PSP has a game killer bug. It seems that your running back is ruled down on his first contact. I ripped off a 60 yard run and was given a 1 yard loss where I was touched. Looks like EA screwed the dog again this year. My game will be going back.

Huh? Not sure I understand. I just played a game and was able to drag defenders a good amount. In fact, I gained 73 yards after initial contact... Am I misunderstanding what you're saying?

For me, that works out quite well as my wife wanted me to spend time with her today and tomorrow evening after work because she is going out of town for her best friend's birthday on Friday. I'll be all alone with plenty of time to play from Friday evening until Sunday evening |

FWIW, Gamespot gave both the PS2 version and Xbox version a 8.8 and said they are the best current gen iteration of the series ever. They gave the Xbox 360 version an 8.2 and the main negatives were that features were missing compared to the current gen (they mention the same ones we've already talked about.) They generally praise the actual gameplay in the 360 version and both current gen versions.

I wonder how fair it is to rate the X360 version compared to the current gen versions rather than by itself.

Just curious, are they knocking off for lack of graphics on the current gen versions?

I don't think it is really fair, but it's no surprise they did that. Oh well, their biggest negatives are that it is missing features found in current gen versions of the game

And they say the 360 minigames are "forgettable"?! Wha? Those things are great! I like them better than a Spring Game, for one.

I picked this up for the PS2 yesterday, and have had a chance to play 3 games on dynasty mode do to my vacation so far. Im playing on all-american, i alltered the penalty level's and made some small adjustments to the AI. The stats have been pretty realistic so far.
Georgia Tech 30, Notre Dame 21 The Tech QB threw for 350+, with 3 TD's. Tech concentrated on the pass, which allowed Tom Zbikowski to make 13 tackles. He's an impact player, so im happy with that Penn St 51, Notre Dame 31 State found a million ways to score. Kick return, fumble return, Interception return. They led 28-0 after 1. I made a mini comeback, and had the momentum, cutting the lead to 7 at one point, until there pressure forced Quinn to make a bad pass, ending the comeback. State ran the ball perfectly in the 2nd half to kill the game. Michigan 17, Notre Dame 24 This game was a defensive battle, with a few big plays for each team. I ran for 190 yards as a team, and threw a 60 yard pass and run to DJ Hord in the 4th quarter for the win. The game is challenging for me at least. The stats look really good. Troy Smith of Ohio State is neck and neck with Brady Quinn in the Heisman race right now. Im really enjoying it.

Well, after some more research, I think I've found my resolution to 360 gaming.
I've been wanting a bigger monitor for my pc for quite some time and I've read over at IGN's website that the BenQ FP202W 20" widescreen monitor works quite well and even better picture wise that a comparable HDTV, or so they say. Monitor at newegg: $295 Xbox 360: $399 VGA Cables: $30 RCA to mini jack plug for sound: $7 A total of around $750 for gaming bliss AND now my kids can have my smaller LCD for their pc. This BenQ LCD can also support VGA and DVI inputs, so switching between pc and 360 is done with the press of a button.. nice! We'll see if my wife lets me pull the trigger, but she's much more willing to listen with this setup. (I may never have to leave my office again) Last edited by MizzouRah : 07-20-2006 at 12:07 AM. |

I just confirmed the PSP bug. What a disappointment. It renders the game useless.

I played my first online game. It seems as if I can't find any unranked games when I try to play. I played against some guy who used Texas. Being that my default favorite team is Army I quickly chose Auburn. I was beating him 30-3 before I offered him mercy.
Anyhow, the game seemed a little laggy. Not so bad that I couldn't play, but bad enough that I could tell. It definitely effected me in the kicking game. |

The system itself can be patched, however, I haven't seen any patches for any of the games. I'll be surprised if this gets patched, and I'm glad I held off picking up this version. I was going to eventually get it for trips, if I heard good things. |

I'm going to take the ps2 version back tomorrow, I think. I'm hoping if I tell them I'm willing to purchase a 360, will they give me the full amount for the game towards the 360 version. In fact, I'll call them soon. |

This was mentioned in one of the reviews I read. Almost verbatim what you're saying here. Not superbad lag, but noticeable and definitely screws up the kicking game. Hopefully the servers improve (but I doubt it). |

Have not played online yet. A buddy of mine played an online 360 game and said he did not have any lag. I know with other games it often has to do with who you are connecting with as well.

Interesting thing I noticed regarding Gamespot's review of the PSP version of the game. You'll note in the last sentence of this portion of the article that it appears that the reviewer actually noticed the "running glitch" in the game, but evidently didn't investigate further to figure out it was actually a major bug. OOPS!!!!
"That said, there are a few areas in which the PSP version of NCAA 07 falls short. The most obvious area of trouble is in the ground game, specifically when running up the middle. All too often, when plowing your running back in between the tackles, he'll get stuck behind an offensive lineman and simply choose to run in place, rather than bounce to the outside. Arguably, this can be blamed on the player controlling that runner, but nonetheless, it simply doesn't feel, or look, right. Some of the most powerful running backs in the country should be able to burst through defensive lines and create some openings for themselves; this doesn't seem to happen nearly as much in the game as it should. Furthermore, ball carriers will often simply bounce off of defenders trying to tackle them, and a guaranteed loss turns into an unlikely gain. One or two instances of players breaking away from sure tackles and turning something into nothing would be exciting; it happens enough in NCAA 07 as to be annoying. Also, spotting the ball seems to be slightly off--a three-yard gain on the ground sometimes is spotted as no gain at all." |

The guy at Gamestop told me as long as I have my receipt, he'll give me a full refund towards the 360 version. Nice!! We have 2 ps2's at home, one is my daughters and resides in her room, the other one is a free one I fixed that someone was going to throw away.. so I'm good there. |
