the ripping and the tearing etc
My favorite person at work (the same woman who started a thread about my underwear) asked me what luxury I would indulge in if my finances were abundant. I told her that I would travel around the country and bowl in professional tournaments. What I wanted to tell her was that I would indulge in an overflowing collection of white bitches. The only reason I didn't say that was because I think she would've volunteered to be #1, and that would just be awkward at the workplace.

The lead engineer on my program (I report directly to him as the bus lead) told me yesterday that he plans on traveling to the launch site to support the launch campaign. I'm kinda bummed about this, as I was hoping to go. Granted, I'll get more chances to go on future programs, but I feel like on my last two programs I was kind of gypped on not getting to go.
Oh well, at least when I'm in the mission ops center I'll be the one to give the final "GO" for launch, something else I've missed out on despite being the lead engineer for ops for 3 previous spacecrafts. /tk

I just found out that one of my cousin's ex-husband was just arrested for car jacking and attempted murder. Apparently he waited until some guy got out of his car and left it running. So my cousin's ex-husband got in the car to steal it and found there was a passenger in it. He started to drive, told the passenger to get out, the passenger refused, so the guy pulled a kitchen knife out and started to stab the passenger in the face until the dude rolled out of the moving car.
I only met the guy once before. They were only married for less than a year. Still it's crazy.

My sister has a kid by a dude that stole her car, got into a high speed chase with the cops, crashed, opened fire on the cops and was shot ~20 times by the cops.

I absolutely love football, but in a way, it's nice to have full weekends back. During football season, I make no plans to do anything except watch football on Sundays. It'll be nice to be able to do something different on Sundays after next weekend.
At least for awhile, until I start to get really anxious to watch me some football again. |

I regret that I never went to the Big XII tourney in KC. I'm strongly considering the Big 10 tourney this year. Like Thursday or Friday night- one of the opening sessions. SI

Shaun White is insane. He'd already locked up the Gold Medal in Superpipe at X Games and threw down a perfect 100 on his final run just for fun. Backside 1260 to Frontside 1260 combo to finish it off.

When did it become completely acceptable for delivery drivers to just dump shit at your front door and drive off without even attempting to deliver it? I'm pretty sure it never used to be this bad, I don't know if it's the delivery companies trying to cut corners, the shippers trying to save money or what is going on but it's fucking ridiculous. What exactly are you paying for that USPS wouldn't do for free?
Had a hilarious time a few months back where they were delivering an iPhone to the wrong address and even though after four hours on the phone and a day off work they promised me the delivery driver knew it was the wrong address and would bring it back to the depot, he just dumped it outside the wrong address and took off. This time, a bunch of clothes my wife ordered was "left at my front door" and there is supposedly a signature, but the package is nowhere to be seen. If I'm not home, just take it back to the god damn warehouse. I'm perfectly happy to drive and pick it up. Fuck. |

I can't wait to live alone. There's nothing better to follow a late Sunday (?!?) night keeping a blacked-out roommate from sexually assaulting his female friend than spending the next night (a Monday?!?) making sure that a blacked-out roommate and her boyfriend don't physically assault each other.

I hate that too. I've had times where I'm literally ten feet from the front door and had no clue a package was dropped off. It can't take that much time to just ring the doorbell. I guess it's because they don't want to have to interact with people because it slows them down. I don't see why they can't drop off the package, ring the doorbell and then take off for their truck before anyone can get to the door to hassle them. |

I'd say my guy knocks about 75% of the time from UPS. But I do recall taking a nap on the couch and not hearing a knock(and a subsequent puppy overreaction). Nothing like tracking the package and seeing it is already delivered.

Im pretty sure that's the opposite reaction of most people. Plus, at least if IIRC, it's actually the shipper's choice whether it's left or goes back for another try later.

Yea, I've even had it where I wanted to pick up a package but UPS refused. They would only do it if the person doing the shipping requested it. I remember being both surprised and kind of annoyed. I mean, as long as I flash my drivers license what's the harm? What am I missing?

I thought the only time they delivered it by knocking on the door was when it required a signature. Always been that way.

Not always. At the risk of sounding like Bucc, Jr, I can remember when they always knocked & sometimes shot the breeze for a minute or two. And no, I don't think it was so they could give their horse a minute to rest.

I've never had that experience. But maybe it's because I was too busy fucking the milk man so the UPS guy just left.
