I hate to think I'm picking up sloppy seconds, but me and Wendy have recently become more than friends. New burgers, new fries...it's like she got her pussy reupholstered.

We choose Wendy's quite often when we eat fast food, simply because of the potatoes, salads, and other semi-nutritious offerings. I haven't had a french fry in several months and need to keep it that way.

Am I imagining things or is Wendy's putting bread-and-butter pickles on their burgers now?

Is that the sort of thing you regularly imagine?

I used to imagine bread-and-butter pickles on Wendy herself until I saw what she actually looks like.

They do a fairly good job of hiding the freckles.

Not enough pickles in the jar. Unless they were loaf-and-cow pickles.

I'm trying to figure out what to have for dinner. Not cooking, because I'm getting ready to go out of town for a week and don't have any food (and don't want to do dishes).

What sounds good is Thai, Indian, or a burrito, none of which are good ideas in advance of a 7 hour flight (plus 2 hours or so in the airport, plus customs, plus an hour ride on the tube...).

I'll look back here in 20 minutes to see if anybody has any suggestions.

That's an idea.

Guess I'll go see what strikes my fancy. Chick-Fil-A might be it, as it's right around the corner.

Dangit, I hate trying to figure out food, especially when I'm hungry. I can never make "trivial" decisions when I'm hungry.

I just ate a can of vienna sausages and a whole bunch of nacho cheese Bugles at 3:00am. I'm pretty much positive I will regret this at noon when I wake up.

At first glance I read this as 'vagina sausages', and I was both nauseated and intrigued at the same time. Wow!!!

There hasn't been a drive-by shooting in our subdivision since it was built eight years ago (none that anyone here now can remember anyway). So it would figure that our house is the first one that would get hit, through the nursery window no less.

I hate people.

Just saw something incredibly cool. I was sitting in my home office, and I heard a bunch of critters running on the roof. I headed outside to see what they were. It was 5 or 6 squirrels chasing each other around. When they saw me, they jumped into trees and scattered. So I went ahead and walked to the driveway to get the newspaper. One of the squirrels ran out about 10 feet ahead of me. That was a bad move on his part, as a hawk came down and snatched him up right in front of me.

The Chick-Fil-A peppermint chocolate chip milkshake is one of the greatest holiday traditions around. Just a fantastic experience.

So there's this thing called STRIPPEROKE, right? And I'm like, how can I NOT check that out...but somehow it still took me two years to do so, until last night. In the course of the evening I broke a glass and knocked a candle on the ground, this awesome, enthusiastic old toothless black dude tried to sell me some mysterious drug that I think he referred to as "cold ice?", some guy gave me shit for wearing a sweater and singing Loverboy (as if that's not cool?), I talked with DJ about Dungeons & Dragons for a bit, these two customer ladies that were at the bar made out for like a half-an-hour as the crowd cheered them on, all 4 of the dancers put on leotards and did a routine to "Physical" which included a shake-weight, I think I got in the last song at 2:30am ("That's Entertainment" by The Jam, which seemed fitting), and then as I was walking home some guy pulled up next to me and "just wanted to see if I needed a ride anywhere?" (not so much, bud).

Now, how can I not go back next week?

Are you sure you didn't take the "cold ice"?

A+ for requesting The Jam.

So about a year ago I realized that if I only toast my bread lightly for my BLT's that the sandwich would cut better.

Then over the weekend I realized that if I put the softer side of my chicken breasts up it would be easier to cut than if I tried cutting it with the crispier side up.

I really do blame my lack of common sense on how nervous my grandmother made me when I was little. "Don't do it like that", "No, that's not right", "What are you doing?" It made me always second guess everything and made me blank out during routine shit.

Trying to psych myself up to mount my 46 inch tv on the wall. Never had a DIY project this big before. Got the mount, most of the necessary tools. Just need to get the items needed to run the cables behind the wall.

I do it right, I pound my chest thinking I can accomplish anything. I do it wrong, and I have nothing but a gaping hole in the wall and an angry wife screaming "I told you so" in my ear.

I haven't seen the (made for TV) movie "The Night They Saved Christmas" since I was a kid. I've been wanting to watch it again, but Netflix doesn't have it. Not that I would buy it, but all there is on Amazon is VHS and Region-2 Imported DVDs (and those are all used). Oh well.

So, just found out back home (Provo, Utah) there is a school board meeting for the Provo School District to oust the head coach at my alma mater, Timpview High School. Coach Wong wasn't there when I want, Coach Van Orden was and it was the beginning of a dynasty of football at the high school

Since 1991 I think Timpview has brought in seven state championships since 1986. Timpview has achieved the Utah State record for the most consecutive victories, staying undefeated since their third game in 2006 against Lone Peak; the record now stands at 36 straight victories, destroying the previous record of 29.[11] In November 2009, they held the State title for the fourth straight year. Timpview Football was ranked 21st in the nation, based on their three-peat in the 2008 State Championship.[12] Timpview also currently holds a 20-game winning streak over their crosstown rivals, Provo High School.

Now here is some of the talk. The school is in an affluent part of the city with the bulk of the "wealthy" populace sending students to the school. This accounts for about 10% of the student body. The rest of us were middle class and lower families however the support for the football program is through the roof. The team picks up major donation dollars from all over the city (granted, Larry King was the step dad of one of the Covey kids and dropped a ton of dough there)....So right now, cries of recruiting, large money pools and cheating is ringing through the school district because of this.....

I don't know why I am posting this other than....people are bitching because the 1% are kicking their ass at football....

We had a team, end of development lunch celebration yesterday. We started it with a tour of the TCHO chocolate factory on Embarcadaro in Frisco. I like chocolate, but, I don't LOVE chocolate and I absolutely despise dark chocolate. Welp, that's all this place makes is dark chocolate. I was pretty much trying not to gag the whole time I was there.

We then followed up that event with a lunch at the Fog City Dinner across the street. I'm finding more and more that in San Francisco, the more expensive the food, the worse it tastes and the smaller the portions. The only thing that looked appetizing on their anemic menu was mac n' cheese. I'm thinking "great, a nice plate of mac n' cheese will be tasty" and for 13 dollars, I'm sure it will be more than I can eat. Wrong. It was a small bowl of mac n' cheese. It was good, but not great and definitely not worth 13 freaking dollars.

So if you like/love dark chocolate, I recommend you take the TCHO factory tour. If you like to waste your money on small portions of food that taste good, but not great, go to the Fog City Dinner.

Does anyone here know of a football league where players are allowed to incapacitate each other at will without fear of penalty of suspension? That's the only kind of football I want to watch. Screw the NFL, CFL, and AFL. Those leagues don't like guys getting hurt.

Since 1991 I think Timpview has brought in seven state championships since 1986. Timpview has achieved the Utah State record for the most consecutive victories, staying undefeated since their third game in 2006 against Lone Peak; the record now stands at 36 straight victories, destroying the previous record of 29.In November 2009, they held the State title for the fourth straight year. Timpview Football was ranked 21st in the nation, based on their three-peat in the 2008 State Championship.Timpview also currently holds a 20-game winning streak over their crosstown rivals, Provo High School.

And to continue the rant...the Superintendent was our principal and took the money we received from winning the state championship and gave it all to the....>Marching Band!

Anyways, this is what Booster money bought the high school

Sounds a good bit like Buford (GA). City school system (as opposed to the typical county-unit system) that won 4 straight titles in AA (2nd smallest of 5 classes) before being denied the all-time state record of 5 in a row when they were dethroned last weekend in OT.

Above-average income & whatnot but they're at the point they don't really have to recruit, prospects are quite happy to move into the area (although they do accept both athletes & non-athletes that will pay out-of-district tuition).

7 state titles since 2000, 10 finals appearances since 2000, a state-record 47 game winning streak from '01 into early '04, a 32 game winning streak from '07 to early '09, 167-9 since 2000. Of those 9 losses, three were in the finals, two more were to the eventual state champ in the semi-finals, one was a regular season loss to a team that would beat them again for a title in a rematch, one was to a nearby school that's over twice their size. Only two losses in eleven years to non-champions from the same classification.

And pretty much hated by a lot of really jealous people.
