I like the Davidson pick to Golden State. Tremendous athlete. If he gets his act together, he can be a nice pickup for them. And behind Wright, he won't have to worry about pressure to be the next Troy Murphy.

lol...I said if Kupchak picked a foreigner, he would need protection from Kobe. Here's an alert for Kupchak's bodyguards.

Love the Tucker pick - a wing that can defend. Exactly what Phoenix needs off the bench.

As to Phoenix being "cheap", this will be the third straight season that they are in the top 5 in payroll in the NBA. For some reason, Phoenix doesn't think a lot of guys in the 20-30 range can help them now. But, the $11+ million they've made from selling picks has allowed them to keep guys like Kurt Thomas and extend Barbosa and Amare.

It just makes watching draft day a bit of a downer for Suns fans...

What a stupid trade for the Bobcats. But hey....at least we'll get to see those cool t-shirts that the fans wear when the team wins.

Why deal for a 7th year player? It's not going to make them better.

Damn, Byars off the board.

Franchise, Roy, Frye, Oden, Byars, McRoberts, Aldridge, Jack...you know, this is going to be one heck of a fun team to watch. And you know what? That might be a playoff team if they gel quickly, and can get by likely defensive issues.

I mean, not Byars, but the winger! Umm...first bad move by Portland in two years, IMO.

Good move by the Sixers; although they still seem to want to load up on swingmen.

That Bobcats trade makes me sick. Morrison last year and now this? MJ has got to go.

Gray would be a good complementary player to Young. He's the sort of shotblocker in the middle that would allow Young to play closer on more athletic quick twos.

Actually, am I missing someone? Who is the three? And no one better say Darius Miles.

I suppose Roy could slide over in a small lineup, but a Jack-Francis-Roy perimeter might be the shortest perimeter group in NBA history.

None of Aldridge, McRoberts or Frye are good fits at the 3.

Think McMillan will entice...Rashard Lewis to come down the 5?

Instead of the well known and well regarded two-time national champion point guard and highest remaining prospect on Yahoo's list Taurean Green, the Clippers select...this guy...

It's like Herman and Eddie Munster had a kid. At least his name is Jordan.

Bold prediction. Aaron Gray will be a Bull at least as long as Noah. Very nice makeup pick late in the second round.

I also looked at the Blazers roster to answer my question about their SF. I guess it will be Outlaw or Webster. I still think they should make a run at Lewis.

Are they fast enough to stay with Parker and Manu? That might have been the reason the Suns picked those two.

The last thing I expected out of this draft.. is what I got. I'm flabbergasted. We still have Ratliff's contract to trade (or use next year), got rid of Wally who's almost injured as much as Ratliff, got Ray Allen, who scored 26 PPG last year, and got two pretty good players in the 2nd round.

Ok Ainge, you've earned 24 hours of not sucking.

Bloody work meeting caused me to miss the last 60% of the draft.

What an outstanding draft by Portland - AGAIN!

Oden, then FOUR quality 2nd rounders - McRoberts (shoulda been 1st round), Byars (coulda been 1st round), Taurean Green (shoulda been late 1st), Demetris Nichols (coulda been late 1st/early 2nd).

Also, interesting to see Aussie Brad Newley picked up by the Rockets... I've seen this guy play a LOT. Good shooter.

Gray was a great pickup for the Bulls. I can't believe he lasted as long as he did in the draft.

Dola, actually, I wiki-looked him up. Holy crap, he's ANOTHER POINT GUARD! At 6'9"

Okay, Kobe may kill Kupchak after all, but it will be fun seeing a 6'9" point guard in the purple and gold again (funny, doesn't look like Earvin), and Pau Gasol's huge 300-pound brother on the roster.

Well, they dealt away Byers for Koponnen. IMO, the only mistake they have made in two years. Even getting Stevie Franchise's contract isn't so bad because they ditched Randolph's contract in the same deal.

Well, signing Pryz to his deal wasn't so crash hot either, but yeah, even though I like Byers, Koponnen has been getting some press lately, and it's still a 1st round for a 2nd rounder. I don't think there was much need for Byers on this roster anyhow.

On the face of it, you're right, but I would fear spending first round contract money for a guy less talented then the second round guy traded for him. Of course, it could be I just don't know enough about this right winger.
