My guess is Mangini wanted Mack for a while and getting 2 sixths and paying less is A-OK.

BTW, anyone else really liking Mike Maycock? He's honest to a fault, seems to know his football, and is willing to admit he may fuck-it-up (I liked the Love Boat line).

Not a traditional pick for them BUT I think that Tomlin was pretty high on him from some things I read and that he thinks he can help turn him into a great pro. Seeing the way Tomlin handles players, I would believe it.

No pick from NE yet makes me think a trade is in the works somewhere.

I'm surprised they weren't able to get a 5th rounder instead of a 6th rounder for trading down each time. As it is, they basically traded down for nothing.

I could see Maulauga here to replace Bart Scott.

I agree with Racer, I thought they would've scored 5's on those moves but still, nice job gathering picks in what is a deep draft.

Yeah, that was my point- basically 6s and 7s seem kindof worthless to me. You're really close to free agent territory and most kids are going to go where there's a better opportunity for playing time.

Vontae Davis is an intriguing pick. Could be a big headcase though I feel like Parcells and Soprano wouldn't touch him if they really felt that way. He has all the athleticism in the world that's for sure.

I would have liked Davis in New England. Surely the Davis brothers are beginning to get it by now.

Alright, my 9 week old son is in his Roethlisberger jersey, I've got my Polamalu one on, first draft together...let's get to the Steelers. Nobody cares about the teams between here and there.

If the Pats pass on Beanie Wells, it'll be interesting as a Colts fan to see what the Colts do at #27. We can fill a need with a 3rd or 4th rounder at #2 RB, but Bill Polian goes by BPA usually.

I still say Matthews is the best fit there. Gotta love ESPN. New England desperately trying to trade down, now here's the same tired old Coors Light commercial for the 1,000,000th showing on our network - a new record for one commercial, breaking the old record held by Chevrolet, ABC, and "Like a Rock."
