Good lord.
3 minutes left on a PP to kill in overtime. Unreal that Drury gets a 4 minute high sticking call with a minute left after he had his face slashed open earlier and the refs missed it. |

With 4 guys on the ice it really baffles me how a high stick that draws blood goes uncalled.

It sucks that the Rangers lost, but I'm now looking forward to next year when I can have a favorite team to follow through the offseason and all throughout the year.
Lets go Rangers!

That was a huge hit by Morrow to end the 3rd period and Nabokov with a great save in OT.

Agreed. That's one of the best saves I've ever seen.

Crazy OT period - Mike Ribero had better pray the Stars win this series, otherwise he might not be welcome back in Dallas again. Hard to get two better chances to end the series.

Does Ribero have money on the Sharks winning the cup or something?

This game is rediculous. Is there a certain point that it will go to a shootout, or will they just keep going with OT's?

Keep going with 20 minute OTs until someone scores.

Wow, I want it to keep going and end at the same time. I have to go to bed. And I'm on the West Coast! I can only imagine what Stars fans in Texas are dealing with.

Tough break for the Sharks. Pretty solid penalty call, but still a heartbreaking way to lose it.

I feel cheated. I just watched the greatest hockey game I've ever seen, and it had to end horribly. Not that it was a bad penalty call...but for it to end on a power play goal is just brutal.

Damn. Nabby played one hell of a game and so did Turco for that matter.
Another under achieving season for the Sharks. I wonder who will be our coach next season because no way it will be Ron Wilson.

Yup. Wilson has to be gone after this season. I've never minded Wilson all that much, and I don't know enough about hockey to critique him, but all the talent that's on this team should not be making a habit of second-round demises.

Oh so that's why Marty Lapointe was taking a bunch of stupid penalties in the Ottawa series - warm up.

You are not going to convince a Pens fan that Crosby dives just the same way that you won't convince a Flyer fan that Crosby doesn't dive. Just save yourselves the headache.

Just saw the schedule is out, Friday/Sunday start for Pens-Flyers. A little bit of a layoff there, I was guessing Thurs/Sat start, giving HNIC the Pens for Saturday night.
If Biron plays as he did last series, the Flyers can absolutely take this series.

Ironically enough, there was also another epic overtime game on May4th of 2000. I'll let Suburban fill ya'll in on the details.

Turco and Nabokov were amazing in the overtimes last night. I didn't start watching the game until right before San Jose tied it in the 3rd, but I didn't take my eyes off the game after that. I'm working on about 4 hours of sleep right now. I was really impressed with the San Jose defensemen. They did a really nice job of holding pucks in the offensive zone and making the Stars work around bad angles in the defensive zone. I don't know the West that well, but I was under the impression that most (if not all) of the San Jose defense is young, but they showed a lot of poise last night. At least they can be proud of that.
Do the Stars have anything left in the tank to hang with Detroit? Personally, I don't think so.
