly created level one player onto a team, might meant that a team owner will be the one getting to pick from amongst many players. However, this will probably happen at the positions with many human players. For example, I doubt any team owner has a problem getting a human to start at QB for them. Getting a backup QB might however be a problem, since I know for me it is no fun watching my created QB sit as a backup and never play a single snap.

Not really sure what is needed. I can't access the site from work. The name of the team is Grand Junction Silverbacks. My HB is BB Blanks.

Interesting developments at Calgary.

Super emphasis on stamina training and buying stamina gear. We're playing with a pared down roster to allow for more playing time...some of us will be playing offense and defense.

I like it.

This team is owned by a beta tester. The GM has two teams and appears to be using this one as a farm club.

Yeah from what I've seen, stamina is a critical stat that was overlooked by a lot of people at the start, so they're crash-training to get it up to a decent level.

I think most of us have thrown a point or two there...but yeah, they're advocating a mass dumpage on stamina.

As a WR, I just found out I'm the backup MLB. I didn't realize this was Arena Football!

While we get ready for the next game, here's a pretty cool play that my DE made for the Silverbacks. Watch him chase down this WR and prevent the TD....

I only made a few changes for today's game against the Atoms. They're not good defending the run and i'd like to establish a bit of a ground attack, so I upped the percentage there a little more. Everything else is pretty much the same. Hopefully we can pull this one off.

Well, we did run with some effectiveness. I'd like to keep that up, and maybe transfer some more carries over to Thunder. Now that McManus has leveled up a bit, I think it's safe to go down the field a bit more in the passing game to get the receivers more involved.

It was a good defensive effort at least, and we can only get better.

It's only the first season. Honestly, while guys are training up and learning the game, it's not a big deal to lose a few.

Yeah, but I was hoping we could sneak into the playoffs which would give us at least an extra game of experience.

What happens during the off-season? Do we train/level up, or are we in limbo until the next season starts?

Look at Johnny take it right up the gut

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=628597

First INT: McManus picked while trying to get it to Tank. Frustrating to see BB all alone in the flat. Maybe some improved vision is needed?

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=628605

Sabotai makes a good play to fight off a block and stop the RB. The question is why was he lined up there in the first place and what is Milan Dom doing?

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=628653

Fingers O'Neill misplays the punt and then fumbles it (after being hit by Steve Urkel)

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=628685

Looks like there's a hole, but De La Rosa says otherwise

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=628700

Great lead blocking by Tank on this play. Johnny does everything he can to run into the DE, but still manages a 9 yard gain.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=628728

BB Blanks makes a bid for more playing time with this nice looking run where he finds the hole right away and follows Tank.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=628740

One of our best pass plays of the day. Donovan makes a nice move on the CB to get open for a 20 yard completion.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=628747

Not sure what Slats is doing here, but he's certainly not trying to lead block for Johnny

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=628765

McManus misses a wide open Dunham in what surely would have been a TD

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=628799

Look at Crim flying in there to make the special teams tackle

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=628820

More coming....

You gain XP even when you don't play, so I assume the same thing would happen during the offseason. You just won't get nearly as much.

I've got a newly created level 4 receiving TE that I think could be a great addition to the passing game of some team. Let me know if any FOFC teams are interested (though this didn't work last time with some of my other guys!)

I can use you and already have another FOFCer, Subby as LB. The problem is that i have already 2 lvl4 TE's so you would compete with them for the starting job. The good news is that both have low stamina so even the 3rd TE, a CPU one, is getting as much plays per game as both humans.

Yessir, that's RT Funyun Johnson tying up said DE so badly that I think Johnny grabbed the guy's wallet as he slid by.

Johnny also gained a level and added a little speed to the strength. I have his speed, strength and agility over 20. Working on stamina, carrying and catching.

Ok, as everybody is pimping their best plays, here is one from one of my 9 characters, a WR that plays for an USA PRO level team. This is my first game for them, as 4th WR and i scored a nice TD! They will promote me to 3rd string after this

I think speed and more speed is a very good idea. Seems like in quite a few of the clips I have seen, there is a definitely a gap in the defensive backfield for a while, and with a bit more speed you could definitely break away.

Nice to see my FB getting a few more nice blocks, though we lost again. Are we just playing teams with higher level players, or is there something we as the players are doing wrong?

WR Rick Silver (Lvl 4) is looking for a home. My LB is on larry's team, so if any of the other FOFC owned teams is looking for a speedy deep threat WR, I have one. I don't mind if I have to sit on the bench.

I really hope the game doesn't go in this direction. If there's no penalty for out of position and you can play both sides to level quicker it will really lessen my enjoyment. No way a WR should be able to play well as a MLB or vice versa.

Fielding a team of 11 super stamina guys set to level as quickly as possible is a huge exploit IMO.

The FAQ says you get a severe penalty by doing that, but it doesn't mention XP.

My guy, Colin Rhys after my son, is a lvl 4 LB. Seems I landed on a good team with an owner that's serious about building a winner. I'll invest a little money in this after I see how it goes a couple of weeks!

I sent you an offer from the Richmond Razorbacks. We just had our top two WRs leave the team. I promoted 3rd to first and hired a 2nd, so you could be 3rd WR. Plenty of PT.

Hey guys, I know we have a variety of FOFCers on our teams and such.

I am deep at human owned players in LB and FS and shallow at the DL position, I am willing to trade for that position. Especially if they are FOFCers (Gotta keep it in the family).

I am Victoria Admirals in the Canadian Pro League

I'm still in the thick of wheeling and dealing because of a team shake-up. I may have to rescind my offer.. I don't have the depth at DT anymore.

I sure liked LB Houston Dicks, but you can't be looking to trade him. Beastly!

Dicks is our main man on defense, followed by Vest running the middle. Our LB corp is deep and tough, it's why I can part with some of our backups. But I do understand.

Changes to the game coming, from a dev post:

Player Retirement: Players play for 10 full seasons before their skills start to decline faster than they can train. The 10th Season is a "Plateau Season" where you gain no experience and cannot boost. Players can play the 11th Season and on, but their skills will be declining the longer you that you play.

When a player retires you get the initial player creation cost (100-400 FP) back and 70% of any FP you spent on that players boosting and/or custom equipment. You can use this FP to start a new player or buy/renew a team. Yes, you will be able to renew a team for 400 FP a year before you lose it.

This game is going to be as fair and as realistic as we can make a game like this. Player's can't play forever, that's football. We will have a Hall of Fame and Record books so your greatest player can go down in GLB's annuls for all the world to know that your player is the best.

Injuries: Their will be injuries, but not injuries that make your player to miss a game. Just some injuries where your player might have some games that they play at reduced capacity (like 5%-50% off of some or all your normal abilities for example).

USA League Restructuring: Big changes that we think will be great for everyone.

There will be 32 TOTAL LEAGUES in the USA.

31 USA "Pro" Leagues, 1 USA "Champion" League

Each team that wins their league championship gets to play in the USA Pro League (31 teams). The yearly winner of the USA "Champion" League gets to stay in the USA "Champion" league, the rest go back down and are placed randomly back into a USA "Pro" League.

There will eventually be leagues below each "Pro" league for lower level teams and players. Teams will get demoted/promoted between these leagues.

Champion > Pro > AAA > AA > A

Champion has 32 teams, but 1 league
Pro has 32 teams, but 31 leagues
AAA has 32 teams, but 31 leauges
AA has 32 teams, but 31 leauges
A has 32 teams, but 31 leauges

Note: AAA, AA, A are just for example...they will have different names.

NON-USA League Restructuring: Will be the same as above.

Restructuring Clarification:

There are 31 "Pro" level leagues. These would each have AAA, AA, A underneath them that would have to work their way up.

There is 1 "Champion" level league above the "Pro" leagues that's for the elite winners of the 31 pro leagues to battle it out for supremacy. Those that don't win get bumped back down to regular "Pro."

It's sort of a combination of the current system and the big tournament idea, without the extra time required for the tourney where other teams don't get to do anything.

Seems better than having to win 20 seasons in a row to make it from ZZZ to Pro, to me.

---

The current Pro league would be next season's "Champion" league. All the current AAA, AA, A, etc leagues would be converted to the "Pro" leagues, and given a cash infusion to go with it. Then we would add the rest of the leagues along side them. We'll come up with various names for them to make them sound fun and cool (no more A, AA, AAA, etc.

Tactics: We are working on improving the tactics to be more in-depth...things like formations, position-based stamina substitutions, what to do on 4th, when to kick a punt, etc. This will take a little while to finish as it is a large update. Hopefully we can get it live early in the next season.

Search: We added a Basic Forum search feature.

Bort and I are working VERY, VERY hard everyday to make this game as good as it can possibly be. We are both very happy to have so many players enjoying the game, the growth has been remarkable. Thank you for your ideas and suggestions, we appreciate them and try to adapt what we think helps the game the most...thank you for your patience when we have growing pains, things just pop up sometimes and we appreciate your patience.

Things will only be getting better from here on out. We are 35,000 already users strong.

Some really good stuff in there, ESPECIALLY the position based stamina substitutions.

The retirement structure is extremely fair. I love that you'll get some of your boost points back for your new player.
